I found a cool carry bag featuring a beautiful donkey, which will make a wonderful gift for my wife. The bag even has a small painted pouch inside the bag for her to store small items. This is going to be a great bag to carry treasures she finds when shopping at flea markets. Our anniversary is coming up, but I won't be able to keep this a secret. She'll tell by the grin on my face that I have a secret. She's getting this today. The staff is very friendly, too. I could see students in a back room taking a class. There's good energy in this store. I can't wait to take my wife to Friendship Heart Gallery.

Restore is the thrift store for all home improvement related. The one and only of its kind in this…read morearea. Lancaster is lucky to have such a great resource! I've long been a fan since their early days and old location in Bridgeport....... In case you're not familiar with what ReStore is it's a store consisting entirely of donated (new/used) building materials and supplies. It's a great resource for anyone remodeling or doing home maintenance that wants to save a few bucks. Since my last time here they've added a few departments and also now offer furniture. Check here before heading to Lowes or Home Depot because there's a good chance you'll find what you need. Windows, doors, cabinets, tubs, desks, lighting fixtures, paint and more are some of the departments, but there's so much more! Some examples of my experiences over the years: When we needed a vintage toilet lid we found it here - $4? When we tore out our old kitchen we donated our cherry cabinets to them - I'm sure they are living on as extra storage in a garage. When I needed a stainless steel sink and didn't like the price my contractor had quoted I found one here like new for $8. Ditto for 2 bathroom remodels - I got brand new Kohler drop in sinks for $8 each, years apart. When I needed new knobs I got them here for mere pennies. I also needed a small amount of tile for a mosiac project and found it here. You'd be surprised at how many of the products are new! Builders donate leftover materials and change orders here. Stores will donate their overstock. Aside from the new merchandise there's vintage supplies from remodels. They are a great resource for matching up trims. If you are a homeowner make this one of your regular stops.

I came from out of town to see my in laws and I fell in love with this place. It's a bit of trek from Carlisle but totally with it. It's fun and hip and the owner, Joan, is a sweetheart. I told her that my hubs and I were visiting and she was so kind. She told us about the history of the pen shoppe and showed us around. I absolutely loved it. This place is what i would call creative and beautiful chaos. Its cluttered with the magic of different pens and writing utensils including notebooks, pens, inks and novelty items. I got big into fountain pens and notebooks many moons ago, thanks to a best friend but I've always loved to write so this place was heaven to me. I love reading all the fun little interesting artifacts, looking at all the pens and everything else. I wish I had more time there. The prices were very decent and I ended up going coming with a Platinum Plaisir (f) (if you know you know....) a converter, a t-shirt and a hodge podge of stickers -- ugh, just love....I really felt at home here because I felt so "in my element". Anyways, I digress. As a whole, visiting here was so much fun! Joan also took a picture of us so she could display it on her changing photo album of her customers that have been going to the store for years. It was a sweet gesture. I highly suggest that if you are in the area and are a pen/stationary/notebook aficionado to visit Pippi's Pen Shoppe -- you WILL NOT be disappointed!! Also, HI JOANNN!! Thanks for being awesome and keep up the great work! :)

This shop has been in business for over 25 years, and you can really feel the history and passion behind it. I had so much fun browsing--there were so many different types of pens, shapes, and quality levels to explore. Even if you're not specifically shopping for something, it's a really interesting place to look around. I actually didn't plan on stopping in and wasn't even sure it would be open based on the time I arrived, but I'm so glad it was. The owner was incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. I ended up purchasing a pencil and a seal, and I'll definitely be back--this would be a great place to find a thoughtful, high-quality gift (especially for something like Father's Day). Also, a really cool bonus: there's an Airbnb located on the second floor, which adds to the charm of the space.
