The atmosphere was welcoming, friendly, and casual. The season had started but Lisa, the instructor, and the other students were very accommodating in helping us catch up to where the rest of the class was. Lisa is an excellent instructor too - lots of experience, great at explaining things, and very patient. All things we really needed haha. We were worried that we wouldn't be able to catch up, but it turned out to be okay! We had a lot of fun, both at the barre and even learning some choreography from a ballet we both recently saw. There were all levels of students, but each level seemed to be catered to just fine even though we were all mixed in together. Some exercises were adjusted for the different levels and we could do what was comfortable for us. I've taken other adult ballet classes that have been great too, but if you're looking for something doesn't require commitment, this is ideal. Most of all, you really can't beat the price. Recitals are an option (though we have decided not to perform haha), and there are other adult classes too. We're both really excited for our next class and also to check out some of those others soon!

A variety of classes are offered 7 days a week but unfortunately this past Sunday's were cancelled due to some special event they had (website's schedule is up to date). To book a class is super easy; choose which class you want and it tells you how many open spots are left. You pay via credit card and receive an email confirmation. Upon arrival you just go to either of the studios where the classes are held. I booked a spin class and the instructor came up to introduce herself and asked my name and said she saw it on her roster. As for the class, it was very good and the instructor (Jill) was super nice and chatted with her a bit after. Facility is very clean and the bikes were in excellent condition. The only con is it is very hard to find as there is no signage indicating where the center is located (you see the theater upon arrival). I stopped and asked what appeared to be some city road/construction workers and one was able to give me directions. Saw the building with a huge parking lot and assumed that was it as I saw some people going in who were in workout gear and carrying gym bags. Once you initially find it you are good to go and know what/where to go.

I haven't been to Fox Theatre in quite a while. As this was a phone-free experience which adds an…read moreextra step to entry, arrived as the doors opened. Line moved well and it was organized. Once phone was secured you received a printout with seat location. I purchased merchandise(t-shirts and a hat) as there was hardly anyone in line. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Since unable to eat before the show grabbed a slice of Little Caesars pepperoni pizza, a popcorn and a bottle of water. Of course it's marked up! Venue is cashless. Ushered to my seat and it's such a beautiful venue I spent time marveling at the theatre and architecture. There's really not a bad seat in the house. Only issue is in the main floor people stand up which blocks the view of those sitting. Some aren't physically able to stand for long periods of time and I think that contributed to me not going there. The acoustics are great, but this was a live band there was a sound issue with the opening act and again near the end of the show. You couldn't make out the words for the opening act and then everything went out during the main set. Artist Jill Scott thanked us for our patience and kept the show going. All in all it was nice not to see people recording and taking pictures. I'm sure that helps the artist stay focused and it showed we can live without our phone's! I enjoyed the concert but next time will sit in the Mezzanine to have a full view of the stage.

I'm really sad to be posting this. We had a very bad experience here. I think they have bad…read morebusiness practices and their classes for children are overfilled and not engaging at all. I have a son who has done aerials for a full year elsewhere. Because of Agora's policy and the way the children's classes are set up, they have the first and second tiers simultaneously. We were told that they would see if he would be advanced enough to place in the second tier within a few weeks. I've never noticed anyone actually take a second to evaluate any of the kids, but I have noticed some of the tinier, stretchier girls have been place with the second group. I get that girls are typically more limber than boys; but he is strong and skilled on the equipment.. Needless to say he's still in the first tier. So every week we go and every week he stands in line for approximately 30-40 minutes just to hang on a piece of silk or a trapeze or a Lyra for 15 seconds. We do this about 7-8 times and the hour is up. $160 for this for 8 weeks? It's disappointing. I guess my hopes were too high. Oh the other thing they get ya with is that in order for your child to be in the performance they have to register for the first course and that ends before the program, so then you must enroll in the next 8 weeks. There is a climbing wall, pool, basketball court, indoor track, a wide variety of classes, many fitness machines, various rooms, even quiet rooms, and so much more. There is even a theatre and performance space. I look forward to exploring everything. They offer personal training too. The staff is very kind. Klark provided me with a wonderful tour of the facility and Ashleigh helped me sign up for my membership. Excellent service. I love the design and decor. Sleek and modern. Fun art throughout the building too. Plenty of seating areas too.
