Bez Konceptu makes incredible lattes and cappuccinos topped with beautiful artwork, iced coffees and teas with fresh mint or fruit in the summer, and recently added chai lattes to the menu, which I missed dearly from home. The cheesecakes and sandwiches are fantastic (the triangle with egg, cheese and special sauce is one of the best hangover cures I've found!) and they are all homemade daily. On top of all this, they are the friendliest staff imaginable, always greeting you with a smile even when every table is full and there is a line out the door. Most speak fantastic English and of course Czech, making it a favorite for both expats and locals.

It is located in one of the best areas of the city -- in fact the historic core. If you are walking between the Untermarkt (the older and smaller market square) and the church of Sts. Peter and Paul (a glorious architectural colossus), your likely path will be on the street called Neissstrasse. That would bring you directly to the Cafe, at the corner with the street Kränzelstrasse. The proprietor of the Cafe is a wonderful person. I learned that he, a bright artistic type who is quite personable, studied the art of coffee (in its many magnificent varieties) in Italy, perhaps the best place to learn all about it. Anyone who visits this place will feel most welcome, and certainly they will be treated to some of the best offerings available in this lovely city. I will warn the potential customer, however, that they only have a few tables, and so it's not the most comfortable place to sit down for a coffee and read/work/have an intimate conversation. Usually they have some baked good or goods which are pretty tasty as well. I always wonder how these places manage to have such cheap, high-quality coffee, but sell the same coffee bags for such a high price (you'd barely save money making it at home), but that might just be the strange economics of the business. The string is unique, very artsy in my opinion, combining indoor/outdoor seating. Very open and comfortable, appeared to be many locals taking in a morning coffee or breakfast and working.
