I have had friends buy puppies from here, and it took all my strength not to completely chew them…read moreout about their decision. Look, all pet stores get their puppies from puppy mills, it really is that simple. Petland is a pet store, so their puppies come from puppy mills. That means their parents are kept in utter squalor, and are shot when they can't produce any more puppies. If that doesn't bother you, (hey some people are soulless!) the risk of adopting a puppy that has had no socialization, could have infections do to filthy conditions, and potential health issues do to improper breeding SHOULD terrify you. Also, these dogs are outrageously priced. A healthy dog from a reputable breeder can cost less than half the price of a Petland dog. You are just paying double for the ability to conveniently bundle a puppy home at first site, that day. Is it worth it? UMMMM NO!

We adopted our dog from ASPCA recovery center and she had quite a few behavioral issues. She was…read morenippy, barking and jumping a lot which actually scared me since we have little kids. After working with Alex, we realized that her biggest issue was that she was "over-excited". Alex recommended her to be on anxiety medication which we found was VERY helpful and needed. He also explained to us how to monitor her levels of excitement by using commands and waiting for her to calm down before she became jumpy, nippy and barking. We also realized that we needed to use a muzzle when new people came in and around our 2 year old to make sure she's not nippy with them. All this and the commands gave us huge relief. We had 4 sessions with Alex and have had her for 3 months and we feel so much better. We definitely recommend Alex. He knows what he's doing and he's so kind with the dogs.

After years of different trainers, I discovered the modern reward-based training that Phil…read morepractices. Instead of fear-based prong collars, Phil uses reward-based training to achieve great results. I watched in amazement as he was quickly able to train my dog to do things like 'come when called', with simply the use of treats, a clicker, and lots of love. I found Phil through the Karen Pryor Academy site which trains the trainers. Phil is often booked for weeks at a time, so I hope you can get on his schedule. Signed, happy customer.

The interior facility looked nice, i would have gladly paid the additional cost for a big private area for them, but only general pupulstion was available. I was hesitant from the get go leaving my dogs here, the conditions looked like a puppy mill, but i was told that they have a vet onsite and that the conditions would be fine, lots of other dogs, etc, etc, etc.. well, with little other choice they were left. The staff is actually amazing. Everyone was helpful and nice, probably the best dog-sitters from a compassionate point of view. Unfortunately, much like multiple other reviews listed here, our dogs came home hurt, two had kennel cough, another had some form of bacterial infection and was on some form of medication for almost 3 months. I think the staff is wonderful to your pets, but the place must be filthy. I really wanted to like this place, as the staff was far better than the pet palace, but my dogs come back safe from pet palace and financially the pet palace is actually cheaper. Would have liked to have reviewed this with more stars, as they did help me out of a bind, but all said and done, i could have just taken them all with me. 1 extra star for the good kids working there.
