"¡Gema oculta!" I was craving an authentic taco- meaning meat, cilantro, onion, corn tortilla. My guapo amigo looked up nearby Mexican restaurants, a few closed early & we liked the reviews about Yoli's, so we were on our way. The lady that took our order was kind & the chef was nice. (Brush up on tú español.) I ordered the al pastor burrito based on recommendations & my man ordered dos al pastor tacos and 2 suadero tacos. I enjoyed checking out the groceries while our food was cooked. It smelled amazing. We bought all of that food plus a bag of habanero chips for right @ $20.00. (The chips weren't as "hawt" as we had wished.) We took our food to the car because our dog, Zoey, was along for the ride. We ate the tacos so fast that there wasn't time for pictures of those. I don't prefer warm lettuce on burritos but the meat was scrumptious. I loved the grilled flour tortilla, but the tacos were the family favs. Zoey approves, as do we. We are thinking about going back before they close tonight at 9 pm. We will definitely be going back before next week. read more

Talk about a hidden gem. This place is amazing! It's a small grocery store tucked away right off of Meridian St. in a plaza, if your not paying attention you can drive right past it. I came here to get some tacos and try out a new place, the place is small but might. They offer the special traditional drinks like Horchata, Jamaica, and jugos of Pineapple, melon, and sandía. I love tacos. When I think of my favorite meal, it consists of tacos, tacos, and more tacos. But when we pulled up to this place I thought "Oh God, where is Steve taking me?" And then we walked in.... I was immediately overwhelmed by the smells of lime, cilantro, and various meats. The menu is simple with no side options-the 1st indication that this place will be awesome. We each ordered 3 tacos. I had 2 beef and 1 chicken. They arrived piping hot and juices spilling out of the double corn tortillas. Every bite was better than the last. Produce is priced VERY nicely! There is also a vast array of dried peppers and spices. You can also find some cooking equipment and candles. CLEANLINESS: This is where that 5th star falls off. For the most part, everything looked decent (though, I didn't conduct the usual restroom inspection). It wasn't until I got home that I unearthed gnats in my newly purchased harina (from Minsa); aside from the gnat issue, everything else rendered itself acceptable. We've been frequenting Yolis for a few years now. Besides being a small, brightly lit, sparsely furnished Mexican grocery store they also are a taqueria. Near the back of the store they have a grill area that serves tacos, burritos & tortas. The meats are fresh from their meat counter and the chorizo is homemade. Everything is great but we always find ourselves ordering several tacos of various meats that they have to offer: lengua, al pastor, pollo, chorizo, cabeza, etc. If you have a hankering for guacamole or refried beans, well.....you can buy fresh avocados & cilantro or a can of refried beans in their grocery and take it all home and make it yourself. There are a few tables inside if you want to dine in. Luckily we live close enough so we can take it home & have some cerveza with it. We've had tacos & tortas at several other taquerias in town but this place is our fave so far. read more

My favorite place to get a burrito in Indianapolis is Yoli's Supermarket! I always order the El Pastor Burrito and I usually have to share it with a friend. Its stuffed with slow cooked pineapple barbeque pork and all the best toppings. They stuff it with the meat and refried beans, queso blanco cheese, lettuce, tomato and avocado to fill you up. I also love both the red and the green hot sauce and usually alternate between the two I usually get a pineapple soda to wash it down. Its delicious! Also a great place to buy cheap produce like jalapenos, tomatoes, cilantro and avocados. I take all my friends here when we are in a hurry for a bite to eat and don't want anything fancy. read more

Me and my husband have been to Yolis numerous of times. If you want authentic Mexican food, this is definitely one of the places to go to. The customer service is wonderful, we've always been greeted with respect. When we place an order for food we always get it within a few minutes, and the food is cooked well, and is just a very delicious!it doesn't matter if we get tortas or tacos, It is always delicious!
