Status Before Becoming a Resident: DACA Age: 30 Criminal Record: Arrested for a felony but never convicted Last Entry into US Type: DACA with Advance Parole If you are a considering starting the process of applying to become a permanent resident (PM) and you are looking for a Lawyer who is honest, knowledgeable, and very reasonably priced you should hire Ashkan. I hope this review will convince you why you should stop your search and go with Ashkan. I decided to go to him based on several factors including online reviews, price, knowledge, and empathy towards his clients. I have had several experiences with lawyers during my entire process of becoming a permanent resident. During each stage of my immigration process I went to a different Lawyer. The three different stages I went through were my initial application for DACA, my application for advance parole, and finally adjustment of status to become a PM. By the time I was ready to apply to become a PM I was very familiar with what the process would entail. That knowledge helped me vet several lawyers before I met with Ashkan. During my initial consultation with him I was able to determine that he was a lawyer that really cared about his clients and wasn't looking to over charge me for his services. He impressed me so much that we signed our contract that same day. Facts About Me I came to the U.S. when I was about 4 years old without documentation. I have grown up in the U.S. and was a pretty good kid growing up. I have only had one run in with the law. When I was in high school I stole something from a public park that ended up causing about $500 worth of damage. Since this was my first offense the arresting PD decided to give me community service in exchange for dropping the charges. As a result of this I currently show one felony arrest on my criminal record. This arrest record has made things a little difficult during my entire immigration process because despite what people may think USCIS does do their due diligence and they have always requested documentation of what happened. Lucky for me I was smart enough to keep the documentation proving that arresting PD did indeed drop my charges. So I have been able to get DACA, advance parole, and adjustment of status. Process of Becoming a Permanent Residence Ashkan was able to help me file my application for adjustment of status. He recognized that I despite my arrest record I was a perfect candidate for adjustment of status. For me I was able to adjust because I was a DACA recipient, who had been granted advance parole, left and entered the country with inspection and finally married to a U.S. citizen. The whole process took about 8 months. Ashkan did an amazing job helping me through the entire process. I would like to say where he really shined was with the interview. His knowledge of the process and his relationship with the immigration officials as the Santa Ana office made the whole process very easy. He gave me the best advice, which I would like to share with you. If you are in a real relationship you have nothing to worry about. That turned out to be very true because I got approved for my green card that same day! Ashkan is a very good attorney and knows how to treat his clients. He agreed to take on my Employment based 485 case when I decided to move away from my previous attorney in Northern California. At the outset, my I-751 (removal of conditions) petition was straightforward, but there were a few complications that arose along the way. Ashkan and his team were absolutely brilliant throughout the process. He not only gave me excellent legal advice, but during times of great distress also acted on a personal level and helped steady my nerves. He and his team were extremely patient with me and answered all my dumb questions. My petition got approved a few weeks ago quite ahead of schedule (it took less than 9 months which is about half the average time for these things), and I have no doubt it was because of all the diligent effort and meticulous care Ashkan and his team put into it.
