I was disappointment that my experience didn't match most of others in the slightest. As soon as I walked in, I was met with the most sickeningly sweet scent that could give someone a headache. I was hoping that would be the least of my worries, but when I saw the Taro milk tea with boba that I ordered was a vibrant purple instead of the natural pale purple, I was instantly disappointed. The vibrant purple is because they're using Taro powder and that was clearly obvious as I could taste the powder.

Not the Atmosphere for Me…read more I really wanted to like Dutch Bros, and I gave this location several chances on different occasions before deciding it simply isn't for me. One positive is that I do feel you get a generous amount of coffee for the price, especially compared with some other coffee chains. Unfortunately, my biggest issue is the overall atmosphere and level of professionalism. I come to a coffee shop for coffee and friendly service--not to hear employees' personal political opinions, social views, relationships, sexuality, or other parts of their private lives repeatedly brought into customer interactions. Regardless of someone's beliefs, orientation, politics, or lifestyle, I think employees should keep highly personal or potentially divisive subjects out of the workplace unless a customer specifically engages in that conversation. The communication style also became irritating. One employee repeatedly responded with "I gotchu" to nearly everything I said. After hearing it over and over, I finally joked that if she "got me," maybe she was paying for my coffee. Casual service can be fun, but there is a point where it starts feeling forced rather than genuinely friendly. On another visit, an employee attempted to speak Spanish to me in a way that came across as awkward and presumptuous rather than helpful. I understand she may have had good intentions, but employees should avoid making assumptions about customers or what language they prefer. I'm sure this atmosphere appeals to some people, but it wasn't welcoming or comfortable for me. My constructive suggestion would be to focus more on professional, courteous customer service and great coffee while leaving employees' personal beliefs, politics, relationships, and private lives outside of customer interactions. The coffee and value have potential, but after several visits, I've decided I won't be returning.

It was a whopping $17 - I didn't mind paying because it felt special but obviously that price would keep this from being a regular thing for me.

The atmosphere is cozy, with plants and fun art all over. Service is also super sweet and helpful --I'll 100% be back! In-depth: My mocha latte with almond milk was delicious! Very deep flavor and not overly sweet or milky. Plus, the price was reasonable for the size + milk alternative (around $6), and I appreciated that they do offer dairy-friendly milks and some sugar-free options. The service was amazing too. Very friendly and put up with my middle-of-the-day scrambled brain changing what I wanted several times. They also helped me when I bought a piece from their art vending machine (so cool, right?), and it got stuck because it was too large. Atmosphere is super cozy, with warm lighting, fun artwork all over, plants hanging from the ceiling, etc. I was a little sad I couldn't sit to enjoy it since I was on a timeline, but I definitely plan to return at some point. My only note is parking. This is downtown, so keep in mind street parking is limited. That said, the public parking lot is only about a 2-3 minute walk away. Overall, I will definitely be returning and may even need to grab a bag of their coffee beans!

This location had a large table for a group as well as some smaller tables for a few people. There were also some tables outside. The interior was decorated cutely. In terms of service, the workers were friendly but my drink took a little longer than I expected to come out... like it was ready after a bunch of other people got their orders (who were behind me in line), so that was interesting. I got the Banana Pudding Matcha Latte! This was on their seasonal menu so I definitely wanted to try it. It either came in matcha or espresso form, but the worker recommended matcha to me. Upon the first sip, I definitely tasted the matcha. It was a bit earthy tasting, but not the earthiest I have had. After I mixed the drink together (little pushing the vanilla wafers down to breakdown into little pieces), the banana pudding taste really came through. I am not a fan of matcha, but I enjoyed the drink... probably because the banana pudding flavor overpowered the matcha flavor after mixing everything thoroughly. If you like matcha, then this is your go-to spot in Charlotte! There is probably something most people would like here as they also have non-matcha options as well.
