The waiter is knowledgeable and friendly and speaks multiple languages. He explains the dish and how it pairs with each glass of wine, making not only a delicious night, but one that teaches as well. The restaurant is just beautiful, in an old basement with a rounded ceiling and they even have a wine cellar further down. I recommend you dress fly and bring a date with you. Also, get different menus, so you can try more of the culinary journey. Also, we made reservations for a half hour later on a Saturday night. They were very accomodating. Its location is interesting since there were constructions and it's downstairs next to some residences. It is a small establishment with exposed stonework and intimate setting. I was greeted by name and the maître d' took our coats. We were seated across from each other and the wonderful dining experience began. I don't want to give away too much of the unique experience. We went with the chef's choice and we got a bottle of nice Riesling from Germany with recommendation. Every dish is carefully prepared and plated. I love the detailed descriptions and the service. From the minute I arrived until I left, my expectations were completely exceeded. Talk about attention to detail. I walked in they greeted be by my name. And walked me to my table(I was rolling solo). They then offered a glass of champagne and being that I was celebrating a big milestone in my career I was going all out. I chose the sparkling Rose from Germany. After my drink order was situated they brought a few small bites to showcase what I had to look forward to. We were seated even without a reservation and enjoyed a fantastic meal. The pumpernickel bread was delicious, and was served with a small side of herbed cottage cheese. The soup of the day, the tagliolini, and the US Beef Hanging Tender lived up to its name and was melt-in-your-mouth good. Service was solicitous and we felt very taken care of. Highly recommended.
