Booking with YellowPaddle was one of the best decisions I could have ever made for our wedding! Of course, it is a huge bonus that they have great prices and packages, but everything else is more than you could ever ask for. The online system is easy to use and there is always someone replying to any questions you may have. The checklist is so helpful and helped me stay on track. We had a good feeling about Joe B and Emily B while looking through portfolios and we were right. I had a 1 hour phone call with Joe a few weeks before the wedding and he walked me through everything that would happen that day and really helped me with all of the stress that comes with not knowing all the details of the day. This was already enough to make me fall in love with the company, but it only got better on the actual wedding day. Joe and Emily were so excited to be there and showed that excitement the entire night. Emily was always helping me with my skirt and making sure it looked perfect and Joe was always making me and the group laugh. They had great ideas for different photos and even queued us to get some really cute "candid" ones throughout the night. However, they weren't just there to take some pictures. All of our guests talked about how amazing our photographers were and how much fun they had with them. Usually, we see photographers just trying to hide and get pictures at weddings, but Joe and Emily really made the night and our guests come to life! We give a lot of credit to our day being so perfect to this AMAZING duo - it would not have been the same without them. The wedding was just a couple weeks ago, so we are still waiting for the album, however we did get a sneak peek from Joe. His photography and editing skills are beautiful and better than we ever expected. We selected YellowPaddle for our wedding this year and I have a lot of really great things to say about them! Let's start with the few cons: -A huge bummer is that the packages don't include edits on ALL images. The edit some of them and as long as the photographer you select has an awesome camera, you should be good. However, once we got ours back, we wish that some of them were edited more. -We were told we would receive our images in 4 to 6 weeks and it took just after 7 to get them back. Trivial, but 7 weeks is a long time when you're anxious after the wedding. -The photographers were a little inexperienced with coming up with a variety of poses - especially with the wedding party. They seemed to have a few that they liked and just stuck with it. However, here are all the great things: +Super easy to use and book photographers and packages +They were a GREAT value/price. We did a lot of shopping around and I felt they had great prices without compromising quality +It was great that we were able to select 2 different photographers for our wedding with totally different backgrounds which made for 2 unique styles. I liked that we could have some variety since one of our photographers went for more of the sharp and vibrant look while the other went for a much softer style. +Both photographers we worked with were very punctual and sweet and the management was very responsive with any inquiries. Overall, I would definitely recommend them to a friend - my only recommendation would be to expect you'll need to be patient with the turnaround time and have an idea of the poses you would like done before hand. read more

Yellow Paddle was a great find for my wedding. My husband and I both decided that the most important vendor was going to be our photographer because it will be the only way to share our wedding with extended family, our future children, and to relive it ourselves. The different options yellow paddle offers were exactly what we wanted and at a price we could fit into our budget. We were able to have a photographer for 8 hours and add an additional photographer for less than other places were charging for 1 photographer for 4-6 hours. Jen was our main photographer. She consulted with via Skype (since we were living in San Diego at the time). Our 2nd photographer was Jessica and they both were professional, patient, and did a great job on our photos. Our only disappointment was that we specifically asked for 2 photographers so we could have someone capture each of our faces as I walked down the isle, but both took photos of me, and we wanted one to stay back at the reception because we wanted photos of our guests playing the lawn games while the wedding party were getting photos, but they both stayed with us for wedding party photos. However, if that's the most disappointing thing, then it's not that bad. The photos were wonderful and I'd highly recommend yellow paddle to anyone. I would just suggest that you not be afraid to speak up and ask them to cover something if you notice something you'd like captured. read more

From day one, Yellow Paddle was cordial and easy to work with. We met over coffee and told them the vision that we had for our wedding. The excitement was evident as she helped us sort through portfolios of each photographer that was available on our selected wedding date. The process was easy and fun as we picked the style of Photographer that fit our vision best. Lauren M was our pick and we just received the sneak peek photos and could NOT be more elated. She showed up and made herself right at home with the wedding party and myself. She fit right in with the whole feel of the wedding. She was able to capture every special moment in still frame of this most precious and beautiful day. She was polite and adjusted to any delays that the wedding threw at her with a good attitude. I highly suggest this company and specifically this photographer. She has a grace about her and a light in her photos that really makes you feel warm. Additionally, we were offered the option of having a second photographer for free (we had chosen the one photographer option due to a small event) for four hours because he was training with the company and we received his photos for free as well, as long as we fed him. It was such an awesome opportunity that no other company would have been able to offer. Highly professional and extremely affordable, I recommend Yellow Paddle with 5 stars. read more

Please take this review into consideration before choosing Yellow Paddle for your special day. I was severely disappointed and in tears the day after my wedding and when I got the final gallery. Not only was my checklist not followed, half of my final pictures were out of focus. What brought me to tears was realizing the next day that there were no solo pictures of me in my dress and barely any photos with my family. When I got the final gallery, more than half of the photos were of my husband, the groomsmen, and literally the back of my head. I think we can all agree that the main focus should be the bride. When I realized this I immediately reached out to my photographer and the company. I expected Amanda Cataldo, the Director of Yellow Paddle, to be more personable and sincere. She was not, but her lack of integrity was apparent. The only communication I received was through email and a lot of questions unanswered. When asking for a phone call to discuss the matter, I got an email response. I was offered poor solutions and half-hearted apologies for the mistake that was made. Please do yourself a favor and stray away from this company. If you are concerned about your budget, do not book Amy R. for your special day. Even though her portfolio looks good, you will be severely disappointed, and the memories of your day will be ruined. read more

Josie & Alisha: Photographs have always been incredibly important to me, so when I saw what wedding photography costs I was devastated. Then a friend recommended Yellow Paddle. We had looked at other companies that provide similar services but they were clearly national companies that sent generic and persistent emails after you put in a request and didn't even let you see examples! We immediately received great customer service from Yellow Paddle and getting to choose from so many photographers' portfolios put my mind at ease and, most importantly, we could afford it! Every photographer I saw, particularly Josie and Alisha, could charge and deserves the $5k+ rate we found elsewhere, so we are incredibly grateful that we found them through Yellow Paddle. Pre-wedding communications were easy and prompt, our engagement photos with Josie are stunning (and she was willing to meet us nearly at dawn outside of town to take them after I had given her my vision of a mountainy shoot), and on the wedding day Josie and Alisha were attentive, worked hard, and seemed to really care and enjoy themselves. They sent me the photos promptly and I've probably scrolled through the 1,500+ photos a hundred times I'm so in love. I couldn't recommend Yellow Paddle, Josie, or Alisha more! read more

Customer Service -- Yellow Paddle was fast and efficient with overall great communication. The company answered all the questions I had prior to the shoot and ensured a smooth scheduling process. -- Alice Guzman, our photographer, was professional, responsive, detail oriented, and really put my partner and I at ease leading up to our shoot. Photo Quality --Our photos were gorgeous and absolutely everything my partner and I were hoping for when dreaming of our elopement photos. The company said for our package, approximately 20% of the pictures would be creatively edited but ALL of our pictures were stunning and beautifully edited. Photographer -- Alice Guzman was so much fun to work with on the day of our shoot!! Alice was warm and easy to talk to and helped make our day perfect. My husband and I were also clueless when it came to poses and how to best utilize our time for the session, but Alice is a true professional and knew exactly what poses would flatter us best and how to manage our time to ensure we got a wide variety of photos. This will be a two parter as we opted for the 1.5 photographer package- so reviewing 2 photographers. We had Emily as our .5 photographer and wish we could have kept her with us the whole way through - Emily was so fun to work with!! She made me feel so at ease on my special day, and has such a warm and fun personality we clicked immediately. She had a lot of fun takes on cool shots for me and my girls getting ready, by myself, and with my sweet, new hubby. If you're nervous about being in front of the camera, Emily does a fantastic job putting those nerves at ease and making it so fun! We had Joe as our photographer from start to finish and did an engagement shoot with him as well. Joe was so easy to connect with! He was very responsive and always made himself available to us any time we needed advice, had questions, or decided to add another photographer to our package. Joe has a very easy going personality that we really enjoyed and made it more comfortable for us to be in front of the camera too. Like many, I was on a tight budget but didn't want to sacrifice quality for photos. Yellow Paddle Photography was the perfect fit! From the initial browsing online of portfolios to meeting a staff for coffee to view more detailed profiles, to meeting the actual photographer to getting the final product- everything about this was seamless and professional. We picked two photographers. Katie K and Sara M captured AMAZING photos...which was difficult to do because my groom & I were on the move all day long. They captured action shots, close ups of emotional moments, and beaming joy. Having 2 photographers is also key to catch different perspectives and ALL the people! I wanted all of the precious moments captured, not necessarily glamour shots, they delivered both. We couldn't be happier (especially our budget). Chelsey Lowe was wonderful to work with. She was energetic, had a very creative eye, and worked well within our vision of the day, not forcing anything on us. We greatly appreciated her willingness to meet us up at the wedding site prior to the actual day, despite the long drive, and I think that helped prepare all of us for how to work the day and the First Look. The photos from our First Look in the fall colors are incredible, and this was truly where Chelsey wins high marks...by far the best photos! We did receive some blurry shots from after the ceremony, and several oddly framed photos, but that's just constructive feedback as we were very pleased with the results and would recommend Chelsey and Yellow Paddle to anyone. Finally, to people who are debating a second photographer as we did, our wedding was about 90 people, we did not go with a second photographer, and believe that it would not have been necessary. If you are looking for a wedding photographer then look no further than Kira and/or Jae from Yellow Paddle! First, leading up to our wedding, communication was efficient and prompt. It might seem like an insignificant thing but when you're working with multiple vendors, having quick sensible answers to questions is very helpful. Both Kira and Jae were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Professional, efficient, friendly and, most importantly, took wonderful photographs of our wedding, even when we included challenging dogs and family situations! They somehow seemed to be in 10 places at the same time, capturing excellent photos of all parts of the evening! We found the perfect pair! Nari and Emily did a fabulous job capturing our big day. They both really worked well with our crazy group (bless you both!) and made us feel so confident, which really showed in our gorgeous pictures. Their styles and personalities compliment each other's seamlessly. While we are thrilled with our pictures, I have 2 pieces of advice to those hiring a photographer: be sure you get all family orders taken care of. My husband and I realized that neither of us had posed in pictures with each other's new families. It all happens so fast and this can easily be overlooked. Second, scout out your own locations! I left this to be decided and unfortunately we are not very pleased with the location chosen. Admittedly, we had an idea of what we wanted but it was poorly communicated on our part. 5/30/2021 We found Yellow Paddle through our wedding venues recommended vendor list, and I am so glad we did! I loved that we could search our wedding date, and read the bio's of available photographers for our day. We immediately connected with Erica Steinhouse's bio and photography style, and we couldn't stop chatting when we finally had our kick off call prior to the wedding. I was soo excited to meet her on our wedding day! And she did not disappoint! All of her photos came out flawless and she captured our day perfectly. Erica was SO FUN, and great at giving us direction and queues for different poses, as my husband and I are little awkward in front of photog's (but not Erica!). She got the most romantic and beautiful photos of us that we will cherish forever!  We had so much fun with Erica during the wedding, we extended our after party invite to her, and had a blast! Marissa (one of the photographers at Yellow Paddle Photography) was an amazing photographer for both our wedding and our engagement photos! My husband and I had never had professional pictures taken and we had no idea what to do for the pictures or what pictures to ask for, but Marissa did an amazing job at taking a variety of pictures that made us look so amazing as a couple and she was very good at letting us know what to do to get these amazing pictures. She was the only photographer at our wedding of 150 people and she managed to take pictures of everything and we couldn't be happier with all of our engagement and wedding photos. We are so thankful for our experience with Josie and Yellow Paddle Photography. She took time out of her schedule to meet with my mom and I before the big day to talk about those special shots that we wanted then went above and beyond during our day. Our only regret is that we had her for 8 hours and we wish we would've had her all day. (Seriously people - just splurge on this!) In our wedding party we had two people with special needs and she made sure to include them to help them get to where they needed to be for all the special shots. We LOVE Yellow Paddle!! My husband and I would highly recommend this company! So easy to arrange your photographers for the wedding, which is a must at that hectic time in your life. We chose to do the 2 photographers which we also highly recommend. We ended up with just over 1200 photos of our big day and having multiple views of the same moment (first looks, dances, ect...) is very cherishable. Alex H. and Karly T. were fantastic to work with! We had a small wedding of close family and friends, and Alex and Karly felt like they were part of guest list and not just the photographers. Highly recommend booking through this photography company. Packages were straightforward and affordable. We got to read the profiles of photographers, and we chose Emily for our aligned interests and being from Wisconsin like us! We are beyond happy with the photographer we chose. Going into the big day, Emily understood our personalities and how to work with us to make us feel comfortable right away.
