Don't judge but I needed Asian food as my first meal here in Brussels, and they were actually still open at 10 PM. This place had pretty good reviews on Google. (Who uses Yelp in Europe? oop) The menu was a bit overwhelming because the Thai/Viet food that I was used to in the states was not the same here. ( And thank God the owner spoke English!) The pho came with tonkin noodles, but it was still delicious. They had sriracha and hoisin sauces - you have to ask. The papaya salad was absolutely fire - literally. I drank so much water because it was so spicy. It was topped with some pork grinds. The egg rolls were great! It came with some fish sauce (and not Thai sweet chili). The mango stick rice was really good. Although by dessert time, I was pretty full. They have Asian beer here! I saw a lot of food delivery people coming in and out. HIGH-LY RECOMMENDED! What I loved about the place is how quaint it is! You feel like you're having dinner in your living room with a few unfamiliar faces, but nonetheless it feels good to be in a restaurant that feels familial. That also means you can't show up with the crew, but they're probably not your real friends anyway so go with the person you feel most connected to; you know, the one you can actually have a conversation with for more than 2 minutes that wouldn't involve you grabbing your phone. The food is marvelous; you can never miss with Asian food & the owner made sure to accommodate my plate to my allergies, even when the food was already ready (sorry about that!). Of course this was before COVID-19. I hope to go back there in the future, as it's a staple in the city center. It's at the tourist trap hot spot, but it's not a tourist trap! Luckily! Never in my life have I been so ignored by a restaurant. I'm accustomed to slow service, busy waiters, but never have I walked into a restaurant and been flat out ignored. Zero acknowledgment of my existence. I felt like I could have taken my dick out and pissed on the tables, on the display case, in the waiters eye, and even in the chef's mouth and still been ignored. This is in spite of looking at the staff and waiting for any form of acknowledgement. Both sons seemed more preoccupied with talking to their friends than actually doing their jobs as a waiter. The mother and father also seemed busy serving the second floor, but walked by me several times without so much as a wave, vocal acknowledgement, or wink of an eye. After ten minutes of awkwardly sitting at a table both sons got up and left for a break, maybe. I'm not really sure what they were doing. Anyway, that was the tipping point when I just got up and left. I'd sooner eat a blended mixture of Elmer's Glue and sawdust than go back to that establishment. read more

Nice little Asian restaurant that is in the middle of Brussels. The place is not fancy at all and most of their seating is outside. It looks like a lot of their business is done by people coming to pick up food. The service was not so great it took a while for me to be able to place my order then 5 minutes later the guy came back over and told me he forgot my order and asked me what I wanted again. After that, the food did not take too long to come and was decent and a larger portion than I expected. They do not accept credit cards here although I don't recall seeing that mentioned anywhere before I tried to pay. read more

I came here for the second time, since my last year visit to Brussels. I was expecting something better. For real Asian food hunting, this place won't cut for any rating. I order the "Pho noodle soup", real "Pho" doesn't taste like that at all. it's still better nothing though, they are not bad at all but it doesn't taste real asian food. After I read some review, seem this place is family own so I can't complain too much. It's not easy to keep food business, after all they are not bad at all. However, the service was bad. They are very slow, not sure because of what. They had 3 servers, 2 behind the kitchen and 1 was running everything (bring the check, clean table, bring the food and drink, take order). They don't have much table, shouldn't be a problem though but 2 server were on her cellphone, and the other one on the phone was taking order. They have 3 tables were waiting for checks, 2 tables were waiting for placing order. 2 tables were waiting for their drinks (beers) took 10 minutes to bring the beers to them. Service are just bad. I paid for 12.30 Euro for bowl of noodle soup, that won't even taste to my expectation and bad service. Not sure I will come back here again next time. read more

This is a great find and One of my frequently visited places when i lived in Brussels. A tiny family run restaurant and the Best Thai food that i have had. Be it the Red curry or the Pad Thai or the vermicelli salad or my all time favorite the Suki - Yaki special noodle soup ,I have had them all. I had high hopes for this place when we were first exploring Brussels and after making a big tourist loop around town, we came back here eager for some Asian food. In hindsight, we should have known that when food is on displayed in the store window like a prop, its usually not a good sign. The only positive was maybe the location, sort of the edge of the big tourist spots and it was two story where the second floor is setup in a circular fashion overlooking the first floor. The place definitely seemed family owned and everyone that worked there was nice. But the food on the other hand was not very good. The worse part was the dim sum appetizer which came out looking like no dim sum I've ever seen before. All the dumplings were stuck together and looked like they were already half digested. None of us walked out there happy with our food (even with lowered expectations). It was not cheap either for what was essentially bad Asian food you would find in a mall in the US. read more

A great and popular lunch, with a chance to eat some real Asian food in central Brussels. The soup bowls (a k a pho) are delicious and flavorful. No need to use that nasty sriracha stuff ( remember they closed the place down temporarily a few weeks ago because local residents in th LA area where it's made complained), savor the subtle spices. The duck and vegetable dish is nice too. Can be quite hectic at lunch. We ate there twice in three days. The second time they only had one wait person and she be hustling! Maybe s/o called in sick. Stumbled upon this place out of desperation for some Vietnamese food and it was hands down the best pho I've ever had! Got the wonton and pork and it was awesome. Shared a plate of the mussels with my friends and they were good as well. Definitely recommend ! read more

I've been here a few times, each time staying at the nearby Marriott Brussels and walking a short 2 minute walk around the corner to Yaki. The place is extremely small and is essentially a kitchen with a few tables. I had the Beef Pad Thai and it was very good. No as sweet as some Pad Thai in the States but had that smokey wok fried taste. The tom Yum soup was a letdown. The broth tasted like ramen noodle broth and there were large chunks of ginger and kaffir lime leaves. I mistook a chunk of ginger for a water chestnut (which there werent any) and had a nasty surprise. The prices were average for Brussels but high for an Asian restaurant. Expect 10 Euro and up for entrees. I would go back but not for the soup and I suggest take-away if possible. Oh and it's CASH ONLY. read more

Easily the worst dining experience I can recall, if it's fair to call it a dining experience. A friend and I had traveled to Brussels recently and we stepped into Yaki's fit a quick bite. We seated ourselves front and center after no one directed us anywhere or seemed to pay attention to us. We waited for a menu or any indication of service from the older man serving the food or younger man giving out bills, everyone ignored us. We eventually left after 10-15 minutes of being completely ignored by every staff member. This is the real deal and some of the best Thai food I've ever eaten w/ good experience. Yaki is a tiny family run place with a good menu of authentic Thai dishes. We had red curry chicken and a noodle dish with vermicelli topped with what they called "lemongrass beef". The curry was luscious but the noodles were really amazing. This included veggies, sliced beef as well as pieces of a deep-friend beef sausage like stuff. It was so good my wife and I ended up fighting over the last few bites. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. There is no decor to speak of and it is a crowded and barely comfortable setting - don't mind any of that if you can snag a table. I ordered the crunchy noodle with vegetables and tofu. It was so saucy and flavorless. I did not eat 1/8 of it and the waitress never checked on is until the end of the meal and did not care that I found it inedible. My sister got sautéed vegetables and tofu and that was just as bad. Nice thai/Vietnamese restaurant. The best thing about this place is that it's open at 5/6pm for dinner when most of the restaurants in Brussels don't open till 7pm. A friend and me decided to go there, the waiter prepared a very uncomfortable table because the place was crowded. After waiting more than 45 min after order, we decided to go because although others tables were served, ours not. The service was horrible and slow and the restaurant was suffocating.
