Visit the area longer then expected with my dog and was in need of a groomer. Not knowing anyone in the area made use of my fellow Yelpers reviews to help me choose some where to go. Based on the information from others as well as a phone conversation with Scott, the young man who would be so kind as to fit me in on a Saturday morning! There was great signage from the highway and entrance as well as parking we're clearly marked. A rest area is proved for your pet should they need to make use of prior to their appointment, which for me is important. The lobby is full of a variety of pet food brands including Blue Buffalo and Merrick. We were greeted by a nice woman who informed me my groomer was on his way. Scott came around the counter and introduced himself to my dog as well as myself. My dog was at ease with him and he was very good about asking me specifics such as body length and tail usually need different cuts on my dog who is a mixed breed so no specific cut needed. I was told about an hour and maybe 20 minutes. My dog went with him as I left to run an errand. I arrived back earlier then expecting so I could check my emails with a cup of coffee in the parking lot. I had to park on a patch of grass since there wasn't enough parking when I returned. As I sat there people came and went with their pets all seeming to be happy with the results. To my surprise and delight the woman who greeted me called out to me that my dog was ready! Great customer service! I came in and waited excitedly to see my handsome fella. My dog is not accustomed to being groomed, at least that is what I was told. I was given an amount to pay, made my payment and was asked if I would like to rebook. Also good customer service. All services requested were done to my satisfaction, my dog looks great and he is so much cooler then before. I didn't give a 5 because after I left initially, I forgot to confirm that a particular service was performed, I had to wait a bit while other things were being taken care of and had no way of alerting them to my presence. Just moved to Homosassa and used yelp and other internet reviews to locate a good grooming salon for my precious fur babies. I was very pleased with all aspects of the process. The customer service in making the appointment was great, the groomer did an awesome job on my malitipoo and cockapoo. Honestly as good if not better than the groomer we had for 10 years before we moved to Citrus County. Of course we're already booked for our next appointment! read more

My first review was written 6/7/2017. I agree with Paige, I'd give 10 stars if given the option. We have been taking our beloved Sam to Yappy Tails since the first visit in 2017. Instead of freaking out like he would at other groomers, he actually gets excited to see Scot!! Now Sam is an old man with some physical limitations. Scot is so knowledgeable and compassionate when it comes to dealing with a dog who has special needs and requires extra TLC. Aside from that he's just a doggone good groomer! We wouldn't dream of taking Sammy to anyone else. Scot and his wife are wonderful people. They are without a doubt the best you can get in this area. We leave our precious furry son with Scot and Christine with complete confidence. He leaves with a smile and a happy tail. read more

This is our first time for 3 month stay in Florida. Yappy tails was so accommodating and so nice. Horrible!!! I was wondering how he was done in 2 hours!!! Yes, he was matted on his head and ears. Yes I expected him to get shaved. But his tail was left soo long, his head had a huge poof on top and the sides of his head also left way too long!! His feet!! Oh his feet!! Doesn't look like his nails were cut if they were not short enough and NOT dremelled so very scratchy . Then, the under paws weren't cut at all!! The fur was hanging out under and in between the paws. That's what I needed the most because he gets in the dirt. Ears not plucked anal glands not expressed. At APet Spa in Palm Harbor where I've been going they do it al and very well. I just wanted someone closer. Extremely disappointed!! I canceled my appointment with my second dog and making the hour and 15 minute trip!! SO worth it!! AND I paid $85 plus TIP!!! If I had seen the dog I first I wouldn't have tipped. I did call today and left them a message. Haven't heard back . I'm not a complainer so I didn't say anything when I left. Plus I didn't see the paws till I got home. I also got my scissors out and trimmed him up myself after I paid $100!!! THE WORST!! Oh he also told me I should bring my golden doodle in every 2 to 4 weeks!! Say what!?? My other doodle is 4 years old and he's been going every 8-9 weeks with no problems!!! read more

My 3 German Shepherds were groomed here & the results were amazing! They needed to be groomed by a professional with the tools & knowledge to do what we can not do during our at home baths. We are fairly new to the area & could have gone anywhere but after talking to the owners at Yappy Tails we knew this was where we wanted our dogs to go. Our dogs are rescues with special needs & they were cared for & respected just like any other dogs. We will be using Yappy Tails as our go to groomer! read more

Very disappointed After picking up our little guy from his grooming appt we found over 25 red oozing sores from his ears to his hind legs that hurt him so bad he yelped for 4 days if we touched him ! Our vet told us its most likely from aggressive use of a de-shedding tool . This was not his first time being groomed (his 1st here) and we've never had any problems anywhere else. Fast forward a few weeks and he's losing clumps of hair with scabs. I'm not saying this was done in purpose but folks should know to be wary even when they have "great" reviews. read more

First time and last time we will be using Yappy Tails. Picked up my (12 lb) dog after his grooming appt and shortly afterwards I noticed he was yelping when we would pet him by his ear. I assumed he had his ears cleaned to deep, but we did not see any redness or smell. The next day I felt a few small raw bumps behind his ear that were red and oozing sores, after a full body inspection I found about 25 more! My pup would cry if you barely touched him for a week ! I had the vet check him out and we were told that his skin was scraped up from aggressive use of a de-shedding tool !!! Fast forward a few weeks and we now have clumps of hair with scabs falling off of him. I checked the reviews here beforehand and they all looked good but unfortunately our experience was awful. Scot, the owner, groomed my standard poodle and did an excellent job. He has shown standards in the past. His rates are very competitive. He's a very pleasant guy.
