I've been here many times to work. The Internet isn't 100% reliable, and I had to try to login 10 times today before it worked. I ordered a "long black" which was 2.50 on the menu. When I went to pay, the lady who served my table said it was 2.60. I asked if it was more if you stay than take away, and she said it's more if you have the strong coffee, which I did not specifically order, and which I do not prefer. It would be nice to be made aware of options not listed on the menu. Generally, this place is reasonable, though I and my occasional guests have had some less than exciting sandwiches-- for example, the oude kaas was a mystifying pile of crumbled cheese on thick bread. Not my cup of tea. Speaking of tea, they do have a nice selection. The staff is usually friendly, and during the week it is a pretty good place to work on my laptop. Good place but I have a big But!!! Hahaja!!! BUT sometimes the co-owner... Ok most of the time can be grumpy. This certainly does not go with my coffee or tea. A customer should never feel like They need to apologize for going to a restaurant. So happy there are lots of other places to drink coffee popping up in Hilversum!!! Competition is good! Extremely friendly service, absolutely delicious food. I had the winter specials chicken tandoori pita and fireplace romance tea and it was good enough for me to already be planning a trip back here, solely for this cafe. read more

Got a bit of a nit to pick: They had a more-interesting menu (the Thai beef salad was delicious) but it's now heading down the middle-road of Dutch classics tha you get everywhere. Fun but far too busy on the weekend; better when the seating outside can accommodate the overflow; the last few times we waited and then gave up and left. read more
