Now that I have a Yelp account, I felt I had to share my one time experience with Yans.
One day, a year or so ago, myself, my husband and a friend of mine decided to try Yans. We called and placed an order for delivery, 3 combo plates and an order od dumpling and a cold can of Coke. After awhile of waiting we finally got out order, paid a deliver guy and sat down to dig in, when I noticed my Coke was warm. No biggy, I opened the can and poured half of it into a glass with some ice. We all opened out combo plates and they were ice cold, kinda crappy but we had a microwave so we dealt with it. THEN we opened our order of dumplings only to be struck in the face with a horrible smell. I dont know what it was, if they had gone bad or what but they smelled awful and the filling had a somewhat greenish tinge to them SO we decided to call the restaurant to see if we could get replacement food or our money back, because at this point we were very hungry and getting pretty cranky. My friend was the one who called down to the restaurant on my house phone, She very nicely explained what was going on and asked if we could please have replacement plates of hot food and an order of something else besides dumplings (because we didnt know if the rest of the dumplings would be the same) and we would pay the difference if we had to.
The lady on the phone was nothing but rude and argued with my friend on the phone saying basically that she was lying. I took the phone after that and asked what the problem was and explained that we wernt angry or anything but would really appreciate new food and didnt understand why she was being so rude to us. She then told me that they would only replace ONE combo plate......
Thats when I started getting angry and calmly argued that we didnt want ONE plate replaced, we wanted it ALL replaced, because we ALL ordered something. I told her that she was providing terrible customer service and that I wanted to speak with the manager. She huffed and puffed and got even more pissy before she put down the phone and I could hear muffled talking as if she covered the phone. She then came back onto the phone and said "Ok, we will replace all of the food but we want all the food you already ordered back, including the coke' which I already opened. I could not believe the unprofessional behavior of this women and how ridiculous they were being, I should have just demanded our money back and went elsewhere, like May Garden, but no, I agreed and hung up the phone. I put her stupid pop in a ziploc baggy and gathered up everything else we had and waited for our new order. Not only did they forget to send another can of coke, but they sent more shitty dumpling and our combo plates were slopped together like they just put everything into a bowl, mixed it up and sent it....never again
THATS NOT EVEN THE END OF IT.....
So, a girl we new through a mutual friend had gotten a job there for a short period, we saw her in the store one day and were talking and asked her what she was up to, when she told us where she was working we laughed and told her about what happened...She paused for a second looking confused and said "wait a minute, do you guys live up on [insert our street name here]"? when we said we did, she laughed and said "oh my god you guys, there is a noticed posted by the phone saying to never to deliver to you guys again because you called and told off the manager, apparently..."
SO, with all this being said, I will never eat anything from there again and I try to deterre my friends and family from there too...
I dont know if Im the only one who has had this kind of experience or not, and if you chose to eat there because you like it, then thats fine, do whatever your going to do. But I thought that this was to outrageous, not to share. I hope that they dont treat people like this on a regular basis :( read more
