For years he has emphasized the importance converting old movies to digital format since they apparently degrade and fade over time. I heard the words, and intended to get around to it, but was "too busy", "didn't have time" and "needed to 'organize them" (so I thought). In actuality, it took no time at all to retrieve the box from the closet and drop it off - very easy, simple and quick. A lifetime of my family's videos going back to 1960's was place on one drive - and what a game changer to be able to easily watch and share them with other family members!! I was brought back in time to so many happy moments and memories of my grandparents, my childhood, and all the wonderful times raising our children. I was hit hard understanding Dan's message behind "preserving your family memories" when I viewed one particular video with my paternal grandmother who passed in 1989. As I listened to her voice and hearing her express herself, I realized my memory of who she was, her voice, her movements, personality, had all faded. I suddenly wondered who she was as a person. I was overcome with wishing I knew more about her childhood, her family, the massacre, and so many things that I will never know. For my children and generations to come, she is essentially lost and in a generation or two, basically forgotten or nothing more than a name and date of birth/death in the Family Tree software. This isn't just a "review", but an encouragement to have your parents and grandparent's interviewed and preserved for your children, grandchildren and future generations. If you have video tapes call Dan and drop them off without delay. It is true, they do degrade. There is a noticeable color/quality difference between the newer and older ones; three tapes degraded fully and were no longer recoverable. Today. Like a movie trailer. Their editor, Jacqueline, was the one who sifted through nine hours of footage and selected the most perfect moments to showcase on the video. Since my wedding was 6 years ago and since I only had 2 hours of video footage as opposed to my sister's 9 hours, I didn't have much hope that anything could be done with my wedding video that would result in the same quality as my sister's. However, Jacqueline reviewed my footage and assured me that she's be able to put something together for me. I was AMAZED with what I received in return. My updated video is a perfect representation of my wedding day, and Jacqueline was able to showcase the most perfect moments just by instinct alone. She is a true artist in every sense of the word. I'm not sure how many editors Furla Vision uses, but I can say that Jacqueline is incredible. I cried when I watched my video, and I have watched it over and over again, each time seeing something I hadn't seen before. I never knew how special a wedding video would feel until I received mine. I visited their office in Northbrook and was shown to their super cool movie theater room. There Jeff explained the many options for videography and had so many video examples to show. One of the options was a cinema style video, which is basically creating a movie out of someone's bar-mitzvah. The videos were so amazing that I found myself glued to the stories of random 13 year old's special days and when Jeff turned one off after a few min I was bummed I wouldn't find out what happened to Drew! Drew's bar-mitzvah kept me as engaged as some of my favorite TV shows! They also take photo montages to the next level. Jeff showed one example of an art themed bat-mitzvah where the young artist basically walked thru one of her paintings into a gallery of all of her art. I was sold and came home brainstorming many ideas for what we can do for my daughter's montage in a few years. He was very easy to talk to and very responsive to any questions and delivered the final product in a timely manner and as promised (about 2 months after the wedding). If you have any doubts about a videographer, hire Sureshot and you will not be disappointed! There are a variety of different packages and all of the important parts from the ceremony and reception were captured beautifully. We watched our wedding video (~2 hours) and our 5-minute highlight real video and to say it is a work of art is an understatement. The videos are provided with a cute photo on the front with our names and the date of our wedding like a real movie. There are very cool drone shots of the venue for the beginning and end of the videos which were so cool to see the venue from that angle. The sound and cameras were not in the way of the big day as we could barely tell they were there. We also got the raw footage on a USB file for a small additional charge, which was a great offering to have to be able to see outtakes and catch some conversations. The sound on the final video is perfect and the picture is so clear it looks like an actual movie. If you have any doubts about a videographer, hire Sureshot and you will not be disappointed!
