The park is and has always been well maintained. The park has evolved and added overhead nets to protect the fans, which is an added bonus. The parking is always plentiful, and I have seen RV's parked around the perimeter of the parking area, so I guess it must be allowed. The park says dog allowed, but it is at the discretion of the tournament director, and for the state tournament, it was a no dogs allowed. The fields are always well maintained. The food and drink choices are a bit limited, and the restrooms seem to be inadequate since there always seemed to be a line. The park is in close proximity to stores, hotels, and restaurants. Found a random employee and she said she heard three different starting times and advised to come back at 3pm. 3pm ~ handful of parked cars reassured the event was still on. Climbing the wooden bleacher steps was a bit startling as the deteriorated planks bend to each weighted step. 5pm ~ qualifications finally start. 6pm ~ races begin. 8pm ~ unfortunately had to leave before the finals to put the kids to bed. Carnival snacks, domestic beer garden, souvenir stand. Sitting high in the bleachers have the soonest shade and safer from flying wreck debris. To watch a few wrecks is the entertainment reason to endure long prerace preparation wait. Good turnout in the stands and the race participants.

After a couple races, they brought all the race cars onto the straight away and let the fans walk around the cars, take pictures, and get autographs. My kid even got to sit in one of the race trucks. Then, they loaded the kids up on a school bus and "raced" around the track three times! It was totally fun. They have a family friendly section - no alcohol. The whole place seemed very friendly, the races were really good and not a lot of downtime between each race. Definitely worth checking out if you spend a night in Yakima.
