We saw some of his platinum records on the wall, we saw pictures of bubbles. we saw the recording studio of where he actually Recorded. That whole studio was basically designed for Michael Jackson's comfort but the area we were in was just like a viewing area where slick Rick spoke about his album. He was being interviewed and it was a visual album so it was amazing. I don't know if I'll ever be back in there because that was such a random experience, but I'll never forget it because it was definitely memorable.

He also gives you kind and helpful feedback and direction if you want it, but if you don't he's very easy going. Turnaround is fast too and he can rush it if you need that. I think I've finally found that space for my artists in Truth Studios. The space that Nick (engineering for SZA, Solange, Rae Khalil, Vic Mensa) has curated is exceptional. Starting with the recording space: you head upstairs and immediately you see some of the best recording equipment there is available in the business. Racks of pianos (including a legendary Hammond I am scared to touch), upright acoustic with some of the best mics attached for a flawless sound, Juno 106, OB-6 and MS200 synths, insulation, isolated recording booth with an iconic Sony C800 mic (usually runs about $7K USED), Telefunken v76 pre amp, and a pair of SICK Augspurger speakers that are actually taller and wider than me and will blow out your eardrums, if you want. As a result, the sound is CRAZY, while the space remains comfortable and cozy. The environment is wildly uplifting, with Nick having a polaroid photo of everyone who has ever worked in the space, including pics of LA favorite Hip Hop legend IllCamille, Little Simz and about 100+ other people. Inspirational recording area that feels easy to create in. Then we have to talk about the downstairs area. Some of the most legendary art pieces by KAWS and Keith Haring (HE HAS THE HARING CHESS BOARD OMG) are abound, with several posters and RIAA plaques featuring all his work and hits hes recorded. Solid seating and kitchen area, clean bathroom and general space to move to if you need a break from the recording area. Above all else.... location location LOCATION. You need a snack? One of the best and cutest sandwich shops is right next door. Need something more substantial? Erewhon is directly across the street. Need to take a full break and walk around? Its around the corner from the trendiest spaces on Fairfax and Melrose, in a safe and upscale area. Quiet and private, close to great public spaces. Definitely bringing music artists here for recordings and clientele for meetings. A perfectly crafted and immaculately placed space for music makers and lovers. It was my first time recording audio like this, and The Invisible Studios made it pretty easy. I was told where to go, at what time, and what to do when I got there. The parking instructions panned out and I was pleased to find a spot with my name on it, in the alley behind the studio. Someone came and met me right away, and I was led into a recording booth. It was a cool set-up, but not intimidating, and the people who worked there were polite and helpful. We did a sound check and got on the phone with the audiobook producer, who stayed on and guided me through the process. It was weird reading my own words out loud while listening to my horrible mouth sounds, amplified with disgusting clarity (I was assured that they wouldn't be audible in the finished version). I hate the sound of my recorded voice and will never listen to the final product, but I think it went well enough, and in any case, was over in about fifteen minutes. If you ever need a place to grab audio from a random writer in L.A., The Invisible Studios can get the job done.

The spot is great to store your gear, have meetings, rehearse your music, record and produce music during quite hours, and make connections. It gets hot in the summer, but the rooms have AC.
