This is a great company to work with for a new roof. Hail damaged my old one, and I contacted them on a recommendation from my neighbor. Jacob came and looked at the damage even before my insurance adjuster came. He kept me informed, and gave me a price for doing the damaged half and the whole roof. I chose to do the whole roof. He estimated it would be the end of April, and they were able to complete it in one day on April 13. Jacob kept me informed when they found a few boards that needed to be replaced. The crew covered the ground and bushes with tarps to catch all the debris. They picked up everything that fell on the ground, and ran magnets over the yard and even behind the shrubs. After they left, Jacob checked to make sure everything was done to perfection. The very next day (14th), we had a hail storm. Jacob called and was here within an hour to see if the roof was damaged. Young construction does NOT deserve even a one star. In order to leave this review, it required a star. I hired Young Construction out of the Mason City area June/July 2023. Worst decision I could have made. Zeke Thompson was the main consultant we worked with, nothing but a liar. I paid over $34,000 to have my house sided, a couple windows replaced, and a new patio door. Zeke told us that the work would be done by the end of August 2023, they didn't even start my house until November 2023. My daughter was asking him what the hold up was, he blamed the siding hadn't come in. We got a call later about how they have to come do measurements to even order the material. We were under the impression that they had already done all measurements since they came two times prior to all of this and measured. Turned out, they just never orders anything. My daughter continued asking questions and he would respond extremely rude and unprofessional. Eventually they did the work, was a horrible job. They hired out without even telling us it wouldn't be them doing the work. Nails were left in the siding, trim was only put on half of the house, the put the siding over rotted wood, etc list goes on. My patio door was the wrong door that they ordered, lock was broken too. We had to complain and complain for them to fix the job they should have done right to begin with. Even afterwards, there's a warranty (time length that within 6 years, if something happens, they would replace). A storm pulled off part of the siding, they refused to respond. They left siding off the top part out of sight by the roof, they wouldn't fix. We ended up hiring ANOTHER company to finish the job. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY read more

I had them do a roof on my 2-story house a couple of years ago. They were prompt, clean, and did a great job! The price was reasonable, and they didn't have any overruns. Roof still looks new today! Would have been a 5-star review, but after I had the roof done, they quoted me $25k for a siding job that should be about 1/2 of that, so I didn't end up having it done. read more

Poor communication, takes months and months of calling and waiting to ever return phone calls, damaged my gutters when putting on my new roof, never returns phone calls, flat out lies about never receiving voice-mails, lies about promises they made when getting the job, defensive and rude owner when calling to complain about employee's inconsistent statements regarding the gutters. Long story short I have a new roof 11months later and have to find someone else to replace my gutters that they took off in order to replace the roof. They left some pieces of the gutters behind and put other pieces in the dumpster but I guess that's my problem. Would not recommend, would give 0 stars if I could. read more

Our ceiling fan in the kitchen was pouring water out of the shade in January due to condensation in the attic after the new roof was put on last fall. This was our first clue that something was amiss. We called and they sent Jason over to tell us he had no clue. NO HELP. After my husband found the problem, (smokestack on roof had been moved which caused the pipe in the chimney to be moved and large area of heat & fumes going directly into the attic) he called again. We only want the pipe put back into place. They REFUSE to do a simple fix and return the pipe to the way it was BEFORE they moved it and want us to put in a new furnace. Their solution was to put DUCT TAPE over the pipe in the attic. In the meantime, we are still dealing with their aftermath, roofing nails in tires on vehicles, new ceiling fan, and carbon monoxide in our attic! We had other projects in mind for them BUT NEVER AGAIN!!! read more
