The pricing is fair considering everything you get in return. I would definitely recommend this place. The not so good: I called prior to my membership ending to cancel the service. I no longer have time to attend the Bootcamps since I am a full time student and I work full time. When I called in, I was assured that I will not be charged after July since I've canceled the membership. As an added measure, I went online to my member profile and canceled the service myself. However, I have still been charged the membership fee. Needless to say, I am not happy about this since I was proactive about making sure my membership is canceled. I have yet to be able to get ahold of anyone to remedy the issue. Hopefully it will turn out well.

I am from San Diego (my husband from here) and I felt right at home. It was our first class and they helped us understand the class and how it worked. Because we were new, Josh stuck with us to make sure we were all good! CLASS - We did the cardio & strength class. There were 10 different stations that were 5 minute each. You start with a dynamic workout before starting the circuit. It was really fun and you got a great workout! They played music, Bennie was on the mic motivating you, and the other two coaches Josh and Caleb walked around to motivate and push you. If we lived in Texas, we would get memberships and come everyday! We had a blast and it was all because the staff here are so friendly and welcoming. My sewage line wasn't draining properly so I got bid from them. They used a camera (sophisticated) to explore the sewage line, which was about 60 ft from the fence line/alley. Guy said that it was old clay pipe that needed to be replaced for $7000. And they would have to replace it all the way to the city main, which would make Abilene the only city that allows anyone to work on their city mains. So just to check on what the city had which I figured was upgraded to pvc (it was) I dug down to the sewer line at the edge of the property. So I started digging down to the sewer line a couple of other places just to verify what the plumber claimed. It ended up only being clay about 10 ft on my property from the city's line. So if the guy had been honest and not tried to grossly exaggerated or pad the estimate he would have said replace the 10 feet of clay because he couldn't have missed it with the camera that he ran from the trap next to my house down toward the fence line. This is probably a common way that unscrupulous plumbers line their pockets. It took a day to dig up that 10 ft of clay and replace w pvc. Cost $89 for supplies. What a profit margin. The sad thing or maybe part of the scam was the fish (Christian) symbol on his truck.

I had a carpenter ant problem, and the first tech was great although he showed up pretty early. He was a very friendly and professional former member of the military. He seemed knowledgeable and told me to give the chemicals time to work but to call back if I still had ants. The price I was charged was somewhat higher than I was quoted but I was told they guarantee their work and would come back as many times as it took to take care of the problem. A few weeks go by and I call to let them know I still have the ants- they never left although I did find some dead ones for a few days. I was to,d they would come back to treat again. They called to cancel the initial appointment as my tech had a death in the family. I expressed sympathy and told them no problem. I rescheduled and then they called on the new day to change the time. I agreed to work with them and they sent a different tech out. He was courteous and went quickly about his work. Told me to give things time to take effect but let them know if I still have ants. A few weeks go by and I call to report that the ants are still not gone. I was told I would be charged again in full because my "warranty" had run out. I tried to explain that they never got rid of the ants but was told there was no way around having to pay another couple hundred bucks. My understanding of warranties is that you buy something and the warranty guarantees it for a set amount of time. I was under the impression that they would get rid of the ants and guarantee me they would stay gone for 3 months or whatever. I didn't get what I paid for to begin with so not comprehending why my warranty would be out. I'm thankful Lawrence Hall didn't declare the warranty on my truck expired before I got the truck! Two stars because they were courteous but I didn't get what I paid for and will now need to find a pest control company that can actually get rid of carpenter ants.

The YMCA program is a great program for kids. It is very unfortunate the Abilene YMCA youth sports director is an egotistical jerk. He likes to pretend he's all about the kids but if something doesn't go his way, he will make the game go the way he wants, whether it upsets the kids or not. He is very unprofessional and doesn't mind making an unnecessary scene in front of the kids, even if it makes some cry. I give the YMCA 5 stars, but the youth program currently run by Joe, a definite 0/5! read more

I enjoy the YMCA, our kids have played sports there and they really enjoy being able to swim year round. As far as working out, they have a good selection of equipment, cardio room and free weights. The staff always seems pretty friendly, although I will admit, I don't really like to chat when I go to the gym. read more
