I've been coming to the YouFit in Coconut Grove for about 4 years, but the current situation with the showers is completely unacceptable. The locker room showers have been under "renovation" for almost 3 months now. First they closed one side and said it would take about a month. While they were working on the other side, the only usable shower lost hot water and pressure, so members had to shower in cold water for about two weeks. There was also stagnant water, which made it clear the renovation work wasn't done properly. Now both showers are closed, leaving members with no shower access at all. I commute to this location because it's the closest gym to my job, and I rely on the showers every day before going to work. Not having this basic amenity for months is frustrating, especially since YouFit advertises these facilities as part of the membership. Very disappointing for long-time members. I hope management addresses this soon. read more

Locker room hideous, shower's broken but the condition of locker room enough to not use it even if it's working. nothing to wipe down equipment. Depressing environment, nobody there is happy. Worst of all, they lie and make it nearly impossible to cancel membership. Once you get to the final cancelation boss you'll find out you still have to write a couple letters and will get charged an extra month because of their ridiculous 30-day notice requirement. read more

Great to have a reasonable gym in the heart of the grove! It's got everything you need, spread over two floors, they even have classes throughout the day. Only thing I wish they had was more of a recovery section, compression boots or sauna would be fantastic. All in all, for $40 a month I'm a happy girl read more

Been trying to cancel my annual YouFit membership and now those effers out of nowhere are saying that when i signed up it was a 2 year agreement?!? When i received the email i thought it was a mistake in the dates so i called the gym just to have the manager "Katya" threaten me w collections when i told her i never signed up for 2 years i was told clearly that i didn't have to renew after the the year i could just cancel following with that I'll have to report the withdrawal as fraud if they take the money in which she followed w then we'll send it to collections. NEVER will i sign up for a gym again nor recommend this piece of sh*t overpriced criminal company to anyone. I'll be sharing this with any media, social media platforms there are. Alright gym. Main thing I hate (and many others I know) is that the crew BLASTS music on speakers so obnoxiously loud. You can't even hear what's playing from your own headphones on your ears. Playing music is fine, but not screaming loud. It should be nice background, not distracting you. It's very trashy. This happens especially at night. Today I came in to do some legs and Cat the fitness manager came up to me and gave me some pointers. Can I just say, that doesn't happen everyday! Especially at other you fits. I love this location, and especially the trainers that have been provided to me. However, there are many things that need to be fixed or updated, there should be more cleaning products spread throughout the venue for better upkeep on the cleaning by the clientele. As well as more paper dispensers to clean as well. There should also be a limit towards the time used up in the shower. I cannot count the countless amount of times that I've had to wait outside for 25 minutes or longer for somebody to finish their spa time, which is just supposed to be a quick shower after your gym visit. I have been coming here for just over a year now, so these complaints are based on long-term legitimacy. Also, for a gym that you have to pay for the better membership, I would hope that they would install a sauna soon as provided in the other locations where the higher fee is required as well. read more

Decided to join mainly due to its proximity to my home. Gym is suppose to open at 8 on Saturdays, waited an hour, no one showed up. Was charged $10 for parking since it could not be validated, wasted my time, money and effort I will never get my time back. Perhaps an isolated incident, perhaps better management is needed with back ups to account for any mishaps. Over 25 gym goers waiting outside, over an hour (that's when we left) not sure when it opened. Unacceptable. read more

Absolutely stay away. I was staying in Coconut Grove for 6 weeks while some renovations were being completed on my house and decided to join youfit for the occasional quick workout. The gym isn't great, but you get what you pay for - my real issue is that this whole company appears to actively engage in billing scams. Just search any customer review site about this company and you'll see what I'm talking about. Continued to charge my account for several months after fulfilling their ridiculous cancellation requirements. I eventually had to reach out to my bank and pay a $30 stop ACH fee to get it to end. I really don't know how this business is able to continue to operate after all the testimonials I've read. read more

This facility is always clean. I decided to join it because it was close to my house and so far it's been going great. The staff is always attentive and friendly. They have all the machines that I normally use. You can park in the garage and it's covered, woohoo! And did I mention it's only $10 a month. Super affordable, no excuses! Time to get fit! read more

What attracted me to this gym was the price and distance from my house. At $10 a month you can't beat it! It's a two-story gym with locker rooms on the second floor. There is an elevator if needed. Unfortunately there is only a water fountain on the second floor. The free weights and cardio equipment are on the second floor, and the weight machines are on the first. It is really hot in the cardio area, there are only two ceiling fans and the a/c isn't cold enough. The gym is on the top floor of Coco Walk, so that probably contributes to the problem. The equipment is of good quality. The front desk staff is super friendly and I see staff members cleaning the equipment all the time. I wish patrons would wipe equipment down after use, or at least bring a towel! There is a limited amount of selfie taking (depending on the time you go). The free weight area can get a little meat headed at times. Overall it's a good gym for the price. It would be nice if there was a stretching room. Parking is free up to 90 minutes. I recommend if you're in the area. read more

I had to move to North Carolina to take care of a dying family member. They wouldn't let me cancel my membership, I talked to corporate, the manager of my location, had a friend show up to do it for me, nothing. Tiny warehouse-like gym. Has 2 free squatting racks, 2 chest press benches and 2 stair masters. (Only missing a row machine /: ). Has most of the equipment of a larger gym and you can't beat the price ($10/month) so that's a plus. This location is tiny so it can easily seem packed,m and there aren't classes available, but definitely doable if you're close by. Not many gyms near this location so it's pretty convenient. Staff is easy going. You get parking voucher (1.5 hrs weekdays and 1hr weekends). The limited parking on weekends definitely affects a workout so I do my larger lifts. There's also a lot of ongoing construction to this mall but it has no direct effect on the gym (I don't hear the noise and don't feel any drilling of the sort; albeit, they're now on the building stage). read more

5 stars for the staff!! They are amazing and always hyping me up! I have found all the equipment I need to get a good workout in although the lighting in the gym is very harsh. The music is too loud, even with my headphones blasting I hear it. I do not like the new set up of the personal training, it takes up most of the first floor and left no space to use the yoga mats and free weights. The parking situation is really annoying, you get 1.5 hours M-F and if you go a minute over, you have to pay in full $8-$10 I believe! I don't even bother going to the gym on Sat and Sun because you only get 1 hour of parking and that isn't enough time to park, stretch, and workout. read more

Disclaimer: I'm no gym guru so I don't need all the bells and whistles some of the more experienced gym rats may require. Now that that's out of the way, I can explain why I think this is worthy of a 4-star review. I am well aware that this is not the fanciest gym in the area, but it certainly is the best bang for your buck. For starters, it costs less than $10 a month for a membership. For $20 a month, you can go to any YouFit in the area and/or bring a guest each time you work out. That's a pretty good deal in my book. (Plus validated parking in the garage!) This gym is brand new. Every piece of equipment and worker is still shiny and bright- for equipment that's a nice change from the rusted pieces I'd spot at LA Fitness. For the workers, they're still smiley and excited about the idea of working somewhere from the start. Since it's so new, it's never crowded. I hope a few more people sign up so this doesn't get the curse of CocoWalk and can't afford the rent, but for now I'm enjoying running and squatting in an essentially empty room. My only qualm so far is that there are no classes. I've been told that that's a work in progress so for now I'll keep exercising solo but I hope that changes soon! Even if you're not sure you'll love this place I see no reason why you shouldn't try it! $10 here goes a long way! read more

I think this Youfit location is definitely getting better. Cleaning has improved over the last couple of months, ceiling fans are giving better ventilation, and now there is a good distribution of spray cleaning fluid. Machines are also better maintained these days, though if you want to hook up earphones on the treadmills then good luck with that. I also think the staff is polite. I hope to give a better upgrade when renovations are finished, but I feel safe going there now and get a good workout. read more

So far so good. I've been a member for 3 months just to get my weight lifting in. No classes offered or steam/sauna room but that's ok. They have everything else a gym requires for a basic workout, free weights and cardio machines. Place is always clean and locker room as spotless as well. The staff is young but nice (Shout out to Ashlee, she's the best!). They offer personal training but don't know much about it. The Lime membership is $20 so I get to bring a guest with me. For that amount, you shouldn't be allowed to complain about this place, it is well worth it!!!! Parking is free with validation if you stay within the time limit 1.5 hr weekday, 1 hr weekend. read more

the gym set up isn't the brightest. they have legs and chest equipment on both floors instead of having all legs down stairs. there is a bunch of space that isn't used. they have a huge space upstairs that they have row machines and that's it. that gym could have a lot more equipment than what they have. read more

I'm very disappointed with Youfit. I got my mother a membership and after the trainer canceled on her a couple of times we demanded a refund to her membership. They told me that everything will be refunded, including membership. Fast forward a few years later. I went to renew my membership and they told me that there was a balance of over $1600. You have been warned! I go to another gym and they ask for credit card for payment. Not Youfit! They demanded a routing number and account number. I only give one star - because I cannot take any away. This is RIDICULOUS. I joined when they opened and after a couple weeks of going, I found this location was not for me. The green and purple was nauseating to me, and the place was overrun with people because it was new and cheap. I cancelled with a manager IN PERSON as they requested. I joined 24 hr fitness around the corner. I continuously got charged and kept going to the location IN PERSON to meet with a manager to cancel. HOWEVER the first manager was no longer there and the new one was always conveniently not on site. FLASH FORWARD a year, I now have moved from my Coconut Grove to Pompano Beach - I had signed up for auto pay and my credit card alerts me of reoccurring charges. I notice something from ABC Financial Services and find that it is the charges from YOU FIT... so... I go online, find the phone number and it rings me direct to Coconut Grove. I discuss the challenge, they advise there is nothing on account that states I have cancelled and I need to come in. I ask to talk to a manager. OF COURSE there is not one there. I advise I need one to call me so I can make an appointment to come when they are there so I am not wasting my time NO call back NOW as I call - wait - call - wait - ---- I finally find a number for the corporate office which just reroutes me back to the Coconut Grove location. I have gone around and around and around. I am attempting again - I found a site that had logged TONS of negative comments about trying to cancel membership at You Fit. It states: Request a cancellation via certified mail. Write out your request and mail it, along with the required $10 processing fee, to YouFit Health Clubs, Legal Department, 6475 1st Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33707. Please retain your certified mail receipt for your records. Will not fulfill cancellation requests sent via fax, email, or telephone. SOOOOO in order to cancel you have to spend more money - both in the certified mail and a processing fee. I HAVE NEVER HEARD of such a thing In fact, I joined the 24 hour fitness two weeks after joining You Fit and have cancelled the service after I moved 11 months later and GUESS WHAT!??! Easily cancelled online with immediate email confirming my cancellation. THAT is how it should be!!! Walked into my local Youfit in the Grove. Go to The check in desk and say good morning. The woman looks at me and says nothing. Im like whatever. So I hand her my phone to scan and she looks totally confused ..( youfit does not have an app that supports electronic check in. I've been going to this Youfit location for over a year and there are a few pro & cons to this location. Pros: -Friendly Staff -Great location -Great price -Clean (although floors are sometimes filled with hair, a good vacuum would solve this) -Overall good vibes from other customers Cons: -They recently moved all the machines around and now there is barely any free space to do some floor exercises. You literally see people in different corners trying to stretch, do free weights or abs -VERY few mats and they are in bad conditions by now -They need more 5-12 pound free weighs -Staff is not on top of keeping the disinfection spray bottles filled -Half the cardio machines audio jack is broken, so you can't hear any of the TV's -No guest wifi Overall I really enjoyed this gym 6 months ago, but now it's just meh.
