I noticed their truck driving through my neighborhood filled with firewood and decided to give them a call to ask about their wood. Below is the transcript of the call which will forever remain fresh in my mind as a great example of terrible customer service.
YMC: Hello
Me: Is this YMC
YMC: Yes
Me: I noticed your truck delivering firewood in my neighborhood. Do you still have firewood available?
YMC: Yes
Me: How much is it for a cord?
YMC: Where do you live
Me: Gave my town
YMC: It will be $250
Me: Excellent, and is it dry?
YMC: It is wood, yeah, its dry.
Me: Ok, what type of wood is it?
YMC: Its wood, the kind that grows on trees.
Me: Ok...
YMC: It sounds like you are a picky type of person. Maybe you should call around and when you call me back, it will be $300.
Me: Ok, click.
So, if this is the sales process, I can't imagine what their construction process must be like. Stay away, or if any of you have good customer services skill, might be good to give them a call and offer your services. Just be sure to be clear that it is the kind of customer service that does not grow on trees. read more
