Because this is located in a strip mall with a Chinese food restaurant in the middle and constantly rotating business at the end, it's never not busy in this parking lot. Which wouldn't be a problem if: a) there was more space to park b) the average vehicle in this area wasn't an enormous truck or SUV c) the gas pumps at Cumby's weren't on a diagonal in super narrow lanes Every time I've gotten gas here (every.single.time), I've had to sit and wait for a pump to open because giant pick-ups made it impossible to get around them to an open pump. And when I finally did maneuver my car next to a pump, I was immediately blocked in both from the front and back by people who were parking to get their food or gab inside Cumby's causing more - you guessed it - sitting and waiting as they finished. Skip it and head to the one in Lewiston (no, seriously).

The Sabattus location is a great example. And if you have your gas purchase taken from checking account using their card, you save 10 cents a gallon. I have still not taken advantage of that feature, but it's there. Also, in the morning the coffee, while not great, is still only 99 cents, even if cups keep getting smaller. Biggest issue with their coffee is they have a seemingly good variety, including one limited time flavor. But I can't tell the difference in taste of any of them...they all taste the same, no matter what flavor you choose, to me anyways. And if you get coffee anytime after noon time, it tastes strong, old and nasty. But they provide an awesome selection of flavorings, have fresh cream and even have those little "stok" caffeine shots to boost your morning a bit. You don't go to Cumbies based on pizza...as it is generally the most bland pizza you can buy. None of their other fresh cooked items look good to me and I question what is used for ingredients...sure they are the cheapest money can buy. The service is refreshing to see employees take such pride in their work. They are very nice, as well....except for the tall female manager...she is abrupt, never smiles and just wants you to buy your shit and get the hell out of there. I will avoid her register every time possible. She makes you feel very unimportant and just an interruption to her day. Good thing the other associates are nothing like her, or I would not go there. Ever. And most prices as in any convenience store are way to expensive, but unlike most, they do offer little sales from time to time, and there are a few reasonably priced items. This is a nice store and I do a fair amount of business here. The parking lot and gas pumps can be a dangerous nightmare when vendors are vending and people get gas and instead of moving car away from pumps so maybe someone else can get gas too, they just leave car at pump and go inside to shop. Many times I drive by and go to Lewiston location when the parking lot becomes a cluster. No matter what or where, I will always choose a Cumbies over any other convenience store. Now let's train the manager some people skills, and this particular location would maybe hit 5 stars!

People shopping here are neighborly to each other! Seriously, it's a very nice store. Sure, I'm one of those people who prefers the segregation of my Nature's Place organic and natural foods into their own area, but they do a solid job at clearly identifying the sections among the aisles that are home to those products. I will admit: I've never been here during the middle of summer, so maybe it is a lot more hectic and chaotic here. But your busy Hannaford during July is the Hannaford on Forest Ave in Portland 24/7/365, so perspective. No, the parking lot isn't the best of the Hannaford parking lots (I'd say Westbrook and Lewiston have those) - mostly because the entrance/exit is a bit constricted; and, inside, there could be more aisles open when cashing out, but I appreciate that the Self Checkouts were all working and moved quickly. Parking - it is a shared lot with a few other businesses and it is a shared driveway - it makes it a bit crowded and hectic. The parking lot can be a challenge to navigate whether you're walking through or driving through it. It seems that someone is always honking at someone. People don't really look carefully, so be on the lookout for reverse lights. The good news about the small lot, is that carriage racks aren't far from wherever you might be and i have NEVER seen a stray cart sitting out in the middle of the lot. The store seems smaller than most I have been in and is very crowded during peak hours, end of day between 5-6pm. I have found the quality of the produce to be great and sourced locally. They were selling Ricker Hill Farms Apples today. Great quality. The bakery and cheese section is where I spend a lot of time while waiting for the deli number to be called. One word LOCAL! Pigs Fly Bread, BIG SKY BREAD!!!! Debbie's Pies, Wicked Whoopie Pies and PINELAND FARMs cheeses!! I could go on and on, but you just need to come and see for yourself. The rest of the aisles and products are typical, until you get to the other side of the store, where there is an Agency Liquor store inside! It's a nice space, plenty of options of wine, spirits, beer and on occasion they have tastings. While they don't have rare/limited release beers, they do have a good selection of craft beer. Staff is pleasant for the most part. They work quickly to move customers through the lines. The only complaint I have is that their customer service desk, isn't really a customer service desk...it's a register and if there isn't enough staff and or they are busy, they close it and only run it as a checkout. Hence the 1 less star, as I really needed stamps, so much for my one stop shopping. I do recommend this Hannaford if you are in the area. Great products and good prices. Don't forget to bring your own bag to avoid the $.05 surcharge.

In Maine we sell alcohol in CVS, Walgreens, Hannaford, Shaws and many other types of establishments, but Mr. Rooper, prior to his passing in 2022, built an empire of Rooper's Beverage stores that is well known for their inventory and bottle redemption services. If you are unable to find what you are looking for, they will try to find it for you. They found me a Jack Daniels Sinatra bottle that is very limited and they called me the second they got their hands on a bottle. Rooper's is a Maine staple and their staff is always friendly and accommodating. Mr. Rooper did a tremendous job building his business and expanding to other locations. I applaud him and his teams for continuing to raise the bar and set the standard for customer service.
