We always used to read the music magazines when I worked in a bar, mostly to read recent band reviews, but more mostly to look at the pictures and pass the time in the quiet hours. No Title is just that little bit different though. Actually reading the opinions within did not make me want to drink the bar dry with boredom - they were actually fun, well written and encouraging when it came to bands I didn't know about. Also, their graphics and design are second to none - truly fantastic and exciting to view. They've had more interesting title pages featuring local artists than I could count - let's just say *lots* for argument's sake. If you come across a copy pick it up, you'll find it'll be a real keeper. No Title is vibrant, colourful, well written and relevant to all music lovers in Leeds.

They have all the latest gossip on things like the line up for Leeds Festival, Moor Music Festival, new nights at Subculture, gigs on at the Brudenel Social...I could go on. You can find it in any of the independent record shops, - Crash, Jumbo - pubs like The Chemic and The Fenton and bars - North Bar, Baby Jupiter and Dry Dock. Its available in about 50 places so you should stumble across one soon enough. And did I mention its FREE?

It sells mainly alcohol, tobacco, newspapers, sweets and small snacks and drinks. The shop isn't that big inside but it is usually quite busy and very popular as it's prices are very competitive. It is one of the best news agents in Leeds and certainly you will not find drinks any cheaper on the Headrow. Well worth a visit.

It's pretty to look at too. I like shiny, pretty things and this fits the bill. The same people behind the Yorkshire Post are behind it and it covers a good guide to some of the action unfolding in the area. You'll find plenty of features, ranging from local DJs to restaurant owners. The listings section also offers some suggestions for the upcoming month and as you'd expect the club listings let you know which hot spots to hit and when. It also manages not to be too "local" and offers more than a smattering of fashion, celebrity talk and a look at the world at large. On the downside, it does have rather too many advertorials for my liking but they need to pay the bills somehow. It's not the most in-depth look at all things Leeds but it's worth a few quid of your hard earned money from time to time.

However, I'm still partial to my daily paper and like to be able to chill out with a good cup of steaming tea and some news and entertainment. I have many weapons of choice at my disposal but I do often pull out the Yorkshire Post. It's a broadsheet style publication and is produced nationally. Obviously Yorkshire is a big area to cover but it does so well. The style is very much aimed at your Yorkshire proud market but those who may also buy a copy of the Times or Guardian. With the news staples comes interesting and varied features, great sports coverage and ample supplements on a weekly basis. Indeed, if you want to know what is going on around our fine city then Friday's Culture is a must. Excellent reviews, through coverage and more than enough of interest from films to theatre, art to events. There is also a comprehensive what's on section at the back which should arm you with plenty of ideas for the upcoming week. What I also like about it is it's not ashamed to celebrate how good our great county is. Why shouldn't we, I get enough about London and the south everywhere else. It's a snip too and is a good way to spend those coins gathering fluff in the bottom of your jean pocket. Plus it'll point you towards their website too which offers plenty of videos and more indepth features and stories for you audio and visual lovers.
