After 15 minutes, that employee told me he had to go as he had work to finish in the basement. Meanwhile, another customer walks in and asks for a boot help sizing and fitting. I'll wait and go to Colorado or Utah rather than give them another try.

Truly, this…read morefamily and its employees have a passion for everything outdoors, for leading its customers toward an educated purchase, and for the surrounding community. By far, this was the best experience buying a bicycle I have ever had. Rob took the time to answer all my questions, to help me purchase the best choice for my needs and size, and to help me select a well-fitting helmet, a quality bike lock, a rechargeable safety light, and a cool portable bike pump for long, rural rides. The prices were more than fair, the selection was great, and they really knew their products. Without a doubt, I will shop here in the future for any of my outdoor needs. I highly recommend that you do, too; you'll be pleased with the friendly, knowledgeable staff, quality product selection, and personal shopping assistance. I sure know I was!

Because of that, I made it a point to find something I wanted and make a purchase. You don't get that kind of hospitality everywhere you go, really great prices too. We chatted for a bit while I browsed, and I told him about some of the record stores in my hometown, and musical tastes. Great selection of punk rock and metal for a small shop, really surprised me with what they had available. Unfortunately, no Jazz that I was looking for, but it's everywhere by me, so no biggie when I get to shop a great selection of metal. I'll be back for sure when I next come into the area for work!

My elderly mother ordered a sympathy boquet from this place today. It arrived LATE to the funeral…read moreand was nothing that my mom ordered. She ordered a$100 bouquet, asked for purple and yellow flowers and they showed up with a dozen of wilted red and yellow roses...no greens, no babies breath, no bow on the vase, and no "sister-in-law" banner. it appears that just because she used a gift card, there was no profit in the transaction for them. When my mom called them, they told her basically "to bad so sad"........poor customer service and will never do business with these people again.

Summer '08: I'm dropping my rating three stars because of a bad experience with them. Last summer…read moremy wife and I ordered a stone Japanese lantern to place near a Pagoda dogwood in our garden. The lady warned us that it might take a while because of the way the manufacturer does things. Summer turned to fall; fall to winter (which is awfully long here in Wisconsin but I digress). I called them because they couldn't pick up the phone and call me. I called twice and was told by a woman that it was on order. I asked when to expect it and was assured that it would be in about Mothers Day. Winter turned to spring (finally) and spring was in full force late in May. But I waited into June. I called twice and twice was told by a young woman that she would give the message to Al (the big cheese there). She said she would call back. Needless to say Al never called back. I decided to go in there, cancel my order and use my gift certificate for something else. I decided not to be angry. I told him that my calls hadn't been returned. He knew my name and so knew the situation. Despite all this there was not one single word that indicated remorse or an apology! If you go there never order something. Go to Home Depot where they deliver on their promises to order stuff. My old review: A plethora of plants, lawn ornaments, knick-knacks, lawn furniture packed into a relatively small location! They have a wide variety of stuff: kitsch to somewhat elegant. Fun to browse and check things out. The hired staff is friendly and helpful but stressed: I've been in there a number of times when there is a wait to get a staff member to help. For certain requests they seem to be required to talk to the owner, Al. Their plants look to be very well taken care of. Their parking lot is smallish.

Their staff is knowledgable and friendly, albeit sparse. You do have to seek them out, but when you find them, they are good. The best by far is Al, I'm assuming that he is the owner. He is tremendous and will take all the time you need to walk the grounds and help you pick out just the right solution for your needs. All of the local landscape designers direct their clients here - enough said. If you show up on a Saturday, expect to wait for assistance. The place is often packed, especially in spring and early summer. The quality of their trees, shrubs, and other plantings is tremendous. I don't really focus on price, as landscaping for me is a long term investment, so I don't know how they compare here. They have the largest selection in the area. If you have a specific need that they don't stock, they usually can get it ordered and delivered within a week or two. I have done this a number of times, all with good success. I have used them for four phases of our home landscape design, done professionally by Susie Murphy of Landscape Solutions (recommended). We started in 2008 and will finish in 2013. Window Box quality has remained strong during this time. If you prefer searching through the parking lot nurseries of Menards, Home Depot, Walmart, etc. then please stay there. It will help keep the crowds down here.
