With all this going on it made the shop look a bit cluttered this was a minor issue for me because I was so amazed at the products. Who knew a little taste of the exotic could be so close? The prices are good as well and if you've read any of my other reviews you'll now I like a bargain. The paintings were about ten pounds and small ornaments were on offer for less than £5.00. Being in here temporarily took my mind of the real outside world. If I had the money on me I definitely would have taken something home!

When I first discovered Exotic Homeware, I was literally amazed at the amount of cultural creativity that they sold, especially considering that the store is not far from where I live; I feel like I should have discovered it sooner. From wooden crafted giraffes to elephants to masks to brightly coloured birds to cages to canvases, the shop sells a great selection of organic and hand created objects, which really do make your home look more interesting and cultured. The price of items isn't bad either; usually when you go to similar shops, they put a high cost on these sorts of unique gifts. But here, you can pick up a medium sized collection of three wooden owls for £5! Bargain! I really wouldn't mind buying every item in this shop to be honest. For example I saw a table next to some rugs with a headboard with pictures above it. In summary they weren't organised. I found myself weaving my body around their products. This left me thinking "how on earth do they pack up the products?" Luckily there are a few more pros than cons. They had some really nice looking products and something to suit all modern homes. I particularly liked their paintings of cities, countryside and sun sets. The shop's decor gave a nice warm feeling, just like a home has. I went in during the sale and thought their original prices were decent but their discounted prices were even better. A family sized table cost just £20.00. Bargain!

You could say they sell a bit everything you need for your home. The shop is filled with all of these products and the prices vary but generally they are good. I didn't really like their selection of carpets as I thought they looked quiet old. They don't do fittings either, which is shame! On the other hand they did have some very nice furniture that can be delivered. I really liked their selection of bathroom furniture because they had some modern styles and old styles that had been re-invented, genius! The staff were friendly and from the way they were talking about the products (that I asked them about) I could tell they have a good knowledge of them. If you're looking for some new furniture or flooring then you might not be disappointed if you come here.

I can't summarise the antique, aged and authentic goods that they have in store other than under the phrase weird and wonderful - which really doesn't do it justice. I bought a Matisse print from there framed for £15, which is ludicrously cheap in comparison to most places that would charge you triple that (if not more) just for the print. It is full of quaint jars, mirrors, candle holders, chests, tin helmets, lanterns, snow shoes etc. all of which give this shop a historic quality. I feel as though I could be in 1920s Paris when I'm in there. It's really worth visiting, even if its just to mooch around and see an assortment of items and ponder how so many strange and delightful things converged on a little shop in Birmingham. They have all sorts of weird and wonderful things in there and what's great is that every time you go in there the selection has slightly changed. They have a collection of tins and trinket boxes which always catch my eye. I'm a sucker for bags and they have a whole section of vintage leather suitcases and bags. I once saw a perfume bottle which looked like something dug up from the sea bed of the Titanic wreck. Another eye-catching item I wish I could afford is the big brass-finished globe; it's pretty special.

It also helps that the lady who runs the shop is extreemly friendly, it would be impossible to visit and not come out with a purchase (or several).
