This is just a review of the pumpkin patch and corn maze, not the tree farm…read more This place is a nice little hidden surprise. There is a pumpkin patch where you can pick your own pumpkins or they have a nice selection already brought in from the field. There is a small store with homemade jarred goods (jams, apple/pumpkin butters, pickles, honey, salsa, etc) and plenty of fresh produce. They also had cooking suggestions for the produce. While the selection is small, the produce is fresh. Everyone was really friendly. It was a nice place to go and get a pumpkin-patch type experience last minute. It is not too big and not something you can make a day of, but it is a much better experience than just going to Walmart to get a pumpkin to carve. They also have a small corn maze here, it is short and quick and not too hard.

Does Schuylkill County have you down? Driving through Shenandoah not what it used to be....???…read more B&R Farms is the ideal place to go in northern Schuylkill County for seasonal produce - most famous for their strawberry patch in June. My mom and I made it a personal tradition since I was in high school to frequent a few times a month for their sweet and juicy strawberries. Bring your own strainer, container, or drop a buck for their own charming bucket as a collective reminder of summer. You can pick your own which is always a fun parent-child activity on the cheap or you can buy what they picked for you. If you are a gardener, there's a greenhouse at the farm with various florals and herbs to get your thumb green. Friendly and helpful staff on site or nearby. Two buckets of strawberries cost just under $12 for the sweetest and juiciest strawberries. Now the challenge: Arriving home with a full bucket that you left the farm with! It's nice to know this coal region summer memory has been here all of these years which makes each and every visit into my adulthood a pleasant one - and in this area that's rare to say!
