Today I also ordered prawn crackers (they aren't given for free) for an extra £1.20. I won't get them again--it tasted like they aren't ordered very often and had been there for a while. I bought my Diet Coke from the newsagent next door. I've never been able to reach the restaurant by phone to order lunch because nobody ever answers, so I have to walk there. This isn't a big deal for me since they're super close and cook everything in about 7-minutes, but I have also gone around during their lunch hours (12-2pm) and found it closed. It's a small family operation and I assume with only a husband/wife team running the show, if one is sick or they need to do something else during business hours, the restaurant stays shuttered for the day. I know this all sounds bad, but honestly, for the price, portions, and overall quality of the lunch special it's worth popping in every now and again.

There is literally nothing else there but this restaurant and this is it's main selling point. During the day the area is quite popular for family walks and it is (apparently) possible to see Windsor Castle from a vantage point nearby, although we could only see as far as Canary Wharf when we went (which isn't bad). There is road access and a car park so you don't have to hike to get there but my boyfriend and I decided to anyway, which added to the fun. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and has huge windows so you can enjoy the view. They encourage big bookings and functions but we found it intimate enough for just the two of us and we had an attentive waiter and good service. The menu has what you would expect from a good Chinese resataurant and was quite reasonably priced. If you're looking for an unusual venue this is a good place.
