The total price was 8.55 euros. My tour guide asked the employee if I was allowed to sit in the tables and chairs in the dining room. I felt surprised that he asked. I had assumed that I as a paying customer would automatically be allowed to sit inside and eat. I rate the churros as 4 stars and the dark chocolate dip as 4 stars. These churros might be more authentic to Spain, but my husband and I personally prefer the churros in the U.S.

Visiting this spot was a highlight everyday, my mother felt she was a child again having hot and sweet churros on the go. They also had an assortment of fried potato chips, cookies, different size churros, and other pastries. If you are able to catch them right when they open you can see the whole process and get the freshest product. Even if you get the later batches that aren't as hot it's still delicious. We also tried these treats made with almond flour that were exquisite but my personal favorite were the stuffed churros. I got the one that was filled filled the white crema. The only word to describe this pastry is PARADISE. The thick luxurious cream paired with the soft sugary shell of the churro works better than cupids arrows. I was absolutely in love and still crave/think about it almost everyday after getting back to the States. If you are visiting Barcelona I HIGHLY recommend taking the time to visit this spot! The prices are extremely fair especially for the quality and traditional techniques witnessed. The older gentleman who run the operation are also super nice to everyone.

Valor is known for their chocolate selection which they have plenty to choose from including dark chocolate (my favorite). The service is friendly and despite a busy crowd, they make an effort to keep orders moving along.

We speak English so we went in the shop and tried to translate the menu with an app. But we didn't have connection and it was already our turn. I chose what looked the best and went with a hot chocolate. The guy taking our order was fine. My mom asked if it had milk in it but he didn't answer our question. He was very efficient though . The ambiance was cozy. It felt like I was at a chocolate house! With a few seats to sit at with red seats and decor. Wonder why I put three stars? Here's the deal. After we ordered I tasted the hot chocolate. The whipped cream didn't taste like anything just fluffy whipped cream that took half of the cup. I dug deep into the hot chocolate and tried a bit and it tasted like literal melted chocolate. Not liquidy, just melted chocolate in a cup. Look, I love chocolate don't get me wrong but if you call that hot chocolate, idk what hot chocolate is anymore. It was a thick liquid and I didn't drink it in small gulps, it was too thick to do that and I didn't want to get sick. I got a small stomachache from drinking that. It tasted like pure melted chocolate. Too pure. If you want to go to Chocolates Valor, just go for regular chocolate or something else and not hot chocolate. It tasted like a chocolate sauce.

The selection for gelato is great (quite standard for gelato in this town). My gelato was quite good. My standard selection of coconut and chocolate was very flavorful. I found our waffle though a tad bit on the sweet side. This may just be my personal preference as I tend to prefer my desserts on the less sweet side if possible. This is the definition of a tourist trap!…read more If you're traveling by foot through the streets of Barcelona, you're bound to pass by this "bakery" a number of times. From the outside, the establishment looks beautiful and inviting, however don't be fooled because everything that glitters isn't gold. Sold on the idea of bringing home some fresh biscuits for the family to enjoy with a nice cup of tea, I made it a point to stop by La Cure. As you walk by the open front of the "bakery", you are showered by a large display of what appear to be freshly baked cookies and biscuits. The display is large and round allowing you to circle the showcase of over a dozen different delectables. Here is when then get you. A young lady came over and offered us a small cookie that was advertised as one that could be purchased from the display. We tried the sample and immediately knew we should get some. This is where is started going downhill. The cookies and biscuits are purchased by the pound however there are no scales for you to weigh your product. Above the cookies were these beautiful Barcelona tins that would be free if you purchased X pounds of cookies at several Euros per pound. Thinking this would be a deal, we began stuffing our bag with an assortment of cookies to ensure the tin would be free. After being given an estimated "weight per cookie", we believed we had triggered the free time so we headed to the cashier. The cashier then weighs our ~approximately 20 small cookies and the price came out to about $55. $55 dollars for a few biscuits!?!? I figured, well at least the one we tried was tasty and we got the free tin right? No. Absolutely not. After arriving back home the following day, we eagerly opened our tin to share with our morning tea. OMG to say we were disappointed was a major understatement. These were the driest cookies and biscuits I had ever tried in my life. Not at all like the fresh biscuit we were given at the store, one bite turned your mouth into a cement mixer as the cookies disintegrated in your mouth. I honestly had to use a napkin to spit it out. Thinking I maybe had gotten a bad break, I went in for another. Nope. Even worse, I nearly cracked my tooth on the second as it was hard as stone. Not one of my family members had a cookie they enjoyed as they were all hard and dry. Don't be fooled as if the displayed cookies are out in the open because they're fresh out of the oven. For as high as these cookies were stacked in the display case, I'd guess some of them might have been there all year. Please don't waste your money here as they are plenty better real bakeries selling freshly made treats. One star for the beautiful and inviting look to the place.
