I would have preferred sending my story to Mr. Yen, but from what I see, you cant even connect with him thru the State Bar. And Please, do not have Griffin email me or contact me in any way! In a Michael Douglas movie, Douglas's attorney said 'it's a game to them'! I hired Att. Tom Griffin because of a utility company. In arbitration the co. said 'we had the job listed under another grade'. Mr. Griffin said 'I didn't know that'. Griffin had all the info so he knew about it. Griffin kept saying the $20k was a lot of money. I told him, it's NOT! Later he agreed with me, but he got his thousands of dollars & he's not giving it back to me! Looking back, I should have demanded that the company attorneys be in the same room with us! I should have stopped the arbitration, but Griffin never gave it as an option, and I was emotional and couldn't think to stop it. He wants it fast and with no bumps along the way. Afterwards, I asked him about the other company issue with the contract company (associated with the utility co) & suddenly its 'I don't do litigation'. Went home & looked on Att. co web site & his bio didn't say litigation. So, the next time we spoke, he says 'I do litigation' but now he wouldn't continue with my next case. Griffin says whatever convenient to him! I say 'Griffin is a smart man, but what a waist as a peoples attorney'. He finalizes as many cases in one day as possible. He won't fight for you (your lucky if he likes you) and it appears to me that this is financial favor for companies. While we, the small people suffer, and can't get a job. Just another attorney that has put a nail in my coffin! 'it's a game to them'! Fighting for your truth to be heard and never giving up, has its drawbacks... you end up poor! read more

My case took about 2.5 years to complete and it had a positive outcome. Ed assisted me with my case preparation and was very thorough. Not sure why lawyers make it so difficult to be able to talk to them by hiring such incompetent help. I was referred to talk to Phil Flemming at Robaina and Kresin about an arbitration case I was considering. I had the very unfortunate luck to have Elizabeth "Liz" Miramontes as my contact person. I was very relieved when I contacted the law firm and Liz responded. This relief slowly turned into anger, frustration, and disappointment as I tried to get more information about Mr. Flemming and to set up a time to talk to him. When asking questions about the firm and Mr. Flemming, Liz didn't feel it necessary to answer all of the questions. I guess I should have felt lucky that she answered at all since more often than not, she doesn't even bother to return emails. You have to email Liz at least two times before she will respond. When she finally did, so much time had passed that I wanted the lawyer to read a brief synopsis of what had happened so far. The synopsis would have brought the lawyer up to speed and saved both of us time on the phone. I understood the lawyer would have billed me for the time it took to read the synopsis, but Liz had to waste more time telling me this in an email. By this time, the lawyer did not have anymore convenient time slots open and I had no more patience. Such a waste of time. I am not sure if Robaina and Kresin is a good law firm, I only have my interaction with Liz Miramontes to judge it by, hence the single star. If you do want to have this frim represent you and you are unfortunate enough to have to work with Liz, here are some tips that may help: 1. Speak slowly/don't use big words 2. email her back daily to remind her of your issue 3. ask to have someone else in the firm be your contact person! read more

I have a non-compete agreement (NCA). I paid the $280 for a consulatation with Phil Flemming. Prior to the consult, I emailed the NCA and a 5 sentence email as a heads up of the situation and conversation I'd like to have. I was not able to go to the office, so we had a phone conversation. Once the conversation started, it was apparent he had not read the non-compete. I had several questions about the NCA, and I needed to tell him where the paragraph was located so he could look at it. While we were talking, you could tell he was walking around, talking with other people, and asking me to restate my questions. He told me that if I did receive a 'cease and desist', that he would write a letter diputing it, for $2,000. One paragraph talked about the NCA being focused on 2 states, specifically. I asked about that, because...per my email and that conversation...told him i'd be outside those 2 states, and he had no idea that there was a paragraph that listed state parameters. 12 minutes into the call he wanted to know if there was anything else we needed to discuss and then ended the call. It was a complete joke. I highly discourage anyone from contacting this firm...especially Phil. read more
