As a woman of color and a small-business owner of almost a decade, I don't take concerns about profiling lightly. I know when an environment feels genuinely unwelcoming or when there seems to be real prejudice behind an interaction--there are antique shops in Old Town that I personally choose not to shop at for that reason. Here, though, I haven't felt that kind of ill intent. From what I've observed, the attentiveness feels pretty generalized. This really is a marketplace made up of many small, independent vendors who have put a lot of time, money and pride into what they've created. There are a lot of different faces moving throughout the store and checking on things, and I've noticed that attentiveness seems to be pretty consistent throughout the space. I can understand why being checked on frequently might make someone uncomfortable, and I don't want to dismiss anyone else's experience. At the same time, theft is unfortunately something small businesses have to worry about, especially in a marketplace filled with unique, often irreplaceable pieces from dozens of individual vendors. The person being watched may have absolutely no intention of stealing, but that doesn't mean theft hasn't happened before or that these micro-businesses don't have a reason to be protective of their inventory. The bag policy also doesn't strike me as unusual. Goodwill has had similar policies around larger bags and backpacks for ages, and plenty of stores ask customers to leave oversized bags at the front. Honestly, in an antique store my bigger fear is turning around with a giant tote and accidentally taking out a shelf of Fenton glass. Personally, I try to interact with the people working and selling there rather than immediately assuming the attention is directed at me personally. I've found there is a real sense of community among the vendors, and many of them are genuinely excited to talk about what they've collected and created. And honestly, that may be part of why I find such good treasures here. Vendors seem comfortable bringing in interesting, valuable and unusual pieces that I don't necessarily find in places where merchandise isn't watched as closely. For me, that makes eclectic house worth exploring.

Fake luxury goods and perfumes along with fake costume jewelry cheaply made - it dampened the experience for me. I'm a big fan of MCM and 1950's martini cat and atomic art . I searched and I did find some martini cat pictures but they were newly made and blurry - low quality prints. There were some mcm furniture pieces though but not a lot of artwork or decor. I appreciate the concept and all the vendors that partake. It could be a one -stop -shop for people. I am certain inventory changes quite a bit. This can be someplace I will check out from time to time but it isn't my top choice as it is not a true antique shop.

This awesome women-owned business has some of the most unique vintage furniture I've ever seen. Large comfy tufted chairs, post modern couches with attached end tables, and other accents pieces. They also have a ton of framed art pieces, retro desk and nightstand lamps, glass wares, and other conversation starting decor for your home. These aren't garage sale items, the owners here put in a lot of time and effort to find amazing pieces. I walked out of here with two hand painted wooden pieces from Mexico and my kids love them!

My $50 did not go far there. Haha. However, it did go far at Valley Veterans Thrift. They are right next to Emerald Thrift Store. They seem small from the outside, but as you walk in, they are extremely big. Not only that, they are very clean and organized. They do have some nice items and i scored a Lee Sands Eel skin purse and little mini bucket bag for only $10 altogether so my $50 budget went far here. They do have Coach, Michael Kors and other items. I saw a Coach Poppy bag (my least favorite style out of coach) for $25, but it was not worth it due to ink stains. I'm on the search for Vintage- not Y2K, but Vintage Vintage Coach bags, but i love all bags. I know when a bag is genuine leather by touch. Definitely a thrift store to check out.

Joe, etc. I'm not sure if they're actually worth anything, but for any collector you might find a few gems. I bought a Kenner Chewbacca retro action figure; maybe from the 80's? It was only $8 and the resell value is $12-$15, but I just thought it looked cool. The booth had about 6 of these figures and the cool thing is, all the color patterns vary. Interested? Get here fast before they're gone.

Prices are reasonable and they always seem to provide 20% off everything in the shop. They also have kitties up for adoption every Saturday - which is a bonus :) The staff is always helpful and friendly, and it's in the heart of old town Clovis. We poked our heads in a couple other antique shops and this one was just way better.

They even had an auction area for "better" items, which felt pretty disappointing for what's supposed to be a thrift experience. However, as soon as I entered, I was enveloped with the good energy of the people and space. There was someone at the table by the door who was immediately friendly and engaging. She gave us quick info on the store and let us know they have a coffee stand to the side. We started looking around and found things we liked right away. For the quality of pieces and good condition, the prices are fair. I usually skip buying coffee once I leave the house but this was Vietnamese coffee and from the description I had to try it. They offer several yummy coffee flavors like banana and caramel but I went with a plain house coffee that came with a cold foam - it was delicious. Thrift Demon is much more than just a thrift store , I'd call it "Cool-trendy-classic-Demon". This is a highly curated collection of vintage and new items and the vibe, decor, feeling is so Downtown Fresno at its Best! I went in specifically looking for a pair of overalls (for an upcoming 90s party) and I found a pair!
