This is a follow-up to a survey submitted on 4.16.26 regarding an incident with the facility…read moremanager: Bella Chavez. Based on Ms. Chavez's clearly hostile reception of me upon entering the gym the day after reporting the incident, I deduced that she had read the feedback I provided of her. The feeling was only reinforced when I walked in to the kids zone after my workout to find her, again, chatting away with the staff. Only, her back was to the door, and she did not so much as turn to acknowledge who came in, assuming she had already seen me coming through the glass. Her lack of common courtesy in refusing to move while she blocked the counter at the kids zone--the one used for parents to check their kids in/out, not only lacked professionalism, it also demonstrates poor leadership skills as her childish behavior was displayed in front of two staff members. I feel that this is not a person you want to represent the In Shape Family Fitness brand, let alone set the standard for the rest of the staff. Regrettably, the gym is in a poor location but it has so much potential!! You are definitely missing the target with those body pump classes, (I drive across town, past several other gyms just to attend these classes), plus you are sitting on a goldmine with Christina. She is an amazing instructor! Her classes are completely booked minutes after the reservations open (people literally set alarms in the middle of the night to reserve). If she had additional space to accommodate more people, you'd see a lot more members signing up just to attend her classes. In addition to Christina, you have another gem named Giselle, who works at the front desk and at the kids zone, and I am not lying when I say that I am always happy to see that she is working. Her kindness radiates; not to mention, her warm and genuine greeting as you walk in is welcoming. I also love to see her at the kids zone. Despite how hectic it must get with a room full of kids under 12, she always holds things down. My kiddo absolutely loves her too! My two cents: instead of investing in fixing the current facility, relocate the Woodland Club to a larger space, give Christina a raise and promote Giselle, ensuring her input in Ms. Chavez's retraining.

After belonging to In Shape for 4 months I'm updating my review…read more The Jacuzzi is dirty, gross, and harshly over-chlorinated. I won't use it anymore. The pool is also too chlorinated; it's cloudy and I've had swimsuits entirely ruined due to the chlorine fading/discoloring them. The gym is obsessed with getting my money in every way they possibly can from members who use the pool, but nothing about the place is worth the amount of money they want. For example, two dressing rooms? Only TWO? Trying to reserve a lane in the pool is so stressful and reserving doesn't make a difference anyway because very few people pay attention to the reservations. The situation literally becomes hostile. I have used the "Contact Us" email on the In Shape site, asked questions or commented on something. No one ever - never! - replies to me. There's my honest update. I really, really wish it could be more positive.

Part of Church In The Rock, it offers more than you can image…read more Weight room with cardio machines. All fairly, clean and well maintained. Indoor Half-basketball court. This is also being used for Monday and Friday nights boxing. We've also used this for soccer training during inclement weather. Pitching tunnels and batting cages outside next to a few punching bags. If heavy physical activity is not your thing, there is even two pool tables. Best part of this is it's all free. There is a donation box...it has never been pointed out nor mentioned, it is also kinda hard to see. Thank you Pastor Jim and all your associates for opening this to the community.

I hate giving them a low rank because I liked the facility and that it never got crowded. I also…read morelike that they encourage youth to go and it's a good environment for them but sadly some people took the "lords gym" a little to seriously. I get it's the churches gym and I myself am religious but some people were over the top. One the of guys that worked there was constantly loud and kind of obnoxious. He was friendly but could constantly be heard having heated religious discussions with members. Him and another lady totally verbally attacked this poor guy who dared give an opinion that differed from there's. I don't mean cussed or anything but just totally bombarded the poor guy who wasn't even arguing back. I once heard the employee say if God told him to he would kill anyone children included, I don't exactly remember how he worded it. Also the context in which he said it wasn't random it was another religious discussion but I just feel comments like that are way inappropriate...especially at his place of employment. The icing on the cake that made me leave and never come back was when another employee there was being prayed on or blessed or who knows what by two women. He was hunched over the front desk and these women each had one hand upon his head and they started off praying but then started mumbling and saying things that weren't even words! Seriously they did this for at least 3 solid minutes and who knows how much longer after I left!!! Such a long review but seriously people there were a little over the top.
