That being said, I searched through Google and Yelp and the ratings at Barber on Main was great and it is very close to me. I did see it was by appointments only and was hoping he was taking new customers. I was very upfront and transparent that I was hoping to get an appointment. To my delight, Ron was accommodating and gave me some dates that he had open. I booked it quickly. The day of my appointment, he opened the door and apologized that he only does by appointments only and as I was about to introduce myself, he recognized my voice and was SUPER friendly and asked me to come in while he was finishing up with a customer. Mind you I was early. The place is VERY clean; awesome decor if you like that vintage "rat pack" vibe; and the energy that Ron exuded was just great. I felt I found a new Barber and I was not disappointed. He is a great conversationalist and has interesting life experiences which kept me entertained. He is also very professional as he was feeling my hair and asking me what I was looking for style wise. He gave me suggestions of not going to short with my type of hair but will take it short as much he feels is the right length for me. My cut was great! My experience was great! The price was AMAZINGLY cheap!! Again, 10 stars if I could give it but I am definitely going to be a repeat customer! THANK YOU RON!!!

I've been a customer ever since and his level of understanding and accommodation is second to none. I travel a lot for business and always have to make last minute changes sue to my schedule and Ron always bends over backwards to get me taken care of. On top of that, he gives a great haircut in a great, family friendly environment at a very fair price. I've got my appointments booked our through the end of the year!

My husband has had his hair cut by both Nick and Nicholas in Oxford and Shelton and when I say he goes in looking homeless and comes out looking like the cover of a GQ magazine..it's no exaggeration. Their lines are clean, the cuts are affordable and great quality; they do an AMAZING job here. I normally am the one that ends up making his appointment because he's so busy at work, but I love the online appointment system - it's really easy to use and gives you a lot of options to chose from time, date, and service wise. I came back this week for a pre-Christmas cut and it was nothing short of the perfect haircut. The shop was clean, organized, and very welcoming. As soon as I walked in, Mike was welcoming and professional. He tended to my haircut requests in a very detailed fashion and provided great company. The barber who wasn't doing my hair was constantly yelling swears, and the barber cutting my hair would yell back, keep in mind this was a super tiny store where yelling really isnt needed. This made me extremely uncomfortable. The place also does not take plastic/cards. I was not told this, not when I called to make an appointment or when I walked in prior to getting my haircut. Considering most places take card now a days I feel like this is relevant to mention to a new customer. I was lucky to have enough cash on me to cover it, but I had been playing to pay with card, so this was a big shock The barber who did my hair was also not wearing a mask when I came in. I already have 1 dose and I really needed my haircut so I just had my hair done but I think this is very misleading. You have to wear your mask at all times or you're really not doing anything, since any germs that come out of you are on your chair and tools which you breathed on while a customer wasn't in your chair. Duh. I will never be returning. The haircut they gave was fine, but I can find better quality with an environment that doesn't make me constantly anxious elsewhere.
