This has by far got to be the worst cab co. Ever!! They are consistently late. I think coz they are the ONLY game in town they are emboldened to have a dont care attitude..the guy who picks the phone up needs his teeth knocked down his throat..he is rude, surly and has even hung the phone up on me midsentence..hell the old geezer who has picked me up even SMOKES in the car!!! I was so shocked when he lit up nonchalantly I had no words! I merely endured being smoked out for fear he'd put me out if I said something. wait times in the order of 30 to 40 mins even more sometimes are the norm without so much as an apology or explanation. Yellow Cab - A biiiig thumbs down! Id use both hands but I have to hold the phone - Taxis Near Me - Temple, Texas

I had to use this cab service 4 times in the last week and I am very disappointed. First off, the vehicles were filthy! The drivers were eating in their vehicles and had trash in the seats. The vehicles were not safe. The back seat bench actually lifted up when I sat down (I'm petite) and looked like it was not connected and was just cushion. The drivers were smoking in the vehicles prior to picking me up. I left the cab smelling like cigarettes and I don't even smoke. The fare was $3.00 before we even drove away. I needed a ride that was 3 minutes away (couldn't walk because of surgery) and it cost me $5.50 but when I was dropped off a couple miles further the day before that was only $7.00! On average it took anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes just to get picked up. I was seriously disappointed. Not representative of a good company. Not clean, not punctual, pricey for the distances, and they have drivers who are not familiar with some of the public places like hospitals and clinics. February 2, 2015...Gotta admit after reading the reviews, I needed clean underwear. Had a 9:30 am exam at Temple College so I called the night before and scheduled pickup for 8 am. The driver was on time, even turned off meter while at atm (they don't take credit cards). Cab could have used a air freshener, but no regulations state they cant smoke in their cabs. Driver did not smoke while I was in cab. He was very nice, good con- versation and most of all, I was at school on time. read more

Really upset. Called 2 hours ahead of time to be picked up by 11:15. Was picked up at 11:46. Late to my job as well. Driver has the nerve to say "you seem a bit agitated". When we finally got to the destination I needed change and she stopped at a green light to give me my change which also felt like it took forever and a day, wasn't sure if the driver was doing it on purpose to make me more "agitated" at this point. You know, A LOT of people have told me that they HATE this Taxi company..... I LIKED it and found them to be quick, responsive, and most of all pretty dang PUNCTUAL.!! This company must have cleaned up some and hired a NICER (NOT SO CRANKY) dispatcher and more enthusiastic drivers, because I had a GREAT experience with them and would definitely use this Taxi service again.!! Don't deserve any stars. Worst service I have ever experienced. Horrible rude and yuck. I called ahead to get a taxi ride from VA hospital to the Hampton Inn. They said they would pick me up at a designated spot in 30 minutes. So I got to the spot and sat down and waited. After 45 minutes I called again to check the status. They hung up on me. I called again and spoke to a very rude man. He said they were busy and would get there as soon as they could. I tried to ask how long it would be but he then hung up. So I waited another 30 minutes and called again. He said that they were headed to pick me up. So okay, finally. I sat and waited another 30 minutes. Now we are at over 2 hours. I called again and the guy said the taxi is just up the street and will be there in a few minutes. I contemplated walking but it was starting to rain and I didnt want to cross the 2 very busy streets near the hotel on foot. So I waited...and waited and waited. Finally as I was just about to call again I saw a yellow cab coming down the street. Just under 3 hours! The young man pulls up and I climb in the filthy, smelly, disgusting cab. I tell him where I want to go and mention that he must be busy (since it took nearly 3 hours to pick me up). This whack job then goes off on how his job sucks and the cabs are "death traps". This cues me to just get the ride back to the hotel fast. He then starts to drive to the hotel but stops right away and starts beating on the cb radio with the transmitter all while cursing. The duration of the ride comprised of this odd duck telling me that he hates his job, the cars are death traps and unsafe, the some days he feels like just pounding on whatever is in his way and how all his bosses are idiots. Once I arrived at the hotel I paid him with cash and asked for a receipt (for expenses). He then flipped out about "everyone wants an (expletive) reciept today". He scribbled on a pad, tore it out and threw it at me. I got the heck out of there fast. If you are ever in Temple Texas PLEASE PLEASE make sure you have your own transportation. You cannot count on these jokers to get you from point A to B. Unfortunately (as of now) they are the only service in town. I called in the morning for a ride from Temple to the Killeen airport. I requested to be picked up at 3:45pm and the dispatcher said no problem and gave me the price up front. At 3:55pm I called to check on the status and the dispatcher said the driver would arrive any minute. At 4:05pm the driver arrived. As a result of his tardiness I MISSED MY FLIGHT! Very disappointed with this service. I could be a recurring customer for this business but as a result of my experience, I do not know if I will ever call again. read more

I really wish I could curse, just to let you know how horrible this cab company is/was. I read 2 negative reviews prior to calling them, but it was the only option. We went out for food and drinks this Friday night and - being responsible - used the Yellow Cab service instead of driving and I will NEVER do it again!! They claimed they called my phone 4 times within 30 minutes of placing the call... Never happened or passed by. I had my wife call and the dispatcher tried to play Head Investigator to determine if she was with me. Needless to say, Yellow Cab of Waco, Tx should be disbanded and removed from circulation. I would even except a worthy competitor to give them a run for their money. As long as they are the only Cab company here - they will continue those poor service. By far the worst taxi service I have ever used. Be prepared to call multiple times and be cussed at and hung up on while waiting much longer than the generic "30 minutes" that they always say. This is the only taxi service in Temple, so if your destination is within 4 or 5 miles I would strongly recommend that you walk there before wasting your time and money. The dispatchers are genuine a-holes, the drivers are pretty rough and their vehicles are even worse. Even if you call ahead to set a time for pick up, you're most likely going to get skipped out on and end up even later than if you were to call 5 minutes ahead. If you live in an apartment complex, if you aren't waiting outside whenever the driver decides to show up, they'll drive through the parking lot and leave without stopping (this has happened to me twice now) They don't deserve the one star. read more

The previous review is right on the money. Yellow Cab of Temple, Texas is the only cab company in town, and acts like it. The dispatcher is rude, hard-of-hearing, bored, uneducated, impatient, tired. He lies to you with ridiculous phrases such as 1) "We'll get you there quick". 2) After the first half hour - "He's on his way". 3) After an hour and fifteen minutes -"He'll be there in a few". He's either lying to you, or they dispatch their cabs from Houston! Today, after 2 hours waiting, I gave up and started walking. When I called him the third time asking for specifics about the cab "that was on its way", the dispatcher hung up on me. THEY NEVER CALLED MY CELL PHONE ONCE (which I assume they had on caller ID, because they never asked for my number at any time). I suspect that they automatically ignore the short fares - they tell you you will be picked up but have no intention of doing so. Once, I called to get home from an outpatient procedure at Kings's Daughter's hospital. The receptionist said the Yellow Cab cabbie drove by, glanced at the hospital entrance, and then kept on driving. How can a major metropolitan area like Temple have only one cab company - a company that behaves as if it only hires people with a 2nd-grade education and has a fleet of 4 cabs? Does Yellow Cab feel no shame in lending their name to people who represent them as garbage? And it ends up causing real harm - imagine a highly-intoxicated bar patron, unable to get a cab, who then decides to walk home, and gets violently mugged or run over. As a consumer, the lack of competition sickens you - it's a kind of abuse. I imagine they had better cab service in the old Soviet Union than they have in modern-day Temple, Texas! read more

The guy answering the phone is way to quick to hang up on you and must either be retarded or just stupid as he quoted me a 30min wait and an hour later there still was no cab in sight. Call a friend, bribe a stranger, but definitely don't count on these guys to get you to your destination on time read more

I left the bar at 2. I called the local cab company. Took a little while, they don't accept cards! We were going to have to go get my ATM card and go get cash to pay the cab. However, as I was directing him, I explained that our turn was coming up. I said, "not that one, the next one." He excelled a bit, was passing our turn. I exclaimed that we were at the turn. He makes a hard right and slams on the breaks! I fly from my seat into the passenger seat in front of me. At that point, I shouted and got out of the cab. I was not about to ride back to the ATM and back to my parent's place with him after all that. He was either distracted, inexperienced, dumb or possibly impaired. I called the company right after that. Management is out until Monday but dispatch said that I didn't have to pay for it, so what was the problem. I will offer to pay for the ride. However, I think I have a valid complaint and concerns, as well as some suggestions like using Square. read more

This is the worse taxi service ever! More like no stars for this service. My father in law called to be picked up and was told 25-30 minutes an hour later he called to check well still no luck anyways it has Ben almost 3 hours and there still not here and he says he will be here in 10 minutes we will see. I called Temple Yellow Cab an hour and a half before I needed a ride. The call taker prescheduled my event. After waiting and waiting, I finally called the cab company and they said someone was on their way. They finally arrived one hour after my prescheduled time. It's a good thing I wasn't in a hurry! To top it off, the cab smelled like an ash tray. Other than taking the bus they were my only option. I would suggest to others that you find another way to get around. read more

i cant believe how bad this taxi serves is. they are rude and mean and always 2-4 hrs late if you can don't try to find another way .....
