I would never, ever, use this company again. In my opinion there is something very shady going on…read morewith the company as a whole. They are also known as land agents Walker Landray, who are meant to be a management company, but in fact are the same company, as companys house proved. Repairs never occur, cleaning never happened, and any sign of anything amiss and they simply wash their hands of it! We had a horrendous damp problem, each and every room was completely covered in damp, we did everything possible that we could regarding, but it was 'our fault'. Humidifier bought, and expensive one, windows left open, I couldn't reach half the windows, but it was 'our fault'. An absolutely hopeless company, please do NOT use, or do so at your own peril!! You have been warned!

Estate agents are very much of a muchness and usually spoken of in the same kind of terms as demons…read moreand vampires, so its rare to find one which actually deserves a commendation for the services they offer. I've rented in Scarborough for almost six years now and have used Andrew Cowen for four of those years. Its a small, family run business and they usually have a decent selection of properties on their boards to rent - both houses and flats - and they're priced reasonably given the current state of the property market. As a prospective tenant, they happily show you around a property at a time to suit, and if and when you move in, they dont disturb you at all - in four years they've done the annual property inspections and thats the only time they've bothered me. If you do have an issue, such as a leak, which requires their help, they deal with it quickly and efficiently. They are professional in how they deal with you and are happy to help. Of course, as well as their rental business, they also have a number of properties for sale.

I wont say Moss is absolutely horrible, they have well spoken staff that readily take your calls…read moreand give you any information you need BUT. I rented a property with them in Sheffield and had to go to Doncaster to pick and drop off my during the start and end of my contract. During my stay, (a 6 month contract) in my 3 room flat, 2 out of 3 of the electric bulb holders that lit the apartment were bust. They took 2 AND A HALF months to send someone over to repair it and my apartments living area and bedroom were lit for this period by table lamps. As I primarily work online and am a software developer, I asked them to reassure me that the apartment would have a proper working phone line for my internet connection, and was told that the providers can give apartments there high internet speeds, after numerious visits from BT and Sky we found out that the building was hooked up with a copper wire that was installed in 1936 and that the quality of internet (close to dial up) couldn't be improved which cost me a lot of time and money. Also, Moss has a MAJOR internal communication issue, they tried (and still are) trying to charge me 174gbp because the person who pushed my request in the system did it AFTER the 30 day limit even though I had requested for it well in advance. I also blame this miscommunication to be the fault why it took 2 and a half months to get 2 bulb holders replaced. Lastly, the termination of the contract was the cherry on the top, my bill they are to deduct from my deport is 400 gbp for the Cleaning of the apartment (carpets, oven, fridge, bathroom), replacement of bulbs (which apparently costs 45£ and hour, hence which brings me to the hilarious conclusion that their professional henchman who chargers this amount takes an hour to change 2 bulbs). Anyways, to everyone out there, this is an absolutely honest and straight forward review. Hope you have a better time than I did!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!…read more Firstly the fees they charge are absolutely extortionate!! I have used several rental companies in the past and have never been charged so much in my life, if I remember correctly it was around £225 for 'admin fees' just to move in. Then they deduct £120 off your bond after moving out for 'final inventory checks' as standard. They are so quick to take your money on move in but it took just under 2 weeks for them to return my bond, which left me short when moving into my new home. They moved me into the property with a bent key which was supposed to access the electric metre at the back of the property, so I was unable to get an accurate electric metre reading. I was promised on 3 separate occasions by 3 various members of staff that the key would be replaced, however over my 6 month contract period it never was. When I came to move out and cancel my gas and electric of course I was again unable to provide any readings and was over charged due to an estimated bill despite contacting the company twice 2-3 weeks prior to moving out about the key and several times after move out. I was fobbed off and ignored constantly. All-in-all Moss appear to be a professional and classy company, however once they have your money they do no care or value you as a customer and I will never use them again!
