Who can deny that waking up to the smell of bacon being cooked is the greatest smell ever!…read more Whenever my husband and I have stayed over at my mom's the following morning we all take a walk into Polesworth Village as there is plenty to interest us and some great brekkie smells coming from Dusty's. The five of us decide what we are going to have as we are on our way, red or brown sauce? Sausage or Bacon? We spend ages arguing over who is going to have what and then end up with the same order everytime. 5 sandwiches - 4 bacon, 2 with ketchup, two with brown sauce, and a sausage and egg on brown bread. We get a few orange juices and the older two have cups of tea. It's only small inside and you can sit in but we prefer to collect and go, to leave the older couples already inside in peace. The staff are always friendly and chatty, filling the 5-10 minutes we are waiting for our food with funny stories and the general 'how are you?' questions. Before we know it our food is packed and ready to go. We take a walk down to the park or sometimes we just go back to my mom's garden to feast on our sandwiches. Not too much grease, the right amount of ketchup and a good drippy egg yolk - perfect! When you compare the size of the sandwiches to what you have paid for them you feel like you are ripping Dusty's off! I'm at home now and I'm dreaming of visiting my mom again soon, of course I want to see her but it wouldn't be right if I didn't see Dusty too!

Small cafe in the centre of Tamworth, where the staff cannot do enough to make sure you are happy…read more Ran by husband and wife team (yes her name is Donna)... its only been around for a few months. They serve the normal range of breakfast butties, tea, coffee etc,. in the mornings at a really reasonable price, and at lunches have a massive choice. They have the usual salads, wraps and sandwiches, but have also started dabbling in chinese dishes which is long overdue (nowhere else in the town centre does a Chinese lunch buffet as far as I am aware!). They deliver to your door if you work in the town cenre, you can pre-order, and they are always laughing and smiling - what more could you want? Oh and they are also of the attitude that they want to gear their business around what the customer wants so they welcome honest feedback and want suggestions of what they are missing on the menu. Quality is of utmost importance to Donna and I have known her throw whole cakes away that she has baked because she thinks they are not 'quite' to standard - even though they have seemed fine to me. All the dishes are prepared by hand by Donna or her small team. The only one little negative I guess is its quite small so you may be pushed to find a seat at busy times, especially outside as there are only a couple of tables. My recommendation ? - the wraps - they are delicious.
