Yesterdays only opened a few weeks ago and already it is a buzzing, packed out Americana styled 50's & 60's cafe on a side street in Polesworth. There are American state number plates bordered around the ceiling, a giant jukebox blasting out Johnny Cash and an aroma of hot dogs I can still smell. The menu is made up of American actor and actress named burgers, such as the Marilyn Monroe or the Clint Eastwood and 8inch hot dogs known as the Paul Newman and Marlene Dietrich. They also offer milkshakes, with a list of flavours as long as your arm. You name the chocolate bar, fruit or sweets you want and they'll have it and transform it into an ice-creamed mix up dream. I had the Marlon Brando burger - a juicy chicken burger with cheese and salad and a Ferrero Rocher milkshake. The burger was good and though the milkshake didn't look like anything special it tasted amazing. The only downside to Yesterdays is the size of the place. As it is so small there can't be more than 5 people in the queue before it leads out of the door. They did seem overwhelmed being in such demand - though it was a Saturday afternoon - I only wish the service was up to an American standard. What am I going to have next time?

The burgers were okish although, again, not the greatest quality. Price wise, it was more than i was expecting, and although not a huge user of fast food, you'd get far better quality at a better price at Burger king.

We do like a nice garden to share a cippa and a chat, the whole experience was ruined by the surly waitress who obviously did not want to be there on a Sunday. Tea arrived in two cardboard cups & cake in a bag. Not really good enough for £9.00 A real shame.

I went there at the end of June in search of a good cup of coffee and was not disappointed! The service was really friendly and the prices were very reasonable. Brownies is a fairly small (might seat 10 at a push) independent coffee and tea room. It seemed like a good place to try as all the seats were full and people were still walking in - obviously earned itself a loyal clientèle! Tea and coffee choices although fairly standard (mocha, latte, cappuccino, espresso and americano plus English breakfast or fruit teas) were well executed and hit the spot, but this isnt why they had the five stars, that was down to the extra goodies. I was feeling peckish and happened upon bread pudding! I'm not sure how many readers of this will be aware of bread pudding but it was certainly a homely desert growing up and needless to say this did not disappoint! The addition of homemade pastries and veggie / vegan cakes also scored brownie points - excuse the pun :P All in all if I'm in this neck of the woods again I know where my caffeine fix will be!
