If we could give Young's less than ZERO stars, we would. We needed a new GARAGE frig for our Lakehouse, as after 20 yrs, ours gave out. We were going to go to Home Depot, but having purchased FOUR appliances for our kitchen at Young's during Covid, we decided to shop local again. BAD MISTAKE, VERY BAD. Our salesman, Jeffrey was nice enough, and recommended a small $800 GE frig made to withstand the vacillating temps in a garage. Within minutes, we made our purchase. Jeffrey updated our contact cell phone numbers on our records, as he only had our old Detroit landline # listed. He said delivery was $90, and they could make the delivery the next day. Perfect! We said we would be leaving our Lakehouse by 1:00 pm, to go to Grand Rapids, and Jeffrey thought it wouldn't be a problem. He said, " Young's delivers to many customers with cottages who aren't home to accept delivery." We agreed this was a quick, ten minute delivery. Place the frig in the garage, don't even plug it in, take away the old frig laying on the driveway. We gladly gave Jeffrey our garage code to gain access, just in case their delivery truck couldn't be there by 1:00pm. We left the story happy to have made a good purchase in a timely manner. The next day, we waited until 1:00pm. No Young's. We ended up leaving feeling confident that our frig would be placed in our garage, and Young's would carry away the old, white frig that my husband had dissasembled and left next to our driveway, as we instructed. A ten minute job, tops. The day after the delivery, my husband happened to check to look at what the house cameras had recorded of what took place during our frig delivery. We have cameras placed in strategic places around our home. WERE WE SURPRISED! The Young's delivery guys were at our home for over an hour! They were going in and out our FRONT DOOR! What? What were they doing IN OUR HOUSE? This was a delivery of a GARAGE frig that was to be placed directly in the garage! NOT inside the home. They were to open the garage, leave the new frig, take the old, white disassembled frig my husband left next to the driveway, and go. Easy, right? Jeffrey agreed, along with us, that it would be a 10 minute job, max! Right? WRONG! These guys went into our house, in the kitchen, emptied all the food from our great big French door LG frig/with water on the door. We had purchased it from Young's a couple years before! It was nearly new! They wheeled our big, beautiful, newer frig out through the front door! They put the new tiny garage frig in the kitchen? Why would they have to go into our kitchen? Were they instructed to take back TWO REFRIGERATORS? NO! My husband phoned Young's to explain this error and attempt to get our newer big LG frig back that they had "stolen" from our home. Debbie at the front desk didn't have a clue what had happened. She was very non-chalant about the whole thing. "We tried to call you," she said.Yeah, she called the OLD LANDLINE phone number we told Jeffrey was the OLD NUMBER! I then called and spoke to Jeffrey, our salesperson, and he had no idea of the error either. "What? I haven't heard about this," he said. We were told that they tried to phone us and couldn't reach us. Again, they phoned our home landline phone when we EXPRESSLY gave Jeffrey both of our cell numbers! We were told that the computers between the store, front desk, and the delivery people are not "synced". He lamely said, "So sorry for that, what can I do for you?" Say what? Give us back our kitchen refrigerator! They arranged to return our Kitchen frig to us, but just as we suspected, it came back to us a SCRATCH and DENT! Great job, boys! We have to live with the scratches as a bad reminder of this garage frig delivery gone bad. These delivery guys cut the water line when they removed the frig, and could not reconnect it, so we were left without the water hookup. That was bad. Secondly, they left food out on our counter and papers, cardboard, tape, wood pieces, etc all over the kitchen. Thirdly, and the WORST OFFENSE is that in Zero to 10 degree January temps, the delivery "professionals" left our FRONT DOOR OPENED upon leaving. REALLY? Our propane bill will be huge! We weren't supposed to make a trip from Detroit to Lachine (near Alpena) until March. Glad we did, or our front door would have been left opened for months! Young's sent someone to repair the water hook up, but we will never, ever, go near that store again! We have told this story to everyone we know. They are in total disbelief how this could have happened! By the way, when we asked to speak to Mr. Bob Young when we called, we were told he was on vacation in the Caribbean or somewhere warm. Some advice to you Mr. Young: Hire some competent people! (Your employee's don't care about the customer) Also, an idea would be to stick closer to home for your vacations and don't trust people to capably run your business when you are away. We say, "STAY AWAY from Young's at all costs." read more

After years of doing business with these folks, I've had enough. Improper installation led to a mini flood in my basement. Drywall soggy + falling apart. Called immediately and got a partial explanation from their service people. Actual plumbers were sent out next and after several hours of pipe cutting, they found a gasket or something that was dropped into the drain tube. Received a "yeah? whatever" response from the store manager. Cancelled all standing orders and will go elsewhere. From their website, they seem to think they're the only dealer in town. I will gladly go elsewhere + pay more for COMPETENT work. Filed a report through BBS, which they refused to respond to. read more
