So nice to be upgraded to a room with a harbor view to be able to see the sunrise in the morning and enjoy watching the boats along the harbor at night. The king room was simple, but comfortable. The free WiFi was fast. Nice to have water bottles and English breakfast tea. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Loved the corner with Hong King milk tea and cocktail and pineapple pastries. The pineapple bun is perfect with some cold fresh butter. Lots of Asian and continental offerings which changed daily. The cream filled bao buns were so yummy. Loved the noodles, samosas, and masala chickpeas and cauliflower. The smoked salmon was so fresh. The beet and apple and quinoa salads were so good. Definitely try their fresh fruits, the pineapple was amazing, and chocolate croissants. A great way to start the day. Want to swim? The rooftop heated pool is long enough to swim decent laps. Loved the view as well. Head to the sauna after your swim. The steam and herbal saunas were perfect at the end of a long day of exploring Hong Kong. The experience shower with its multiple options was nice as well. Location is so convenient. Easy to walk to the promenade or the MRT. Service was great. Would recommend staying here again.

There are fresh croissants, coffee, and juice waiting for you in the morning all complementary! The hotel is squeaky clean, beds are extremely comfortable by American standards. Starbucks and other "American" fast food is just around the corner. Kowloon is not a typical tourist area of Hong Kong which actually makes it nice. Its a short taxi ride from the Airport Express stop and very convenient to the Jordan subway station and Tsim Sha Tsui Station. Hong Kong Island and all the touristy destinations are just a short Water taxi or Subway ride away! I also really cant speak highly enough of the "handy" cell phone/internet device which is yours complimentary during your stay! How comforting to have a local device without worry of data roaming or having to find a wifi hotspot on your own cell phone. The "Handy" is just that Handy! We took it everywhere to find restaurants, subway information, even to take pictures after our own cell phones died! We simply connected it to the cloud and was able to transfer the pictures to my DropBox! I haven't tried their new downstairs restaurant but hear good things! The rooms are quiet spacious and the rates are extremely competitive. Bottom line is if you are an American venturing to Hong Kong for the first time (or the 10th) give the "G" a chance! It's a tall hotel building , and yes all the buildings in Hong Kong are tall, so good to ask for higher up floor for better view of Hong Kong. Also, Excellent staff members and front desk crew. There is a restaurant in the hotel but its super boring, and expensive. But there is great! inexpensive restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and everywhere you go. Butterfly on Morrison lends out free smart phones with internet connection for navigating around town , phone calls , etc. for you to have 24/7 for your stay. They also lend out cell phone battery boosters, selfie sticks ( Lol !) , and other items to make your stay convenient and enjoyable. No need to bring a toothbrush to this hotel. They supply high quality toothbrushes along with toothpaste on a daily basis, to my surprise the cleaning lady kept trashing my toothbrush and giving me a new boxed and package toothbrush. In America we keep quality toothbrushes for at least 3 months before trashing. Lol! But it was all good! no complaints. There are many forms of transportation just outside the hotel door, literally. Bus stops, Trolleys, taxis, etc. and the subway MDR is not to far away and transportation cost is inexpensive and always moving, No long waiting times! Tip: get a Octupus card ASAP { Easier to buy at airport upon departure } to pay for public transportation with ease it is a must! except for taxi they take cash only and are the more expensive ( but moderate ) of the transportation in Hong Kong , all other forms of transportation are inexpensive but require the prepaid Octopus card. Hotel staff are knowledgeable about transportation and activities needs.

I won't say we're high maintenance, but we ask questions to make our time on tour more comfortable. They were instrumental in our experience. The hotel's rooms are small but comfortable. I must say there are windows into the toilet which is pretty weird depending on who you may be spending time with in your room as visitors/roommates! There is a blind, but it is just a blind. Weird, so I mention it. Views are staggering! Bear in mind that a government housing unit is right next door, so depending on what room you're in your neighbors may get to know you all to well, or you them! So my only recommendation is to get a key upon check in, travel to your room, check out the situation, and either accept it or ask for another room. Who wants to keep the blinds closed for much of the day and night on the 18th floor?! Just saying. The prices were below expected, they loan umbrellas readily, they keep elevators at the ground floor for guest convenience, and they have maps ready to direct guests around comfortably. Public transportation is ALL around, so getting anywhere could not be easier. Also, if you are staying a long time, like we did a laundry is literally right around the corner, that is almost too cheap. Drop of 10 kg of dirty clothes, pay about $11 USD up front, and return four hours later to find it "folded" and ready to pick up, bagged, tagged, and handed with your receipt. Can't beat it. We will surely return at the first opportunity.

If you're traveling with 4 people I HIGHLY suggest getting the family room. The two person room barely has any room compared to the four person room. In contrast, the family room has more room, a desk and chair, and a spacious bathroom and tub (the 2 ppl room only has a standing shower). They have shuttle buses that runs from 10am - 5pm to different locations in the city. Unfortunately, our arriving flight was after 5pm but we easily were able to take the A21. Their buses run hourly, but wait in the lobby 20+ min prior to the hour to board the bus...the bus promptly leaves on the dot and waits for no one. In the room, they provide complimentary water bottles per person and coffee/tea. There's also a minifridge and no microwave. If you have a choice, opt for a higher floor. I stayed on the 25th floor and the view was awesome. The best part of this place was that they gave you a fully charged smartphone (per room) that you can use as a phone or as a hotspot! Just set a profile and change the hotspot password and you're good to go!

It's also just a stone's throw from the To Kwa Wan MTR station. Although our room wasn't ready until 3 PM, the staff kindly held our luggage for us. We had booked a Premier Queen Room, which was decent in size but admittedly small--typical by Hong Kong standards. You can only open one suitcase at a time. Still, I found the price reasonable for what we got. The shower was impressively strong, and after long days of walking and sightseeing, we happily crashed into the comfy bed each night. There are plenty of local eateries and cafes just a street away on the main road. If you're not planning to spend much time in the room and don't mind the compact space, this hotel is a solid choice.

Good;…read morenow, let's discuss the accommodations: First, getting to Dragon Hostel from Hong Kong Airport was very cool and easy because there's a bus=A 21 that will drop you off around the corner from the Dragon Hostel (http://www.hongkong.net/transportation/to-from-airport/bus/a21). The Hostel is close to the 7/11 Store, Ladies' Night Market, Langham Place Shopping Center, the Hong Kong Metro, bus terminal/shopping mall up the street from Dragon Hostel, restaurants, etc. Second, the showers and bathrooms are down the hall from the room where I stayed; the showers are not very clean so, I had to clean both the shower and the bathroom BEFORE using them: It's not Dragon Hostel's fault because they do clean daily but, people staying at the Hostel aren't mindfully considerate of others using the facilities. The housekeeper noticed I was cleaning the shower and the bathroom every time I was ready to take a shower or use the toilet; she was very kind to me, always telling me, "Shei-shei!" and bowing humbly towards me! WHOA~She did a 90-degrees bowing!!! Third, there are all sorts of restaurants, shops, and things to do in Mongkok due to the Metro is close by so, the size of the room was alright . . . Since I was always running around sightseeing Hong Kong-I just wish the room where I stayed had a window; having no window felt very depressed and looking up at the ceiling wasn't comforting, either! Anyway, overall, my stay at Dragon Hostel was alright but, I think next time, I'm going to inquire if there's a room with a window!!!

The address for this place was the entrance to a mini…read moreshopping complex, so when we had walked around and found the creepiest elevator you only find in a HK horror movie to take to their floor, my coworker and I braved the most unconventional way of finding this place. When we walked out of the elevator into the apartment complex, it looked like the apartment area of Rigor Mortis. Mind you this was only our third hostel and we had seen only a few apartments in Hong Kong so everything reminded us of Rigor Mortis. The actual entrance is on the side street to the right of the shopping complex right behind the place where they sell fishballs and street food. The check-in was smooth and though my co-worker and I had booked the same kind of single room he was in a larger room with a double sized/full mattress while I had like 2/3 the size of his room with a twin. There was AC but no ventilation so the room always smelled musky. It was clean and had several outlets and a small box tv. The bathroom was shared so it was super tiny and almost impossible to shower in, though they do provide some kind of soap to wash with. And also, there was free wifi that was slow during the day but much faster in the middle of the night and early morning. The fastest speed I got was about 1GB/s. There's also free drinking water and discounted tickets for places like Disney, Ocean Park, and Nong Ping 360. If you're really desperate to find a place to stay where you don't have to share a room with other people just get a hotel room for HKD$545 than stay in a single here for HKD$245. Dragon Hostel was like an upgrade from ChungKing Mansions, not as shady or dirty but just as old and musky. If sharing a room isn't a problem get a hostel room at Check-inn at Wanchai or Yesinn @Causeway Bay. Better location, meet new people, and has a cleaner more modern feel.

The staff were amazing. Always greeting me. They would open the door whenever existing the place. Those things are simple, but it makes someone like me feel special. Every night I would order room service and the food was delicious. They sure did make you feel like home. I'm planning on going back to Hong Kong, but not for business. Didn't experience Hong Kong like I should have. Definitely will be staying at the same hotel. Highly recommend staying.

I got the feeling not many families stayed here, mostly because it was more in a residential part of the city rather than downtown or in the "happening" places. But we loved it. Everything we needed was right there -- the bakery up the street where we got breakfast, the laundry, where we had our clothes done-- and the ding ding stop was super close, too. When we booked the place, the hotel was under construction (which has since been completed), but the staff was helpful in getting us the rooms we needed. We actually had an incredible view of the harbor, which we spent many a relaxing hour enjoying. This is definitely off the beaten path for most travelers, but worth it for a modest stay while in HK.
