Wow, just WOW! Did my dad just have shoulder surgery at a medical center or the Hilton hotel? VIP…read moreand 5 star service since we walked through the door and to my dad getting discharged. I must admit, my expectations were low since I saw this was apart of Lake Health system and you don't hear a lot about them. Dr. Gobezie is an angel sent from the heavens above. Such a down to earth person with a loving and giving heart. I wish all doctors were just like him. HA im dreaming in LA LA land for that. but seriously, DR. Gobezie is a role model for the ideal doctor in a perfect world. He is amazing. This is a newly built building on the corner of Chagrin and Richmond Rd. Super close to the Interstate 271 Beachwood exit. This building has only been up and running for a few months so everything is super new and beautiful! Everything is top of the line. Comfy chairs with big screen tvs and outlet stands near the seats for charging stations in the waiting area. They have a coffee shop near the registration desk when you first walk in with great coffee, light bites from Presti's bakery and oatmeal cups!. I had one of the seasonal lattes, Maple! holy yum. Seriously one of the best Ive had. I drank it so fast. Alittle expensive but it was a 20 oz for 5$+ but so good. All proceeds go to charity! again DR. Gobezie is an amazing man with an amazing heart. Staff is so wonderful! Everyone from the custodians, receptionists, nursing assistants, nurses, physical therapist, respiratory therapist, and doctors. Everyone was amazing. Upon walking in, my father and I were greeted by the receptionists, checked in quickly and my father was taken back. I had to leave for an appointment but my phone number was taken for any updates while I was gone. I dropped him off at 8:30 and I returned around 11:15. I was walked over to a tv screen on the wall which showed each patient (not by name but by a code). My father was pointed out and it showed him still in the operating room. His surgery was scheduled till 11:30. It listed the PACU, Operating room, and Post Op room and had a checkmark on each place he would be at so you know where he is at all times. About an hour later, I was directed to a conference room where Dr. Goebezie talks to you by Skype or some sort. There you can talk to him directly from the operating area. Ask any questions. He is such an easy going and knowledgeable guy. He let me know how the surgery went and what he did. About an hour after that, I was able to go up to my fathers room and see him (escorted by another wonderful receptionist). My father had to stay overnight due to medicare, but he was feeling so great, he could of left that day. He was in minimal pain. He didn't even receive a nerve block (he declined it) and didn't even take the Percocet he was prescribed, only Tylenol. He said he felt so much better than the pain he was in pre-op. His room was huge! With a big screen tv. Big bed with lots of buttons and technology. Spacious bathroom, reclining chair and a sofa that turns into a bed if I wanted to stay. On the unit there is a refreshment area which I was given permission to help myself. They had a fridge stocked with different soda drinks, juice, milk, pudding, and jello. Freezer with ice cream cups and popsicles. Also saltine crackers, graham crackers, and Loorna Doones (my dad's favorite). When my father first came to the room, they were out of graham crackers. The nursing assistant went on a mission to find more and came back with a handful of them for my father. The nurse also came back with 3 packages of Loorna Doones. My dad was in heaven to say the least. It meant the world to him and myself. A physical therapist and Respiratory therapist came in to talk to him. They were both wonderful and so informative. Other places they come in and drop off a piece of paper or the breathing spirometer and leave. Here they went in great detail and even I learned a lot while listening. The physical therapist drew a picture on the board to show us what type of operation the doctor did (an implant he created personally). Wow! The respiratory therapist went into great detail why its very important to take deep breaths to prevent pneumonia and to use the breathing spirometer frequently. In my dad's case, he used it during commercial breaks. :) His menu was amazing as well! he could order any time he wanted. There are no set meal times just when you please. I urged him to order something so he ordered a turkey sandwhich which he said was great. For dinner, he ordered the filet and said it was fantastic! I wish I got a picture of it. He was scheduled to leave the next day but I think he would of been willing to stay longer at that point. He said he ordered an omlette in the morning and that it was huge! I cant express how much I appreciate Dr. Gobezie and his staff for taking such great care of my father. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all! Highly recommend!

I can no longer recommend this doctor and here is why. When you go to a Pain Management doctor or…read moreany doctor for that matter with pain and discomfort, you expert that person to use his expertise to recommend solutions, right? Well he recommended physical therapy which I did religiously. But sometimes I would have breakthrough pain episodes where the pain was bad. When I explained this to him he said to take Tylenol. When I said that didn't help he said, "Well I don't know what to tell you." I started to cry out of sheer frustration. He said, "I know you said muscle relaxers don't work for you." I said, "That is incorrect. In fact the last time I saw you I asked you to refill my Robaxin and you said no and told me to go back to the original physician who wrote it for me." Then he had the balls to say to me, "Well that is what I wrote in my notes and I don't tend to make things up." He even asked me, "Well what do you want me to give you?" I said, "I don't know medicine. You are the doctor. I just find it hard to believe there is NOTHING you can write for me that would help me." Like, hey jerk, humor me and write me a script for a topical compound or something along those lines! He even went so far to check my Medical history and say, "You have only been dealing with this for 6 months." Are you kidding me? Right then and there I decided I would NEVER go back to him and that I would find another doctor... you know, one who is compassionate and who gives patients OPTIONS and SOLUTIONS to HELP a patient in pain. Begrudgingly he wrote me a measly 10 Robaxin and told me to use them sparingly. This guy is a complete jerk and he is not a caring doctor.

Wow! It seems we all have something in common with course of treatment dr Barnett seems to…read morefavor...for my level of pain rated 8-10 I was instructed to take 1 extra strength Tylenol and go to physical therapy!!!! He also offered steroid injection even though they were ineffective previously???? Also I was waiting on previous results and lab work to rule out infection in my red and swelling legs! Yikes is is that desperate for $$$$ to order epidural injection when a May have a active infection??? Remember these doctors make there money on procedures not office visits and prescriptions. I had severe stenosis with claudication confirmed by mri and documented by 2 other doctors as well as spondlythesis confirmed by X-ray but got missed along the way! Dr Barnett documents in his notes that he found the above to be undetermined in his assessment??? Are you serious? He neglected to treat my pain and orders physical therapy!!! Thank goodness I didn't go to physical therapy I went to a surgeon at UH for his medical opinion. He listened as to what symptoms I had as well as my debilitating pain ordered X-ray, MRI and nerve muscle test. He put me on appropriate pain meds. After test results he said that surgery was needed to stop further damage. My spine -vertebra was badly out of alignment with 1 bone sliding on top of another causing horrible pain as well as pinching nerves causing weakness and a neuropathy to my right leg!!! I think dr Barnett should think about getting out of pain management. Doctor Barnett not ever patient is pill shopping and I believe he is burned out and patients are left without there pain being properly treated!!!! To all, I would not waste your valuable time going to this doctor for pain control he's burned out and his medical judgement is clouded therefore neglecting to treat your pain appropriately!!!!
