Notably, you might think that an underground mine would be open all year, but apparently there are still enough safety concerns that it is closed for a large part of fall and winter. This led me to check it out in a hurry before my opportunity disappeared for the year. After waiting in a museum outside the mine itself, a tour guide escorts you in for a tour on foot (they apparently tried and failed to do golf carts instead, and useless display screens from this experiment are still standing). This is a small section of mine that apparently was used specifically for display purposes for quite a while. The style of mining here was known to be both sociopathically cruel but also a major part of this country's internal development and its projection of power during war when coal was still king. In addition to these stories, there are also a number of fossils and other interesting sights. It is a small section of mine, and a tour with relatively few questions ran about 45 minutes. There's more to learn about the area and about coal than you could get in that time, but I certainly got enough detail in my tour to be worth the trip.

To start, he completely ignored me as if I didn't even exist for the first 5 minutes I was there even though I tried to get his attention multiple times. Most of the items have no price tag so you have to ask , which clearly annoyed him , he made it known I was annoying him by asking him the price for 2 items. Only 2 items. Then he made fun of me when I asked why the bags of gummies were empty, which I felt was a legitimate question. This guy is clearly not capable of working with the public, he'd do better as a horse manure shoveler or cleaning septic tanks. Also, a lot of the products are wildly overpriced, you can buy the same things and better quality online and no one will be an asshole to you. I'm not saying I'll never shop there again, it's down the street from my house so it's convenient, but that's the only reason why. P.S. To the owners find an employee that makes me people happy to shop in your lovely store, that guy makes me want to run from it.
