He received a price which included installation. Once the job was done he charged him a lot more than he was told. Alec was nasty and said that's the price. So we never went back there. The job was ok just beware of the bait and switch. It's hard when you're retired and on a limited budget to be told one thing then change it when the work is done!!

The backdrop for this shop is a turn of the century drug store that has now been creatively repurposed to meet the needs of any shopper looking for new and some vintage home decor. My favorite part of this shop are the ladders that were used to access items on different shelves at one time. There are two of them made out of wood and cast iron hardware. The store has two levels with the main entry level consisting of mostly modern items that will fit in with the antique farmhouse look. In the back of the store towards the right, there is a set of stairs that will lead you to the upper level where you'll find a large selection of vintage items and household decor. Make sure to take the view once you make it to the balcony, as this is really incredible for what it is. The shop owners were friendly and had a pretty good working knowledge of the building itself. There is a lot of history displayed on the walls and shelves. You're going to need a few minutes to take it all in. If you love vintage decor and small gift items, I would definitely recommend you stopping in on your next visit to Alpena. You'll be glad you did.

Had a porcelain tile kitchen floor installed. We had asked that someone come out to measure the…read morefloor and look at it to make sure the tiles we were looking at would work. We had done rough measurement but preferred having a professional look at the job and do the measurements. They insisted they did not need to send anyone out. The installer did not use spacers and did an extremely poor job installing stating he was so good he could just eyeball the spaces. Some spaces were narrow and some wide. Some tiles were uneven and we had difficulty moving dining room chairs and moving the refrigerator in due to uneven tiles. We did go to court. The judge decided we pay for the tiles but not the work. So we are stuck with a sloppy, uneven floor.

After several attempts for a call back, I finally reached someone and they said I didn't order trim to cover it up. I'm not in the flooring business so how would I know this?? Plus the option was never offered to me. Lie#1: I told your son this information. Well, my son was not the customer, I was, and also my son said Stan never said a word to him. Stan came back and checked out the job and a few days later called me. I asked how much to have someone finish the job. He quoted $130 (lie #2). I OK'd the work. About a week later I got a bill in the mail for $341!! So I was lied to twice and not treated fairly. They should have made it right in the first place. They will never get my business again.
