Very unhelpful. Zero stars. I called their phone number and asked for a cab. A woman answered who asked me for an address. I gave it to her but expressed a little uncertainty on it - I believe I said "I think that's the address but I'm not sure." Upon hearing this, she asked me to double-check, which is fine - but in my situation I could not check. I asked her if she could check - assuming that she was sitting in front of a computer. I thought she might have some kind of taxi software or even just use Google Maps to check if its a valid address (which by the way, it was) and she refused. All I did was express some uncertainty about the address (which was correct). Once she heard my uncertainty, she refused to serve me, or help me look it up. I didn't give her any attitude. I can't imagine how rude and unhelpful she is to people who give her attitude. Another cab company was able to confirm it for me whereas she refused to help me. I think she was unhelpful bordering on rude, and I have no problem giving another cab company my money. Cabs are my last choice in transportation. I call because I need to get somewhere fast, or I may not know exactly where the bus is. I call cabs because I need the service - why would I choose them if I don't have to? If Yellow Cab can't train their staff to provide good service, I have so many other options. What if someone had a semi emergency and needed to call a cab because that was their only option? What if they were slightly drunk and needed a ride home and were uncertain about the address? read more

MAJOR CREEP WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! Hell, warning guys who love their girlfriends and wives and lady friends too, Do not support this business! The drivers of YellowCab are not only classless thieves, liars, swindlers, and terrible drivers, They're also completely repulsive creeps towards female passengers. I wish the company would do something about these drivers but it seems more likely that the city is going to suffer through horrible cabbies who are awful, dishonest, mean spirited, and sometimes just downright demented. After being harassed in the NASTIEST way by my cabbie this weekend, I can safely say I will never get into another yellow cab - the company obviously isn't going to care about enforcing appropriate behavior and I'm scared to report the driver because he dropped me off at my house, knows my name thanks to my credit card, and knows the building I live in. Vancouver is quickly earning a reputation as a scummy place to take a cab, so good job city of Vancouver for having shitty service reputations and no standards. You might want to work on that - seriously. And cabbies: It is NEVER appropriate to ask your passenger about their marriage or dating status, or their sex life, or how easy it would be to kill their boyfriend. UBER, WHERE ARE YOU??? WE NEED YOU...... WE WANT YOU!!! One would [think] that these "3rd world" cab company's would get their act together and want to provide good service with friendly, odorless drivers, yet they continue to fail at every available opportunity. I pray that UBER is granted approval to operate in Vancouver. Had a reservation, yet the cab never showed up; called dispatch and the rude bee-atch advised that I never booked??!! When the other cab arrived over 35 minutes later he was offensively rude; spoke a handful of English and smelled as if he was feasting on garlic and chili peppers yet tried to mask the stench with a bottle of Aqua Velva. That was one of SERVERAL nasty experiences with our taxi selections...Yellow and Black Top being the worst of the lot. Drivers: yes I know you where an Engineer or Doctor in your home country but I don't believe anyone is forcing you to drive cabs; this is your choice, so why not be joyous and take pride in your chosen profession? Ok, everyone's had a bad cab ride but this one takes the cake. I flagged a cab because it was raining and the driver got all snitty because I was going only a relatively short distance. Right after he started driving he shut off the meter and asked for just $5.00 even (presumably so he could just pocket the money) because due to me he would miss his place in line at the airport. (why did he even stop to pick me up then?) He then proceded to drive like a madman to my destination which was, as I pointed out to him, on the way to the airport anyways. He dropped me off on the curb instead of pulling into the parking lot. Nice. Next time if I see a yellow cab, I won't even bother, I'll wait to flag a different cab company. Never again! read more

WOULD RATE 0 STAR IF I COULD. Just witnessed a driver trying to make a huge U-Turn at an intersection with traffic lights on Victoria Drive at night. Anyone who was trying to turn left or right could not see the incoming traffic at the intersection because his taxi was blocking the view. He could have drove around the block to fix his mistakes (he had passengers too). It is illegal to do a U-Turn at an intersection where there is a traffic light and it was definitely not safe, especially at night. And he tried to wave the drivers he was blocking the incoming traffic to go. How does that make sense? He had plenty of space to drive by and go around the block instead of making a U-Turn. read more

I always had some negative experience with them. The most terrible one was calling them at 3 AM after a concert on HASTINGS street (you all know how that place is after 3 AM...). I called them probably 4 times and they kept saying they will send one for me. Probably 5 empty taxis from them went past me and ignored me waving to get in and get the hell out of that part of Vancouver. I couldn't walk 20 minutes to the next bus stop to get home because that meant I would have to walk through the parts of Hastings that I don't feel safe walking alone as a woman. Amazing. RUDEST drivers around. The drivers think they are above the law and do NOT obey traffic laws. Run red lights, speeding excessively to get to a fare, rejects credit card payments and tells BS stories that they don't get paid for a month and prefer cash payments (so they don't have to declare it), and swears at other drivers while passengers are in the car. SO unprofessional. Avoid yellow cab199. Biggest jerk of all. Bring on Lyft. Rent an hourly car like EVO, Mobo, or any of those services, instead of taking a cab. Complaints fall on deaf ears. Cops don't ticket harshly enough (or at all) to the cabbies who evade traffic laws. read more

I was desperate for a taxi the other day and after reading Yelp wanted to find an alternative. But given that I was late, I used Yellow Cab. The service was OK, don't get me wrong but there was a distinctly odd/spooky kind of feeling with the driver. Also the camera itself was spooky in this cab. Ahh..ladies, I would really be careful if you flag one of these down and really recommend that this taxi company takes the service seriously and try to hire some professional, decent folk who might up the image. read more

Another s**t experience with Van Yellow Cab. Used their app. Was watching as cab 313 was approaching to pick up. Could see the cab as he slowed and picked up a flag. We booked our cab one day early through the Internet to make sure it would be all settled and ready to take us to the airport at 9 AM sharp. At 9.30, the online tracking was still saying "awaiting dispatch". We had to wait over 35mn for the cab to arrive. When I called the taxi company over the phone the lady was extremely rude and said it was normal to wait over 30mn even when booked one day in advance. I find it unacceptable. I would definitely not recommend early bookings through them. read more

On New Years Eve I had left my iphone in the cab and the two drivers of this company where holding my iphone hostage and they demaned 100.00 dollars for a drop of fee. Der Fahrer stellte uns vor die Alternative die Fahrt zu canceln oder eben noch ein zweites zu bestellen, dass dann aber zusätzlich kosten würde. Today the driver wouldn't let me pay with my credit card because they're "not allowed" which is BULLSHIT because ALL cabs are supposed to take major credit cards, as it says on the doors. I was driving and some cab drivver with the licence plate PP1954 try to change in the lane i was in and almost side swipe my car on purpose.
