Stopped at the Stonecroft Inn Bunkhouse recently. This is very basic accommodation for those on a very tight budget. We were on a lads weekend away, but even with all the beer we drank, most of the lads complained about the poor state of Decor in the lodge. It is well due for a major refurbishment, and I would suggest that if they want to attract more custom, then it needs a complete refurbishment, including the bathrooms, the kitchen, living room, dinning room, and even the outside. They should then reduce the number of beds, and put the prices up to cover the reduction of beds, and refurbishment costs; then with better advertising they would probably get a lot more trade. As it is now, only those on a very tight budget, who don't mind the Grime will put up with it and return, and as we were the only ones staying there on a glorious weekend in July, it doesn't seem that many are returning. I would suggest that if the Hostel was very clean and tidy, with a modern environment, and with the proper advertising the place should be packed with weekenders, cyclists, walkers, fishermen, and even stag-parties; etc! read more
