You might even have to help yourself! Even outside festival time they do offer a few beers on the main bar of course. The food is decent. They show sport. The fruit machine flashes like it is having a fit! Cheap accomodation. I have never seen it in daylight.

It is a favourite amongst tourists and has a well kept garden area. It has open fires there in the winter too. There is a large menu for the discenrning palette offering a choice of meals and bar snacks also. The is a pool table and quiz machine present too for entertainment. I am lead to believe they also have live music too from time to time (Saturdays). Accommodation is provided in a neighbouring Lodge which caters for visitors, large families & groups. There is also a kitchen, lounge/diner, bathroom, washing machine, tv and video present as well. In total there is private & shared accommodation in 9 rooms (28 beds). Perfect for reunions, families, backpackers, students, mountain bikers, walkers & bird-watchers. Shops & other amenities of the town are just seconds away from the heart of Llanwrtyd Wells. The town offers events & festivals throughout the year plus boasts the Cambrain Woollen Mill. Well worth calling in if not a stay overnight.

I was in Cardiff for a conference and chose Riverhouse Backpackers as my choice...plus it was cheap…read morefor three days it was £60. It is run by a friendly brother and sister team. When they told me what room I was going in and it was all male....I was like nah! The were prompt to change and gave me an all female room. The did say keep bedrooms clean, so you knew you wasn't going to get a cleaner every day to change your bedding hence why I saw long stringy hair in my bunk bed that I had to pick off. I enjoyed the breakfast especially a paticular Peanut Butter I was raving to the owner about. It was from Costco! Obviously you get all sort of people- but mainly a young crowd. The have a cute small living room with plenty of choice if you wanted to watch a DVD! Also coming into the entrance of Riverhouse their are lots of information on what to do in Cardiff and the rest of Wales. I love the fact Riverhouse is near the River Taff and really close to the city centre . It was a pleasent stay overall.

Because it is hands down the cleanest hostel I've ever experienced. It feels like you're staying in someone's family home, only you are an incredibly welcome guest, rather than a paying customer. The fact that it's run by a brother and sister team may have something to do with it. The building is warm with modern bathrooms and showers, and plenty of them. The rooms have comfy beds, block out curtains and proper doonas, so there's no shivering under a sheet. There's free breakfast each day and it's an excellent spread; toast with every topping you could wish for, cereal, pastries, yoghurt, juice, and endless cups of tea and coffee. And the location couldn't be better. Right on the water, each window looks out at Millennium Stadium, so the city centre is just over the bridge.
