I had a wonderful experience with Ada Madison at X'spreshun Hair Studio. She developed a system called Art Principle Technique that uses facial mapping and takes into account your bone structure, body type, and hair type. It's designed to bring out the best in everyone, regardless of age. The experience was a pleasure from start to finish. X'spreshun salon is gorgeous and the Avedo products are the best. I was not a person that went to hair salons, but this experience really made me relax and enjoy the process. My hair is extremely healthy for the first time in years. I have been following some of the stylists for a while and I finally booked an appointment. I was running a few minutes late because I couldn't find the building. It was right in my face but still hard to find as I am not familiar with the area. I called and Eyvonne was able to help me locate the salon. My hair needed a lot of work as I had not had a trim in about 3 years and my hair is bra strap length and very curly. I am so pleased with the revival of my hair lol It is a clean salon and everyone is dressed in cute black clothing. Everyone there has nice hair styles. They play great music and use the best products. It was storming outside. The stylist wrapped and pinned my hair. She also gave me a shower cap and some great advice to keep my hair beautiful for when I leave the salon. I booked with Rain. She was running a little behind but jumped right in to washing my hair and styling. Her services were worth every penny. I cannot wait to book again! read more

I had mix emotions with this salon. Being an Aveda fan, and Aveda salons typically consistence, I gave it a try. When I walked there, initially was apprehensive because all the customers were African American and not sure if they knew how to work with my hair. That was not an issue and was very pleased with the results. I got my hair cut (they did a dry cut - that was the first), color roots with glaze and just a regular blow dry at the end. But wait, the best is yet to come - my total bill was $400 - I was like in SHOCK!!! They charged me $85 for color, $65 glazed pretty normal, $85 for the cut and $85 for washing and drying my hair. OK - I didn't come here to get my hair just wash and dry . my hair is straight and dries in about 5 minutes. How about the wash? You can charge me for it because I got color done, what I was supposed to do walk about with the color in my head???? It makes absolutely no sense. When I called to ask why, they say they charge a la carte - no lady - it was not a la carte - you just clearly saw me and realize - oh this lady can pay so lets charge as much as we can. With some products I purchased the total bill was over $500. Not even in a great salon in London I had pay that much. It is ashamed because the girl that did my hair is really good and would love to see her again, but with those prices - no way. Can I pay? Yes. Do I want to pay it again - a big NO. read more

Please be warned. They are not over priced - they are intentionally and knowingly over charging if you don't know better. My husband took my mother in law for a haircut and color and was charged $350. The initial charge stylist wrote was $250 and owner changed it last minute by $100. IF it was long hair - ok - but she had short hair to begin with. And if you see the haircut you will see how it was cut awfully -leaving rows of lines. We will need to get this fixed. It is sad- my husband was doing something nice for his mother and got taken. He was expecting to pay for the color but didn't understand why it was that much. Even in winter park for long hair it is not more than $250 for hair/color. Be careful with this place. They definitely take advantage and I hope they don't keep getting away with it. I will be contacting owner in the morning and expect a reasonable refund for the worst unprofessional over priced cut since I have been in Orlando. Even in Miami we didn't ever pay this much and to end up with a bad cut is not RIGHT. I am fuming and can only hope it was a genuine mistake on their end.... read more

I saw Rain William's for a consulation, with no idea what I wanted but a new look! In the past, I have had hairstylists scoff at me for doing this, but she was so genuine in trying to help me and took the time to discuss my best options. I have fine curly hair and I finally found someone who has the knowledge and technique to cut my hair right! She is a 6X National Award Winning Master Stylist. I came here a few weeks ago and all I can say is my hair is so damaged over processed. I wouldnt recommend RAIN WILLIAMS she bleached my hair to the point of it becoming mushy stringy and tangled into a ball they brushed my hair wet and freshly bleached without a detangling spray just finished breaking my hair off. Now I've spent hundreds of dollars trying to reverse the damages she caused oh btw she applied bleach to roots then the ends anyone who is licensed knows thats a NO NO! Give your lady a great gift and get piece of mind by treating your lady to an experience at X'spreshun Hair. Since my wife has started going to this salon, I have heard no complaints about cheap products used, having to bring her own products, burned hair, dull hair, bad cuts, bad color, itchy scalp same/next day after a shampoo, perms that only last a day, perms that look worse than when she sat in the chair, blaming my wife for hair damage that they caused, overbooking and long waits, allowing vulgar language, inconsistent pricing, etc. As with any great business, you can have an exception bad experience. And a well-managed business that cares about its customers and reputation will make it right (if you make them aware of your dissatisfaction and it is legitimate/reasonable). But so far, everything has been perfect. The location is great and the atmosphere is wonderful. The staff is friendly and competent, from the front-desk to the shampoo ladies to the stylists. My wife's hair has been consistently amazing week after week. If I could give 0 stars I would. I walked into this salon with High expectations and it actually looks really nice inside and everyone seems to know what they're doing. Front desk was nice and addressed me immediately but everything after that was completely down hill. I came in with a twist out and they didn't even bother to detangle my hair first. I have type 4 hair and it's very VERY thick They washed my hair all in one which i guess is typical for salons but they didn't even bother to properly detangle afterwards but I'll get to that later. After they washed my hair and left it a knitted mess. They gave me a protein treatment which first i didn't ask for. I just wanted a moisturizing deep conditioning treatment. After that treatment they washed it out and finally gave me the moisturizing one. They left me under the dryer for a while and when it finished I was left to sit for 20 minutes. TWENTY MINUTES without acknowledging me. I understand the salon has other people to tend to but i figured 20 minutes of patience was enough to call it. So then i reaches out to someone then they finally told me that the person that was supposed to do my hair didn't feel confident that they could so someone else has to do it and that someone was busy giving someone a blowout so i would have to wait longer. Eventually they find someone else to do my hair and all that girl did was yank my hair out and i legitimately left looking like a cotton ball. I asked for a blowout and trim and i knew how bad my ends were and they weren't that bad. I deep condition my hair at home with a brush and i do it in sections and i never have problems even with my ends. This last grabbed globs if my hair and tried using a wide tooth comb yanking my hair out and telling me how bad my ends were...yeah okay. She trimmed off more than i wanted--typical hair stylist so whatever but then left me looking like a cotton ball when i left and I'm not exaggerating. I had such high hopes for this place and i was ready to hype them up upon my arrival but i will never go back nor recommend it to anyone with thick type 4 hair. read more

I came in for highlights i booked an appointment 2 weeks prior with rain Williams the day of my appointment she was 2 hours late but I waited as she's bleaching my hair she started at the roots mind you I already had a natural dark brown first red flag!! Anyone who is licensed knows to start ends first! She had to then go with a toner to fix her mistake! She had two clients walk in waiting on her so she just completely disregards my hair throws the bleach on and sat me off to the side for about 30 mins or MORE now I'm freaking out she hasn't even checked up on my hair!! Finally washed it out and it was completely mushy stringy knotted up so bad she then gives me to another chick who I didn't send a deposit to so why is she now doing my hair.. anyways the girl had no idea how to work my texture hair she was like a hater I had long beautiful hair long story short my hair is still damaged I will never go there again and making sure I take the measures to make sure rain looses her job doing hair isn't for everyone read more
