We recently moved to Sandpoint and needed the carpets in our place cleaned. Their work was extremely disappointing...we honestly couldn't tell it had been done at all. In the bedroom were bugs, feathers, and pieces of hardware from the window treatments still on the floor! Where the carpets met the baseboards there was still a thick deposit of dust and dirt. Some of the stains were actually larger due to dirt being moved around and, from what we suspect, dirty water not getting changed in the machine. We called and calmly expressed our disappointment. We understand it may have been the last job of the day or just oversight, but given the chance to make it right they, instead, sent a guy out to convince us it was fine, nothing could be done, and to try vacuuming. We did. We bought a vacuum-- the filter was FULL after doing the living room. If it were my business I would have rolled up my sleeves and done the job myself to make it right. I guess in a small town with no competition you can get away with service like that..... read more

After 9 days away chaperoning a volleyball trip to Anaheim, I returned to my rental in Sandpoint to find my dear, innocent kitty had gone potty on the couch--probably in retaliation for being left alone. (That's how kitties roll.) After calling and leaving messages with several cleaners and receiving no returned calls, I was happy to get a real live person on the phone at Extreme Carpet and Tile. Their cleaners just happened to be in my area and finishing up a job so they were at my home in an hour. They cleaned the sofa and my highly used family room carpet; using special enzymes to eliminate pet stains. Both are sparkling clean and smell like a dream. Extreme Carpet Cleaning did an amazing job at our house!! Over the years we've had several carpet cleanings and have even done it ourselves a few times with heavy-duty commercial grade equipment. We've got light colored carpeting that displays those "high traffic" areas quite well and even though those traffic areas diminish somewhat after each cleaning, it seems they start creeping back within just days. Once Extreme cleaned our carpets, those traffic areas completely disappeared and I was completely shocked that they stayed that way for a long time.
