But I still needed it fixed. I called AMB for a REPAIR estimate. What we received instead were two NEW roof estimates. One for $79,455 and the second one for $66,755. This was after they took a core sample. Do your research when working on your roof. We absolutely did not need a new roof. We knew that and every other company that came out, agreed. I was not going to post a review on this ridiculous encounter until the company we actually hired to repair and reseal the roof came across the core sample. They informed us that it was not put back properly and was actually stuck back in with caulk and the caulk used doesn't even adhere to roofing materials. Had this not been found and repaired properly, we could have had serious roof and interior damage. Unbelievable. This whole experience is, at the minimum, really bad business practices. At the most, it borders on fraud and negligence. Buyer beware. Update: I obviously ruffled some feathers. lol. I initially had written a six page review, listing every single detail but decided against posting that. Nobody is interested in reading a novel. Bottom line is we called for a repair. We do not need a new roof. We needed repairs and a reseal. We discussed a repair. AMB pushed for a full, new roof quote as the "repair quote would be 50% of what a new roof would cost". My husband said fine, but that he was really only interested in a repair. Btw, I am only discussing here the house and attached garage. The detached garage is an entirely separate issue. My husband is sitting here flabbergasted at this company's response to the core sample and how it was left. Because what was said here is not what he was told on site. I stand by my review and every word. The sales person saw a big house on 12 acres and assumed deep pockets and a huge sale. Big mistake

Everyone in the office returned calls and emails immediately. Couple of small issues along the way were fully expected, but they were corrected quickly and to expectations. The moss was forcing some of our shingles to buckle. We also inherited two large areas that were 'repaired' at some point in the past, and those repairs were near failure. Fast forward a bit and we received four estimates for a roof replacement/ updated roof system from different contractors. UV Exteriors' estimate was the most competitively priced by far. We decided to have both the roof on our house and our garage replaced. Overall the sales process was very informative and helpful to us making a decision on our roof; we liked the salespeople from UV Exteriors. The shingles that we had on our roof were apparently called 3-tab shingles and all of the estimating companies stated that they either don't install them or manufacturers no longer make them. So we opted for an upgraded shingle with relief. Our new shingles have copper imbedded in them which prevents the growth of moss. The shingles also have a 50-year warranty, which is a big plus. The UV Exteriors crew arrived sometime before 8am, and they got to work right away. A complete tear-off, and a new installation took a single day by the crew. The crew was kind! Most importantly the installation was wonderfully done AND the mess that a roof tear-off creates was completely managed by the crew. We have not found a single errant shingle, nail, piece of plastic or other debris in our yard or our neighbor's yard. The roofing crew did an amazing job! We appreciate the great job that UV Exteriors did by installing our new roof system, and we highly recommend this roofing company to you!

I'm visiting Illinois from California, my mothers handyman thought she needed a new roof and…read morerecommended his buddy's. She asked me to help her get some other estimates because the one she received was extremely high. She had an advertisement card from DGB roofing construction Inc. which was local to Crystal Lake and to me a perk. So I called and made an appointment and they were very communicative. Because my mother's home is very difficult to locate they called me a couple times to find us and they were even able to come a day earlier which was great for me having come from out of state and other obligations I needed to manage. Now though, we were expecting to get an estimate my mother was so relieved and felt blessed by the adjuster named Nabil. He was so very honest, thoughtful and helpful and with all the other worries I have about an elderly parent; this gave me peace at heart. He was up on the roof with his equipment & I was also looking at the roof thinking it was looking pretty good. But while Nabil was doing his inspection from the roof and I was on the ground he explained how well the valleys were built, there were top notch vents and the flanges around the chimney stack were also very good quality. He told me it was a 30 year shingle and had probably had been put in about 15 years ago. I am so very grateful that there are still contractors out there with some ethics. Because it would be very, very easy to take advantage of an 80-year-old woman in this day and age. As the other company would have done and the second contractor I had contacted who wasn't going to come and look at the roof he was going to do it via satellite. No thanks! These are the reasons I am giving this company such a high rating even though we did not schedule a roofing project.
