Life Time Fitness is a huge lifestyle gym and health center in Beachwood. It can't even be compared…read moreto any local gym, it's far superior. During my initial visit my tour guide referred to it being like a county club. Right on - upscale and relaxing vacay vibes. I have only remained a member for a few months due to life events and health circumstances. I was always very enthusiastic about visiting Life Time! AMENITIES: The club is very clean and every part of the experience is well designed. Everything you need is there. For instance, you'll get all toiletries and towels for your shower or sauna visits. The club well serves a variety of guest groups catering to their unique needs. Parents can use childcare service. Millennials can utilize pickleball courts. Retired folks can partake in a fun Arora aquatic program. There are numerous amenities: full salon, cafe, co-working cafe, indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam room, pickleball courts, rock climbing, Pilates studio, personal training, yoga studio, chiropractor, cold plunge, outdoor bar, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, workout area, cryo, and a lot more. You almost need a lifetime to explore them all! It was an immediate "yes" for me in terms of joining. The gym is very spacious, you never feel constrained at any times of the day. My favorite amenities are the outdoor pool and Club Lounge (co-working space). The outdoor pool is Olympic size pool with comfy lounge chairs and lounges. There is zero entry part and swimming lanes. Robust Arora program (open to any ages) offers fun water aerobics activities. The classes are so high energy! The pool was even open into October this year. Loved the pool! Co-working space offered me a lot of flexibility working from the gym and taking a break to enjoy the amenities. The internet speed is excellent! CLASSES: Classes can be conveniently accessed via Life Time mobile application. Sign-up is easy. Timings are suitable for various schedules. EVENTS: Life Time hosts plenty of events for members creating a communal feel - karaoke, swim nights, and even tequila tasting. Some feature a DJ and cool decor. While most events are free, you'll pay for drinks. PRICING: Prices match the amenities. I paid almost $200 per month for a single membership. Not everything is included in your membership (Pilates for instance), but most things are. You get some discounts (such as the salon, the cafe, and personal training) during your first month. It's definitely a pricey investment but also self-investment. CANCELLATIONS: Membership cancellation is very easy. I was able to cancel my membership via the app. I was sad to cancel my membership but life is lifing. You also have an option to pause your membership and partake in online workouts. DOWNSIDES: To be honest in my review, few issues exist at Life Time: - Concierges are not always pleasant. I had this experience, my guest did, and other members mentioned it to me too. The service is very dismissive. You will constantly get referred to the app, attentiveness is rarely a thing. - Cafe prices are outrageous and far higher than at any other health cafes. I recently paid over $40 for a power bowl (Shoyu-Sesame), protein balls, and a smoothie (Açaí Bliss). It's convenient to have a cafe onsite, but prices are wild for the portions and mediocre quality. - Open hours for the amenities are ever changing and unclear. It's hard to figure out when the pools are open or when cafe outdoors is available. Employees I've asked about the open hours were equally puzzled. This doesn't well serve busy individuals with demanding schedules and need to pre-plan. - The parking lot is very dim at night. While the area feels extremely safe, it's still not the best time in the evening. - Onboarding process is rather chaotic. I found myself asking basic questions about creating a pass card, locker use, open hours, and sign-up processes. I was constantly referred to the app which didn't have most of these answers. Overall, I truly enjoyed the amenities at Life Time. I will definitely rejoin when my personal circumstances change. I highly recommend dropping in for a day pass to experience Life Time or formally joining. You won't find a better gym around!

PHOTOS attached below…read more I visited for a yoga class in January 2021. A former co-worker who teaches yoga classes there, she may not teach there anymore since the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic, invited me to take her yoga class so the class was free for me. I believe the gym offers a free week trial of classes or just one free class for prospective new members. YOGA -- I attended a vinyasa flow yoga class and I can't remember the specific name of the class but it was in-between a beginner's class and an intermediate class. I enjoyed the class because the instructor (Elizabeth) gave good directions/cues between movements. We did the typic upward and downward faving dog poses GYM -- The gym is HUGE and has a lot of weight machines to use plus dumbbells, bikes, and treadmills. You can get all your strength and cardio needs at this gym. I think they have a pool too. CAFE -- The small cafe is a convenient option to grab a quick bite post-workout. They sell smoothies, sandwiches, snacks, etc. After the yoga class, I ordered a small breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon and it tasted good. It wasn't too salty and it was just a typical breakfast sandwich. I also ordered a bottled SUJA green juice which was refreshing. I won't join this gym because it's too far from where I live but if you live on the east side of Cleveland then this gym is a good option. **** - 36/150 total reviews in 2023 - 587 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 19 March 2023

I'm a new member at this gym. It's a solid five stars. That's not to say it's perfect. I'll start…read morewith what I wish was better here: I wish this spot was 24/7. *update!! This location is returning to 24/7 before the end of the year. This November. In time for our frosty cold weather)!!!!* I wish they had a pool, sauna, steam room, spa, basketball, and racquetball. But whataya gonna do ‍ That's about it, toward the negative. And that's just me dreaming of a world perfect for me. Now for the good(!!): Judgment free gym isn't just a clever slogan. It's a way to be. The staff here, though many are new, are top-notch. My neighbors, that come in here to work out all have things in common with me. They like a good place to work out, and they care about this neighborhood. The people walking through this door to use the gym are good people who live or work nearby, often both. I feel very well taken care of by the good people who work here. They're very hospital and seem to CARE about ME and also their JOBS. They let me be ME and help me become a better version of myself. I've got a six pack! And those sexy things that dip below my waist!! The equipment and amenities that they do have are excellent. I joined as a black card member, and my total payout to join was UNDER NINE DOLLARS!!! And Black Card is def recommended. All clubs. Tanning. Massage. I can bring a guest every time I come!! I just upped my dating game tenfold by becoming a member. This has afforded me SOOO MANY THINGS. A clean, safe locker room, health equipment and exercise routines. Hours of massage therapy (in automatic chairs), a place to charge my phone. Meditation. Conversations. Connections. Garfield Commons AKA Garfield Mall is a paradise filled with our neighbors and people supporting our community. Marc's is the anchor. Or will it be Aldi? Big Lots is on the ropes, but they are holding it down. UPS store? Subway. Dollar Tree. Etc etc. McD. Beauty Shop. Nail salon. Citi Trends!!! Two Banks. Flava Southern Comfort Cuisine!!! So many great places here. But My Anchor has become this gym. I strengthen my body and my mind. I speed up. I slow down. I do what I do, and don't nobody judge me. And the sunrise and sunset are gorgeous from the parking lot. Every morning and every night. Don't forget to enjoy OUR beautiful Ohio skies!!! They're free to us all and can be a reminder that despite what this world has become and where it's headed, there is beauty and magnificence all around us, and all we need to do is choose to enjoy it and/or be inspired. I've gotten the names of several staff. And I will shout them out now: Anita, Marshaya, and Elleyse are all top-notch, helpful, lovely ladies who greet me at the front desk and take care of me while I'm here. And Marcus, a new overnight custodian was the first employee I spoke with, and even though he's new and doesn't know how the front desk works, he was great and helpful to me as I wandered in after midnight on a weeknight. He helped me become a member. My life hit an important crossroads recently. This gym was at the crossroads, and that's the turn I took. It hasn't even been 36 hours, and my life and health have immensely improved. Maybe I could've done this without the Garfield Heights Planet Fitness, but this place and these people have lifted me up, along with my own effort, just like the assisted pull-up machine. I LOVE THIS GYM!! And.... THIS GYM LOVES ME RIGHT BACK!! Here we are, all together, tryna get by, and move on up, physically, mentally, spiritually... Here we can choose to make these moves together, or even alone, with what is provided by being a member. As my own life has been derailed a bit, I joined this Planet Fitness on Saturday morning. It's now Monday Afternoon, and it has become central to every aspect of my life. One of the best decisions I ever made was to become a member.

GROOVVERYDE WOODMERE IS NOW RYZE + GRIND…read more I cannot say enough about Ryze & Grind .. every time I'm in Cleveland this becomes my home gym. Todd runs this place like a well oiled machine without creating a cold environment. It's located on the second floor of the building, up the stairs and on the left (across from the water fountain). Just follow the sounds of music and laughter. COMMUNITY Everyone at this place is so damn friendly! My very first visit here an older lady with beautiful white hair (another member) told me exactly what I would need for the class and welcomed me personally. Every time you enter you're greeted (by name if Todd is behind the desk). They even hosted a community happy hour last week, providing food and drink tickets to everyone who went. I met so many new people who attended classes at different times so it was great! VARIETY No matter what you are into they have a class at a time that works for you: Barre, Spin, Bootcamp, Weightlifting, Circuit Training, Yoga, etc. My personal favorite is the REVOLUTION class, which combines spin and bootcamp, it is not for the weak lol. Beth and Todd usually teach this class and it is challenging every time. You typically need 3 sets of weights (light, medium and heavy) and you'll do as instructed in the allotted time before hopping on and off the bike for sprints and climbs . INSTRUCTORS When you enter you'll see some lovely new photos of every instructor. Todd is my favorite with Halley (yoga) a close second (her goose is very soothing). I love that they are all diverse, with unique styles and all have great playlists to push you through class. ENVIRONMENT The space is very well lit and I love the spin room with the LED lighting. With fresh paint and their recent rebranding, the place looks awesome. The large room they use for Circuit Training and Yoga holds assault bikes, row machines and a variety of dumbbells. They even have awesome merch, I'm interested in getting a shirt next time I go. Lockers, towels, hair ties, mints and ear plugs are always provided / available. Energy drinks are available for purchase. If you're looking for a new gym give this place a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Come ready to work cuz you'll definitely be a sweaty mess when you leave. ‍

This review is specifically for the downtown location (which doesn't have it's own listing)…read more I came here with some friends to try out a spin class. This place may be one of the best places to do it because you can get your first class free, how amazing is that? I have never been to a spin class and I was lowkey terrified. My goals were as follows: 1. Don't fall off the bike and 2. Don't stop pedaling until told to stop. Right from the start of just walking into this place everyone there was very friendly and accommodating. They relieved me of my nerves, answered all of my questions, and helped me set up my bike to my height and strap my feet in. I rented shoes for $2 because of the aforementioned, possibly irrational, fear of falling off of the bike. Kaitlin was our instructor and she was great, very energetic and encouraging. She also showed variations to some of the movements for those who were less experienced with spin classes (because let me tell you the getting up and sitting down movements are a lot harder than they look when you do them while pedaling) which I really appreciated. I was happy that the class also incorporated arm exercises and wasn't just leg focused. Did this class kick my butt? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes. If you want to try a spin class - definitely come here. If you don't want to try a spin class but looking for something else? They have a number of different classes that all look fantastic - check out their website!
