I'm so happy I can now continue to have the dental care Ive really needed for a long time all taken care of. And then taking the only appointment that they had available this month. The service here is impeccable. The receptionist was professional and friendly, and the dentist goes through a series of background questions first about you and your overall health before the exam. The hygienist probably has one of the least popular jobs there but explained a lot of things related to teeth and gum health that I never thought about before, that were really interesting. She also used this numbing paste on my gums to help reduce the pain, and offered me Advil afterwards if I needed it for pain management. I also left with some free toothbrushes, rinse, floss and a lip balm (made of all natural ingredients). So why 4 stars and not 5? It was damn expensive. Or at least, in my opinion. I've been a regular dentist visitor in my adult life and never seen a bill over $200 or $300 before, and at the end of my visit I was presented with a bill for $600 for the exam, two x-rays and an hour of intensive cleaning. PS: This place is located upstairs, look for the tiny sign and stairs next to Wow Chicken on 10th.

Not only were they able to accommodate a date switch due to an initial insurance coverage issue for me, but for someone who has a slight phobia of dental offices (and as such, has not been there in many years), they were also able to make me feel welcome and at ease throughout the process. Doctor Van Blaricom and his assistant, Wendy, were thorough and friendly, and great at explaining the reasons why they were doing and checking what they were. In addition, there was no judgement at all from either one as to my long stretch between visits, their main concern was to get me back on track, fixing the minor issues that were present. After a few suggestions for at-home dental care, I was easily booked into the next few appointments, all within the next few weeks. The ideal patient I am not, having experienced the cruelty and ridicule of certain dental professionals. At Beltline Dental Care I have a new lease on teeth. The entire staff is kind, caring and attentive. Shelina always makes me feel comfortable and relaxed. She does an excellent job and is always careful and gentle and non-intimidating. Dr. Lee is funny, kind and gentle as well. He is honest, non-judgmental and has a remarkable bedside manner. I am a low income senior. This dental practice blew through the total 5 year budget of $5000 in…read moreless than a year without informing me of the costs of what they were doing. The previous 5 years budget was enough to cover for all procedures needed. They had done some work on a tooth and right beside a tooth that there was obvious decay showing on new ex ray. It was so visual that When I looked at the ex ray I could plainly see it. They completely missed it. As a result 6 months later the tooth had to be removed and supposedly could not be saved. Recently A filling popped out. They glued the old filling back in and within 2 weeks It had come out again. They explained that they did that in the best interests of the patient instead of putting a new filling in. This procedure was not covered by insurance but a new filling would have been. How is this in the best interest of the client? The last cleaning a couple of weeks ago was so painful because the hygienist was in such a hurry that she hit my gums with the tool regularly. It was the most painful cleaning that I have ever experienced. For this service I was asked for over $370 even though previous cleanings never came above $260. Thats more than a 40% increase in labour cost. Is that inflation or just greed. I was told that the fee schedule had gone up. You understand that that is not a government schedule but dentist associations giving dentists a raise. The office manager that came in to talk to me was so aggressive in defending themselves and justifying their actions that I left the office without receiving treatment for my missing filling. Never once have I received an apology for their errors. Three strikes and you are out.

For example I have receding gums and I always jump a mile through the roof when dental hygienists are cleaning my teeth and they hit a raw nerve but today I had an amazing cleaning with Angela who just went above and beyond and coated my receding gums with a highly technical new product that doesn't hurt or smell or taste at all but it protects me and made it a pain free cleaning. My teeth feel and look perfectly clean thank you so much Angela for your time and attention to detail and I will definitely be back.!!!!!!
