As a working mother, I am suffering from chronic neck/ shoulder pain, basil thumb arthritis, lower back pain and sciatic problem for long time. Even by doing yoga daily for 4 years now, it only relief temporarily, the pain and discomfort usually returns in couple of hours. Recently in mid of October, I went to Dr. Yongjun Lu in Walnut (same office as Jason Song Acupuncture & Herbs) . So far I have done 6 visits and I was more comfortable than the previous couple weeks. Every week that I go there's an improvement with my chronic pain. Now my over all body pain is significantly a lot better. The treatment definitely is not zero pain process though. It does hurt at first as he was putting needles in. But as the needles were left there, I started to feel fine. Then as he took them out one by one, it was little painful once again. I know this is good for me though. Thanks to Dr. Lu. He has over 20 years experience in this field. He is very professional and concerned about getting you better. He knows 100% where to put needle hitting and manipulating a right position to remove the pain. I had great results after coming here. I have seen Dr. Lu for treatment 3 times, and each time he has been skilled and very thorough. No matter where your area of complaint is, he observes beyond the region to see which muscles may be tight and contributing to your problem. With his degree of training and the generous way that he treats, you really get a pretty extraordinary value for your money here. Bedside manner can feel a bit staccato if you're not used to it, but he means well and makes a strong effort to provide quality service and quality treatment. I told him that I wanted the full-intensity treatment, so that's what I got. If you are more sensitive, just let him know so that he can accommodate. UPDATE: I gave Dr. Lu 5 stars just a couple of days ago, but somehow I started to feel uneasy about my level of recommendation. And I think it is because of the sharpness of the needling (during insertion and manipulation, not while the needles are resting inside). I am not sure if you would experience this problem if you ask for a gentle treatment, but I've definitely had intense and powerful acupuncture treatments before that were much less sharp. Whether it is a matter of style, technique, or the needles used, if the sharpness of the needling could be reduced without reducing effectiveness, then this would be a Five Star practice. But hey, Four Stars is still pretty good and if you're totally not afraid of pain and want a great deal for your money, then this might be the place for you! read more

My right ankle was injured more than 30 years ago. This ankle has been in pain and swelling with prolong walking and standing. Especially with weather changes. I wear ankle compression almost daily, usually on my work days and days that I have go about. My post surgery on my right ankle did not change my pain and my swelling. PT didn't help. Pain was worsen with PT. Dr. Lu has been helping me with that acupuncture session treatments. Yes !!! My right ankle has not been swelling and the pain is much lesser than I was dealing with for years. I haven't wear my ankle compression sock for at least few months. This is a PLUS !!! Dr. Lu is currently treating me with my "Eye floaters spots in vision". The left eye was starting for a week when I told him. The right eye has been there for years and the floater spot is getting bigger. Dr. Lu acupuncture only once. I have a bulging disc and nerve pain in my hand. Doctor Lu is very knowledgable, attentive, and kind, and has over 20 years of experience in acupuncture. He's been taught by many doctors and combined the best techniques for the most effective results. He uses a systematic approach to needle into the muscle and relieve muscular tightness which results in relieving any nerve pain due to the compression. He also treated my migraines as well as carpal tunnel symptoms too. His treatments are based on short-term discomfort for long-term relief. The needling hurt at first, but I progressively healed after every session. If you're afraid of needles, communicate with Dr Lu and he can accommodate to your tolerance level. I'm an international student, I found Dr Lu on my insurance website. The first doctor took 3 months never finger out what's problem on my back and neck, but came here for 5-6 times, it gets better and better. Listen to him, and the much time you come, the more time he will spends on you. Dr. Lu is an incredible acupuncture doctor! I went in for neck and lower back tension/pain and after just one visit I felt so much better! Unlike most places where they just stick a bunch of tiny needles in you, Dr. Lu actually specifically targets the areas you tell him and releases much more tension than the other places I've been to for acupuncture. You can actually feel your muscles twitching and that's how I knew it was really working. Before acupuncture with Dr. Lu I couldn't even touch my toes (because of my lower back tension) and after just one session I could place my entire palms on the floor, amazing! My neck is also feeling much better than it has in 10 years! You can tell he's a very good doctor who really cares about his patients and makes sure to always do a perfect job. I've been going to chiropractor for my shoulder stiffness and lower back pain for at least 2 years and the relief always felt temporary. The pain had become unbearable so I decided to try acupuncture. I don't even know where to begin!! I've been seeing chiropractors weekly for 5 years and never felt my back getting better until I began visiting Dr. Lu. I've always been super scared of needles, but knew I had to give acupuncture a try because my lower back, neck and shoulder pains were killing me.
