Yogaloft Playa del Carmen is an incredible studio with extremely talented and experienced teachers and friendly staff. This studio is full of good vibes all around! My husband and I own and operate a yoga retreat center, and I was blown away by the caliber of teachers and the true dedication to their own practice they embodied, but foremost their dedication to the experience of their students. I have thus far practiced with three teachers, Michael, Orietta and Julio. Their passion for sharing the Practice was evident. The individual classes were presented exactly as described online, and each class was filled with hands-on assists. As a chiropractor, acupuncturist and yoga teacher myself, I was very impressed by the skill and intention that each teacher demonstrated when assisting. The asana practices focused on sound biomechanics and alignment, but the spiritual principles of Yoga were also emphasized. I left these classes feeling physically challenged in my own unique way, heart-centered and well-balanced. I look forward to more classes at Yogaloft and highly recommend this studio for all levels of practitioners. A few years ago I tried twice to take Yoga classes in different places and I couldn't enjoy any of the classes. When I moved to Playa my friends told that Yogaloft was the best place for Yoga. I told myself that this class it would be my last try. I took a class with Michael Gannon at Yogaloft and it was on that day that my life changed. I never liked gym or any kind of exercise. So I joined the class and at the first time I could feel my body connected with my mind and the feeling that I felt after class was wonderful. I never thought I would fall in love with any activity in my 31 years, but Yoga did this to me. I started classes in January and it was impressive how fast the results came. Flexibility, concentration, balance all together at the same time and I started to develop very fast and my body and mind are totally connected today. This week I challenged myself to go at least five days to Yoga and thought it would be difficult, another thing we learned in Yoga, mind control everything. Michael Gannon, an incredible man! Yogaloft, an amazing Shala! Vanina most helpful I have followed MG for many years since starting to practice Ashtanga Yoga. Never thinking one day I'd get to spend 10 whole days learning from him, sharing our practice and energy together with another 13 amazing Yogini's. I have been lost for words in what to capture as a review having had the time of my life! Thanks to Michael he has pushed me beyond my expected limitations, at times my body aching so hard and my mind taking over and telling me enough is enough you cannot do this. Then I'd hear Michael swearing at me and directing me to breathe!!! Just breathe, stop holding your breath and I'd feel myself so light and at times flying. The teacher training that Michael Gannon delivers is tough, it is worth the pain, you learn so much about the physical practice but so so much more about the mental practice and the other 7 limbs of our ashtanga Yoga. Playa del Carmen has so much to offer visitors: lovely beaches, active nightlife, the lively and colorful 5th Avenue, amazing food at great restaurants, friendly locals, etc, etc...and among all these offerings, there is this gem of a yoga school at the intersection of 10th and 10th called Yogaloft. It is an immaculate and beautifully designed studio, and no trip to Playa del Carmen is complete without a visit (or several!) to Yogaloft. The energy in the yoga shala is palpable and transformative. Before I even arrive in Playa, I look at the schedule and plan my vacation activities around the classes I plan on taking, putting Michael Gannon's classes at the top of my vacation priority list. That's how good they are. Michael's Power Vinyasa classes are the best of its kind, and not to be missed. His Thursday night meditation classes will take you deep. Local yogis are so blessed to have this studio in their little city, and visitors should not miss the chance to see the beauty of Yogaloft for themselves and to experience a class with Michael Gannon. read more

I have been a student of yoga for much of my life. I also own a studio in St. George, Utah, USA. I breathe yoga inside and out throughout my daily life. I make a point of sharing practice at local studios wherever I travel. Yogaloft has been a wonderful space to practice during my 10 days in Playa Del Carmen. The studio is gorgeous, clean, and filled with amazing energy of the space, the instructors and staff, and the students they attract. Michael Gannon is an incredible yogi. I primarily took class from him. I also learned from Frida and she is very good as well. What a wonderfully good fortune to have the opportunity to challenge my own practice, while feeling like I have a lovely home base in this area of Mexico. What a fantastic place to press a reset button and clear my mind and body of all of life's clutter and anxieties! Originally I was in search of Bikram Yoga, I am very grateful to have found Michael Gannon's Yogaloft and his "Ashtanga Yoga Made Simple - A Practice For All Levels" book and teaching method. I have been here a week now and can see why Michael has such a following here in Playa Del Carmen and around the world. The other teachers and staff are amazing as well. This is probably one of the best Yoga studio's I have ever been to. Love love love this studio so much. The classes are fun, energetic and bring a lightness to life that is often hard to find. To put my review into context, I must disclose that I myself am a yoga teacher and I have been lucky enough to travel and experience some great teachers through the years. This studio is an absolute diamond to find in Mexico, the yoga leaders are inspirational, friendly and humble. They will work you hard as well as make you laugh. This studio is a rare and precious gem! Situated in gorgeous Playa del Carmen, the studio is beautiful and the sign up process is easy breazy. There are many 'bonus' services at the studio: acupuncture, massage, fresh juices, a cool little store with essential oils and other yogi necessities. The classes and instruction are excellent. I've only checked out the English speakers and they are skillful, experienced and top notch. I highly recommend checking the studio out if you are just passing through or here more long term (like me) - there is a sweet little community surrounding this place. read more

I recently went to Playa Del Carmen on vacation. The morning after I arrived I took Michael Gannon's power Vinyasa class. I didn't know what to expect for a yoga studio in a tourist town. I was very pleasantly surprised by the beautiful space and the professionalism of the staff. You are greeted as soon as you walk in and helped with everything you need. I would highly recommend this studio for beginners and advanced practitioners alike. I'm truly grateful to have discover this yoga studio in Playa. Power vinyasa classes with Michael Gannon are incredible. It mixes breathwork, yoga, cardio and workout and really allows you to build strength and flexibility! Ashtanga class with Michael Luginbühl are amazing too. You will practice the true and entire primary serie which is really rare and hard to find! In general, I like the simplicity of the class and the teachers in this studio. I've always wanted to start practicing yoga for real, not just doing it while watching some youtube video. It was 1 month ago when my beautiful girlfriend, who is certificated and very very good, took me to Yogaloft. From the very first class I felt great and comfortable around top people doing their best for hour and a half. I feel at peace and really improving myself learning from the best. Whenever I'm in playa I never miss out the chance to take a class at Yoga Loft specially if Michael is around. The shala has a serious but fun vibe and you can always expect to learn something new! Spot on adjusts, classes are guided perfectly, teachers and receptionists are warm and have a good sense of humor, everyone makes you feel at home and the music is awesome.
